Part 10:
Rey opened the door and entered in. Kriya stiffened on sensing him enter the room.
Rey's POV
I entered the room and it was decorated with scented candles, roses and other items. It reminded me of mine and Payal's wedding night. But...sigh! It Kriya instead of Payal. Kriya sat there on the center of the bed with the veil covering her face. As I proceeded towards her, I could see her stiffened. She had clutched her lehnga tight. Taking a closer look at her I could see her shifting uneasily at her place. She looked a bit scared. But scared of what? Oh wait...Is she thinking that I'm going to do something with her? If yes then she has to know I have no such intentions. I sat near her and pulled up her veil. Her eyes were closed and she looked so beautiful. It was the first time I was seeing her so closely. For a moment I found myself staring at her. Bringing back myself to reality, I called out her name.

"Kriya, you can open your eyes."
Kriya opened her eyes feeling slightly embarassed. On seeing her flustered face he spoke "It's alright." Kriya smiled a bit.
"Kriya I know for both of us this marriage is nothing else but compromisation. We have our own reasons to agree for this. I was thinking what if we become friends? I mean it'll erase the awkwardness between us and we'll get to know each other much better." Rey said a bit nervously.
Kriya thought for a moment and then replied with a smile. "Of course we can be friends. And thanks Rey for understanding my feelings."
"You don't need to thank me because I too have gone through the same."
"Rey...umm I wanted to say that I'll try to give Kaira the love of a mother. But incase if I go wrong will you be there with me?" She asked nervously. This was what she always wanted to ask him.
"I will always help you Kriya. Though I will not be able to but I will always be there to support you as a friend."
"Thanks." She paused for a moment. "Well I guess we catch some sleep. It was a tiring day for both of us."
"Yeah cool." Saying this Rey picked up his pillow and proceeded towards the couch.
"Rey stop. Now that we're friends I've no issues with sharing the bed."
"Are you sure?"
"Yea.."
Both of them lied down on either sides of the bed. Rey was about to wish her goodnight but before he could say a word someone knocked the door.
"I'll open." Saying this Kriya got up and opened the door.
"Kaira what are you doing here?" Kriya asked astonishingly seeing the little girl stand there with a teddy in her hand panting.
"Mommy first let me get in then I'll tell you." Saying this Kaira rushed inside.
"Princess what are you doing here?"
"Actually I wanted to sleep with mommy and you but daadi forcefully made me sleep in my room. When daadi left, I came here running so that no one finds me." She said making cute expressions.
Both Kriya and Rey smiled at her cuteness.
"Okay then let's put you to sleep. I hope Kriya you don't have any problem."
"Not at all. Why would I have a problem with such a sweet girl."
Kaira went and stood in front of Kriya. She indicated Kriya to bend a little. As Kriya bent, Kaira kissed her on her cheek. In return Kriya too kissed her cheek. Kriya lifted her and placed her on the bed.
"Princess now no more talking only sleep."
"Okay daddy but I want my good night kiss."
"Here you go princess." He kissed her cheek.
"Daddy why don't you give mommy a good night kiss too?" Kaira questioned baffling them.
"Uh sweety I don't need a good night kiss." Kriya spoke.
"Oh ho mommy don't feel so shy. I don't have any problem with daddy giving you a good night kiss. And you won't get any bad dreams."
Having no other option Rey moved towards Kriya. He quickly pecked her cheek. It was all so fast that his lips merely made a contact with her skin.
"Uffo daddy. Give a proper kiss na like you kiss me."
Kriya's body tensed up. She could feel his hot breath lingering on her skin. She fisted her fingers tight. As his lips touched her skin, she shut her eyes.
He could feel her heavy breath. Her velvety skin felt so good against his lips. That brief contact of his lips and her skin gave a different feeling to both of them. As he pulled back Kaira clapped cheering for them.
They felt highly awkward. To avoid further awkwardness they slept. Kaira slept catching their hands such that their hands intertwined. Avoiding each other they slept.
