So many things to say about this chapter!! I don't know where to start or how to make it coherent!! Sorry if none of this makes sense!!
I read this and then read Lazyleaves's latest chapter on Make Me Love...her Khushi could learn a thing or two from this Arnav on how to get her wicked way with that Arnav!!!
I was mentally shaking my head as I read Arnav's point of view ... he's doing what his parents did...more to the point, what his mother did...he's manipulating people to get his own way. The end does not in any way justify the means.
I totally understand his need for security, happiness, soothing life etc etc, and it's easier to find it by holding on to someone like Khushi by hook or by crook...but he should be finding it by dealing with his issues...not using Khushi as his salve.
It's going to drive them both insane if they do get married. He is going to want to manipulate and dominate her...he feels he has a right to...which he doesn't. She is going to fall for it every time...or...I think she'll become wise to it and then begin to loathe him for what he's done.
Throughout this chapter, I kept thinking of the phrase...'if you love someone, you have to be able to let them go'. I know Arnav hasn't acknowledged his feelings as love, but if Khushi turns around and says that she loves Rishabh...would Arnav be able to let her go? Based on his point of view...he couldn't and wouldn't...he'd make her stay.
The fact that Khushi has never thought of Arnav in 'that' way, makes me feel that Rishabh is going to be a stumbling block for her resolve...and there's going to be a battle royale for Khushi.
I also wonder whether Arnav could have had the same impact on Khushi if he'd just confessed his feelings ... his inability to live life without her...and made a request for her to give it a try...maybe learn to love him. I know he would never confess, but I wonder if in the future, when Khushi's resolve is truly tested, whether a confession such as this would keep her with him.
I feel for Khushi...she is naive and innocent...but at some point, she needs to grow up. I would love it if she figures out Arnav's manipulation and confronts him with it...she has a right to make an informed decision about the rest of her life...not a blind decision.
Asking Khushi to keep a secret from her Bade Papa is also very very wrong...but then for Arnav, the ends does justify the means.
Rishabh is going to be a thorn in Arnav's side because Khushi has expressed feelings for him...why should she settle for duty over love? Her Bade Papa wouldn't want her to do that. Should Arnav? No...he shouldn't...but in a way, he's obsessed just like Lazyleave's Khushi.
There's more swirling around in this brain of mine but it's late in the evening and I need to catch some zzz's.
