Important Note for the readers of my stories
I'll be quite caught up for some days.. Got lots of work and at the end of the day I'll be too tired to concentrate on drafting.. So I won't be writing any of my regular stories till the 8th September.. please bear with me guys.. And this will also give me time to catch up with my favorite writers' updates.. Sorry to my fellow writers, I know I've been very irregular on my comments but I'll catch up.. Got loads to catch up!

Ok.. Here I come with a new two shot story.. A warning in advance, Arnav and Khushi will not end up together.. I don't know what I was writing.. Chappals allowed.. lolzz.. This song is just too addictive.. And this is the first time I'm writing such stuff.. it's more descriptive than having dialogues..

TS: The One That Got Away
They were meant to be together.. But maybe in another lifetime!

Rosewood, a suburb town in Pennsylvania.. In a pair of black leggings, simple tank top.. A girl sitting on the first steps outside a beautiful house.. Her long black hairs fell on her shoulders like silk... Her name was Khushi.. Khushi Kumari Gupta...
Her lowered eyelashes bored into her diary, her only confident... And suddenly they raised up at the screeching car halted into the alley... Her body felt paralyzed at the same instant..
Her heart was stopping.. But she managed to bring a faint smile on her lips when Lavanya jumped off the passenger seat excitedly... La ran to Khushi and took her best friend into her arms... 3 Long years of separation was unbearable for La.. Though Khushi was the middle class girl who worked very hard to achieve success and La was the princess of a huge house like castle, both were like sisters in the past.. Inseparable sisters!
Khushi held her tightly.. Happy to see her best friend after long.. But her eyes.. These big almond eyes.. Were only searching for her own serenity, the longing wish to see the one whom she promised to forget about and move on.. For the happiness of that one girl who considered her a sister.. And now eager to see him, Khushi felt dug into guilt to betray her own conscience towards her best friend.. And when he stepped out of the car, Khushi's heart stopped.. The atmosphere she got herself used to was changing again.. Here Arnav Singh Raizada was again standing in front of her, after 3 long years of agony.. He removed his sunglasses and looked straightly towards the same girl who once was his life...
Both stared at each other, lost in their memories as if they felt being back to their teen years.. Slowly Arnav stepped forward without breaking the eye lock with Khushi..
Remembering the first time he set his eyes on her... He was the flirt.. the stud of the camp fire while she was the supposedly boring inexperienced girl hiding in some corner.. His heart felt heavy as he visualized their violent face off.. Her hard slap and resulting into the most passionate kiss into his car.. Who would think that this innocent looking girl was wild enough to take him at their first meeting..
As he reached next to the girls, a smiling La pulled back and Arnav came closer and gave Khushi a casual hug.. Khushi let her face rested onto his shoulders for a few seconds but they both knew this was not meant to last.. and they stepped back.. an hesitant smile on both faces.. this one smile could fooled La.. but not each other.. He could read her face.. She had not move on like she promised to him before his wedding to La! A wedding.. or better say a venture of two rich families.. a joint venture between Raizada and Kashyap, the two most important bank of US.
The three turned towards the entrance when a surprised old lady stepped out of the house.. On the spot, La screamed in enthusiasm.. "Granny"! Both La and Arnav rushed into the open arms of Granny.. Though she was Khushi's only parent left, Granny was as important for Arnav and La. After a warm reunion between the granny and her kids, the old lady dragged them into the house and ordered them to sit around the dining table before she walked away towards the kitchen..
The smell of the all times cookies of Granny spreading out from the kitchen brought more memories to the three friends.. La was impatiently waiting for her favorite cookies while her nonstop chatterbox kept on! When suddenly La reminded Khushi of their get together, their study time which mostly turned into party time.. La was excitedly reminiscing their fun moments together unconscious of the mind state of her perfect husband and her best friend..
Khushi lowered her eyes... The gaze of Arnav never left her for a second.. Under the dining table, Khushi closed her fists in frustration.. Trying hard not to burst out.. At a time, Arnav used to sit next to her, holding her hands secretly under the table and teasing her with his naughty eyes.. But today, it was all over.. When Granny came with a plate of hot cookies, Khushi choke back her tears and excused herself before running towards her room onto the first floor.. La was about to follow her when granny stopped her.. She reassured La that it was normal for every girl and she might need some time alone.. La smiled to Granny and nodded in acknowledge.. After their cookie time, Granny instructed them to go to the guest room and get ready soon.. The couple headed to their room to prepare themselves for the reason they came back to Rosewood.
