Chapter 2
Sharon takes swayam to her chambers. He had his eyes fixed on her. How could he, he was mesmerised. He could not speak anything.She asked him to take a seat. He smiled and sat. He saw her getting uncomfortable and asked her to take a seat. She nodded negatively.
He spoke "Sharon I hope you are not forced to get married to me. If you do not like me then you are free to refuse." Sharon replied "no, not at all. Its just that you need to know some things of my life before tying the sacred knot with me. I do not want to start a relationship with you on the base of a lie." "It does not matter much, now that we have already signed an agreement." Said swayam." "It does matter a lot. It is not a simple truth that it would not matter. Its a nightmare which will haunt me all my life. I am impure swayam." "What do you mean? Is everything fine Sharon?" he asked coming close to her. "I dont think so anymore swayam, right now I just have one proposal for you, after hearing my story, if you dont like me then you are free to refuse." she replied. He just sat down listening to her.
"it all started when my younger brother Bharat was diagnosed with haemophilia. There was no cure to it. We went to each and every doctor in the kingdom. We even invited doctors to the kingdom but no one could cure the disease. Bharats condition worsened even more. That is when my father heard about him. He was a begger on the streets. He was dressed as a saint. In normal circumstances we would think he is pretending and not even give him dakshina" She spoke with tears in her eyes.
With a pause, she continued "at that time kriya and me had just finished our education. We had enough knowledge to know that if science couldnt cure the disease then no other outside power could. We were taught by one of the renounced scholars Aryabhatta and Chanakya who later confirmed our suspicion on the fact that the saint could not cure our brother but our parents would not listen to us.We eventually agreed to bring the saint home to cure him."
Flashback
(the saint comes to Sharon on his first day at the royal palace.)
Shivamitra: good evening my lady, how are you, I see you arent that happy to see me.
Sharon: if you understand, then why are you here? The only reason you are allowed to stay here is because my parents trust you.
But Im sure of one thing that I will prove them wrong soon.
(She said it in an aggressive tone)
Shivamitra: oh my, I never expected the grand duchess to be so sharp.
I never knew that a girl of your kind would be that intelligent to understand my intentions. (He said smirking)
Sharon: what do you mean? (she stammers)
Shivamitra: you are right, I have not come hare to cure your brother.
Its just my luck that your brother feels better when im around.
The medicines I gave your brother are fake. They are just simple pain killers.
(Sharon was taken aback with such a response)
Sharon: what do you want? Why are you doing this?
Shivamitra: the women in your family are breathtakingly beautiful.
Sharon: you can never succeed in your plans and your biggest mistake is telling me about this.
Shivamitra: Im not as stupid as you think I am, my dear. Who in your family would believe you. All of them are blind and can never think of

A person from behind: I will
Shivamitra: kriya! What timing. Both sisters will fight me.
Kriya: we definitely would and will defeat you too.
Shivamitra: keep trying my dear, keep trying
(saying this he left the chambers)
Present day
"Many strange things did happen that evening; I was served food in my chambers. Its a family tradition that we must eat at least one meal of the day together. I was not allowed to leave my chambers either. But I was so engrossed in my own thoughts that I did not bother to see what was happening around me, little did I know what the future awaits for me" Sharon said.
"The sun shone again the next day, I woke up not happy at all, I was worried about his challenge. I realized that I hadnt met kriya since last evening so thus I went to her chambers to meet her. I was walking in the corridor the lead to her chambers, I was just a few meters away from her chambers when I saw the him (the saint) come out. He was smirking. He gave me this dirty look. I could not tolerate it. So I rushed inside. What I saw inside crushed my world. I partially died that day." Sharon spoke with tears in her eyes and terror evident on her face. Swayam could not see her like this; with great difficulty he controlled himself from hugging her tight and consoling her.
