Chapter 3

"I saw kriya on her bed, she was crying, I went close to her. Her arm was bruised. Her lips were swollen. Her eyes were red. She hugged me and cried even more. I didn't have words to console her. What could I say to her? She had been raped... I cried with her too. After sometime, she wiped her tears. I wiped mine too. That was the last time I saw her cry.

"I said I think father should know about this, we have to tell him. We cant let that b*s**** win".

"I know, but telling them would do nothing she said getting up from the bed."

"Why wouldnt it, our parents need to believe us at least now. What happened last night with you cannot be proven a lie."

"They knew what happened. They permitted the act. They wanted it to happen. According to them, it is an act of salvation.

"What! How can it be? Why didnt they listen to you?"

"The answer is same for all questions. Why is the saint living in our palace? Why is he curing our brother without our consent? How could he enter your chambers without your permission last night? From where did he get the courage to threaten us? Why werent you allowed to leave your chambers after our encounter with him? Why was he permitted to s*r*w me and my life? Why Sharon? Who gave him this kind of power? Its because our parents blindly trust him. He was right Sharon and he proved it. No one in the family will trust us. We are doomed."

"Kriya just tell me what exactly happened"

"Later in the evening, after his talk with us in you chambers, he convinced mother that both of us are in grave danger and will lose our lives soon after getting married; he said that the only solution is by healing me.He asked everyone to hide this matter from you and in the mean time he shall heal me. He did it Sharon, he got what he wanted."

"No, not yet, we cant let him win kriya, we just cant, what happened with you shouldnt repeat, we must be careful."

"Its of no use Sharon, we need to burn to keep the family cool. A finger needs to be cut to save the hand. Said kriya and went to take a shower."

I too got ready and went to the court. I saw him there. He was smirking at all times. The day somehow passed. In the evening the whole family was having supper together. He was also there after finishing our meal, we were about to leave when he said he had to say something important. We sat listening to him.

He said "today I shall heal Sharon"

"No, you wont I replied back"

"My dear you wouldnt understand its importance not but in later future you will. You will die if I dont heal you." he said

"I'd better die than getting healed by you. I wish to stay pure and dying rather than living an impure life" I retaliated

"Sharon! Enough is enough, don't you get it, the saint is trying to help us, and you need to obey him. You will not be impure; after all he is a saint." Said my mother in anger.

"I still disagree... I" before I could complete I was interrupted by him.

He said "it will be pleasure if you cooperate and if you don't it will be torture" saying so he ordered the guards to take me to his chambers.

I was taken to his chambers and thrown on the bed. I couldnt believe that all this was happening with me. He had the guts to threaten me in front of my family and no one except kriya said a word against it, our own parents did not understand us.

That night was the worst torturous night of my life. I screamed, I shouted, I cried but no one listened, kriya tried to support me and my decision but she was cut before she could speak. I tried to push him away, to escape, to die but I couldn't. The sun never rose after the night, light never entered our lives again. I completely died that night. My virtue, my purity, my chastity, my freedom, everything was taken away from me that night. I lost my soul that night Sharon narrated. I can only ask one question now Swayam; Will you get married to a lifeless soul? Will you spend your whole life with an impure woman? Can you? she asked Swayam.

Swayam, who was already in tears stood up and left the chambers without sparing Sharon a glance. Sharon did not understand his behaviour.

"What if he does not like me? What if he isn't ready for this responsibility? Was I wrong in telling him everything?" these were the questions coming in Sharon's mind when her thoughts were disturbed by kriya. "what happened, is everything fine Sharon" she asked. "No" said Sharon looking towards her. Sharon noticed her smile after meeting reyaansh, it seemed more genuine. "I am sure everything must have gone well with you and jijaji." Kriya blushed when she heard her sister address reyaansh as jijaji and said "yes it did, I told him the truth and he had no problem with it." "Thank god, at least you got you wish granted." Said Sharon having tears in her eyes. "Sharon don't worry I'm sure he will understand you, I can see it in his eyes Sharon, I know he likes you." Kriya assured.

On the other hand Swayam went to reyaanshs chambers. Reyaansh saw him and said "you must have known the truth by now." "Yes I do, I just dont know how to react to it" Swayam answered. "You mean you did not tell anything to her, you left her alone with her sorrows. Did you convey your feelings towards her?" reyaansh asked. "No" Swayam replied siting on the chair and narrated the whole story. "are you insane, what in the world are you doing? You love her Swayam, you loved her ever since the first time you laid you eyes on her, and then why couldn't you say it?" Asked a frustrated reyaansh.

"I don't know, she had been through a very rough phase, I don't know whether she would feel the same or not."

"listen brother, she is sad and hurt, she herself is confused. She is asking you whether you want you marry her or not. She is thinking only about you in this whole matter. She does not want to hurt you in future that is why she told everything to you in the first place. And what are you doing, sitting here and feeling confused." Said reyaansh. After listening to him Swayam suddenly left for sharon's chambers.
