Part 1
Arnav Singh Raizada, the 18 years old teenager who had the most charming personality ever, was checking out different stores in a mall searching for a appropriate gift for his sister, Anjali who was two and half years elder to Arnav. It was her birthday after two days so he was searching for something to gift his Di. Suddenly a cool bridge hit his face and he felt different from within. He looked around and saw a petite figure adorned in a baby pink kurti and jeans, looking very simple yet elegant trying on different wrist watches. Her white complexion was exactly matching with her pink kurti and she looked like a fairy landed straight away from heaven. While he was shamelessly gawking at her, he saw a frown appear on her angelic face which made her look more cute. His feet took him to her in it's own accord and he stood there a few meters away from her seeking the reason for the frown. He saw her fumble with two watches and there he knew the reason of her frowned face. She surely had picked the two best watches from the store and was now confused in which one to select. Even he would have been in that confusion, he thought as the both watches she'd picked was very good. After fiddling with them for some more time she chose one among them, made a quick payment and left from there leaving a still dazed Arnav behind. He didn't know why but he was feeling something in his heart seeing her. He didn't know for how long he stood there in the reverie of that girl when the harsh ring tone from his phone brought him back to earth. He checked the caller and the time and he knew he was dead. So saying he'd reach hole in half an hour to his Di he disconnected the call and quickly picked something for her and left for his home.
Next day
Arnav reached home after his classes and saw his Di sitting in the leaving room reading some magazine. But wait! What was there on her wrist? He saw the same watch in her wrist. The same watch which that girl who seems like someone from a fairytale had purchased the previous day.. Was is the same watch or he was just over thinking? With this confusion going on in his mind he went and sat beside his sister in the sofa. After chatting for sometime and sharing the whole day detail with her he out of curiosity asked her from where did she get that watch from. Anjali was confused at first as it was the first time her little brother asking such question but shrugging off that thought she replied that it was gifted by her best friend, Khushi as a birthday gift and as she wouldn't be able to make it the next day for the party, she gifted that the previous day itself. On hearing his di he got a feeling if that girl from the mall and his Di's friend could be the same but he brushed his wild thinking and made his way to his room.
It had been a few weeks now but Arnav was never able to keep the fairy like girl away from his mind. He used to see her everyway and in everything. Sometimes he even mistook his sister as her. And he knew he had fallen badly in love with her. Arnav had a lot of girls who would go crazy over him at school but he was never interested in any of them but that girl surely had something in her which was pulling Arnav toward her. The more he tried to forget her, the more he failed.
A tired Arnav was walking inside the gate of his home when the same cool bridge hit his face again and again felt the same fragrance in the air. He knew he was going crazy so he again brushed it all and went ahead to see his Di seated there in the living room and someone else seeing opposite to her facing her back to him. He had a feeling if it could be the same girl from the mall but he didn't want to keep high hopes. Anjali saw Arnav entering the main door and asked him to come to her as she needed to introduce him with someone. Once reaching the place where his Di was he was feeling the same increase in the pace of heartbeat and all those which he felt in the mall and then moving his eye to the other sofa he saw the same girl there sitting in front of him with a gentle smile adorning her pick lips. And seeing her there he got the actual meaning of happiness today. Anjali introduced "that girl" as her best friend, Khushi but Arnav was in no mood to hear anything. He was just lost. Anjali left them for sometime asking Arnav to make sure not get her bored and went to get something to eat. Arnav left no chance of talking with her. They talked for sometime and anjali came with some snack. Taking a little bit of snack Anjali had brought, she stayed for few minutes more and left from there. After she left Arnav couldn't help but ask some information about her from Anjali to which she replied Khushi was her friend from university and was six months younger than her and many more things which helped Arnav know her more better. That night Arnav didn't get any sleep as all his mind was occupied by Khushi and her thoughts.
Few months passed and Khushi's visiting RM did make the bonding between Arnav and Khushi good. Arnav was falling more and more in love with Khushi and he knew fire was equally set in both sides. He could feel Khushi's quick glances and shy eyes on him time and again but he had never caught her doing so. The atmosphere in RM usually would be fun with Arnav, Khushi and Anjali playing pranks and doing various other chaos but since a week he had noticed sth was wrong. The two ladies of his life were hiding sth major from him. He could read the tensed up face of them but they wouldn't say a word to him and when asked they'd just change the topic. He had also noticed that the chirpy Khushi was gone and she always faked the chirpiness when he was around other wise she'd stay gloomy and engrossed in some thoughts. There were several moments when he got a hint from Khushi that she too felt the same as he feels for her so he decided to let his feelings out. So what she was two years older than him? Love is love, right? They were from modern society and even if they were not he knew his Di would never go against his wish so she would surely accept this relation of her chotte with her best friend. And he didn't care if his dad didn't accept it. When he didn't care about his children while bedding different women in the society after his wife's death, why should his children care about him and his wishes?? Thinking all this and making a decision of confessing his love for Khushi he made his way t his room to freshen up when he saw Khushi there. She was standing by the pool, gazing at the clean blue water in some deep thoughts. He slowly made his way to her and stood there behind her and tapped her shoulder. Khushi who was in some deep thoughts didn't decipher his presence there and suddenly feeling a hand on her shoulder she got scared and jumped a little due to which she lost her balance and was about to fall in the pool when Arnav got hold of her. Seeing her losing balance, Arnav moved a step closed and snaked his arm around her waist and pulled her into him in order to prevent her from falling into the pool and she hit her fronts with his chest and both were lost in that closeness between their bodies. They both were looking into each other's eyes and were lost. After a while Arnav did come into reality but Khushi was all lost is their intimately clashed body and his chocolate brown eyes which were saying different unsaid emotions.
Arnav saw her all lost and thinking it was the right moment he said "I love you, Khushi" in a very soft voice and pecked on her lips which left Khushi flabbergasted. She suddenly recalled the last word which had escaped his lips followed by the soft feel of his lips against her. She then noticed their position and felt a thick rope of discomfort passing her body and her heart ached. She was all of a sudden feeling weak but she couldn't show it. With all her might she pushed him hard as a result of which he stumbled two to three steps back. She rushed from there but Arnav was way to fast than her. By the time she reached his room's door e had caught hold of her wrist harshly and pulled her to him with a jerk. He made her face him and clutched on her either shoulders tightly.
"Why are you running away from me Khushi? I know you love me too", he said in a dangerous whisper.
She struggled in his grip but he was just not ready to leave her. She tried to push him again but this time Arnav didn't let her move. Feeling helpless Khushi sighed.
"Please leave me.", she pleaded but he was just not ready.
"Not before you answer me"
"Please Arnav. This is not right. Leave me"
"I said NOT.BEFORE.ANSWERING. ME", he stretched his words and this showed Khushi how serious and angry he was. She had never seen him so. He was always soft and caring but at the moment he was hurting her. His grip on her upper arms were so hard that it had almost turned purple but he just wouldn't leave and that angered her for sure. She was already going through a lot and Arnav was doing no help. In fact he was adding to her miseries.
"What do you want?"
"Answer Khushi, answer. I know you love me and you know that too. Then why are you running away from the truth?"
"I d.. don't lo. love you"
"Then why are your eyes not supporting your words, Khushi?"
"I don't know what you're saying"
"Why are you doing this Khushi? Just say it. Say it that you love me too.."
"This is wrong"
"You are Anjali's, my best friend's brother. More than that you are younger than me. Ju.."
But Arnav didn't let her complete her sentence. So this was the reason. He was younger than her and that was bothering her? Just that? He smiled a little and then said
"That doesn't matter Khushi. The age difference just doesn't matter. It's not compulsory that always a guy has to be older than the girl, Khushi. And we both love each other. Please understand."
"No, Arnav. I don't love you. Just forget me. We are not meant to be"
"Don't say that Khushi." said a disheartened Arnav.
"I am saying the truth Arnav. I am not the right girl for you."
"You're wrong Khushi. You're just the right girl for me. And I bet, though I am younger than you, I am the only guy for you. The only guy Khushi. Please don't do this"
"Please Arnav.."
"No. please Khushi, please.. don't do this to me. I love you Khushi. Pl'"
But his words were cut mid way. This time it was not Khushi's voice he heard but it was his Di's voice which came from the door. Anjali seemed mad and her next doings did show how angry she was. She came and pulled Khushi roughly from Arnav's grip and slapped he hard on the right cheek. Khushi who was shedding few tears till the but as Anjali hit her, her eyes flooded with tears.
"So this was what you are doing here? Never thought my friend who seemed so innocent was actually this cunning. With her beauty she would be charming and trapping my younger brother."
"Di what the hell are you saying??"
"Truth Chotte. You're small you wont understand her plans. I thought her to be an innocent an poor soul whose parents were forcing her into marriage as this early age and was trying to help her out of this but see here what she doing? Who toh mere hi bhai pe dore daal rahi hai"
"marriage??" Arnav asked confused.
"Yes marriage. It's her marries after 10 days and tomorrow is her engagement. I was cursing her parents till yesterday for being so harsh on Khushi but now I think they are doing the right thing. After all what else can be done with characterless girl like her? A girl who is playing with her best friend's little brother."
Khushi who was listening all this was all broken. The confused face of Arnav knowing about her marriage was hurting her even more and to top it all anjali called her characterless and at that moment she felt as though the floor has been swept below her feet. She was just weeping as she had nth else to do or say now. On the other hand Anjali didn't really mean all those harsh words she said but seeing her brother pleading in front of her and saying that he loves her, she just couldn't take it. She knew what all she was saying was not true but..
"Now what are you waiting for?? Go Khushi, just go from here. And never come before me and my brother ever again. You've broken all my trust today Khushi. I feel ashamed to even call you as my best friend. Just go" Anjali shouted and Khushi with a tear drenched face left from there for forever without even giving a final glance to the two person standing before her.
Arnav on the other hand landed to earth hearing his sister yelling at his love, Khushi asking her to leave and seeing her leave so silently with such a teary face, he just control his unshed tears. He never thought some day like this would be there in his life. But it was fate and no one can do anything against what is written by the almighty. Arnav also knew now that the reason for her denial was this marriage thing and was some what happy with the plan which clicked his mind but the next sentence by his Di swept that little ray of happiness too.
"Promise me Chotte you're never gonna meet her again. Promise me that you'd plan nothing against her marriage, you'll make no efforts in stopping her marriage. Tumhe meri kasam."
Arnav was very angry with her for accusing Khushi but with these words and promise from her he hated her. He never knew his Di would be the reason of his tears. But today there she was the reason of all the pain he was going through. But he also couldn't break the promise, so with a broken heart he left from there and the house in search of some peace of mind.
Arnav, the sweet guy was drained out of sweetness after that day. He had actually become very harsh and the most with his Di. After that incident he never talked with her neither shared what he was going through. But Anjlai knew what mistake she had committed. She regretted her words and activities but it was too late. Because after that day Khushi was really gone. No one knew where she was and when Anjali had enquired from Khushi's family they had not said anything about her. So all that Anjali could do was regret and wish that her friend was happy and safe wherever she was and also wished her brother would someday forgive her which for now seemsed next to impossible. Arnav also knew Khushi would never come to him again but he could never leave that hope. So after that day the only hope of his life was to meet her some day and see if she'd really got someone better than him. And also her thoughts never left him but now he could only remember her tears stricken face. That gloomy, teary face of her's had replaced every other picture of her from his mind. He would cry every night wanting to get a glimpse of her wished god to bring her in front of him for only once but his wish was never granted.
This was actually not the ending I had planned but it went longer than I guessed and I didn't have the energy of writing any further so i ended it there. So if you all want, I can add up another chap to this. So do let me know.
