Chapter 4

He saw Sharon crying and kriya consoling her. he walked inside and kriya stood up. He asked "can I have a word alone with Sharon, please bhabhi." Kriya blushed, smiled and said "sure, I'll see you both downstairs after your talk." saying so, she left. swayam came close to Sharon, he gently wiped her tears and held her hand. he intently looked at her moist eyes.

"could there be anyone more pure and innocent than her. her eyes, they make me blank every time I look into them. I'd want to spend my whole life just looking at them." he thought.

"could there be anyone more loyal and understanding than him. His eyes, they reflect his honesty and love. Would I be fortunate enough to spend my whole life just looking at them." she thought

They both continued looking at each other for a long time until Swayam broke the trance, he kneeled down.

"Sharon I don't know how to propose, I don't know how to express my feelings, I don't know how to be romantic, all I know is that I love you.

I am an absolute bore; I lead a very simple and colourless life. I don't know what to tell you, I don't know how to console you, all I know is that I need you.

I am such a duffer that I don't even know how much I love you. I won't say that I can't live without you, I can. I just don't want to. I want to live the rest of my life with you by my side. Will you marry me Sharon?" Swayam confessed.

Sharon kneeled down. She clutched his collar.

"how dare you talk like this, You said you don't know how to propose or be romantic, You don't need to Swayam. All I want is your love. You said you are a duffer and don't know how much you love me, you don't need to Swayam. Love cannot be measured. All that matters to me is that you love me, I don't ask for more. You say you are boring, I don't think that I can ever be bored in your company. You say you don't know how to have fun, neither do I. but that's why we love each other, as time passes we both will learn. I love you Swayam and all I need is you. I too want to live the rest of my life with you by my side." Saying so, Sharon hugged him tight.He hugged her back. They broke apart and stood up.

He gently cupped her face and said "I love you." He kissed her pink and tear stained cheeks. She looked down as she felt shy to look at him in the eye. His mere touch affected Sharon in a huge way. He held her by the waist and said

"Sharon If I ask you for something, will you give it to me?" Sharon was surprised by such a question.

She replied "of course Swayam, I can't ever deny you. What do you want?"

"Your smile Sharon, that's all I want" said Swayam. She looked down and smiled. Her cheeks were still pink. Swayam was so lost in her. He had never seen such beauty ever in his life before.

"Is there a better definition of beauty, innocence, and purity than her?" He thought.

His thoughts were broken by the servant who came to inform them to come down to the court. Sharon smiled and gestured him to come with her and she walked along. He pulled her by the hand with a force much that the she bumped on his hard muscular chest.

"Sharon there is one more thing that I need to ask." After a pause he asks "where is he now" in a serious tone.

Sharon's smile vanishes which is noticed by Swayam. He immediately feels guilty for asking such a question.

"I am sorry Sharon, I didn't mean to hurt you, its just that I cannot tolerate anyone hurting you, whoever it may be, even myself. You may think I am possessive but that how I am" Said Swayam.

"He has gone for a pilgrimage and wouldn't be back before a month.

And one more thing, stop apologizing, you didn't hurt me. You have right on me. You are not possessive, you're just protective and I feel secured in your presence." She said with a smile.

"Come now, we need to go, everyone must be waiting for us downstairs" she said.

"Do we need to go" he asked.

She nodded her head in approval

"Do you want to go" he asked

She nodded her head in disapproval and said "but we need to, so let's go."

As soon as they were proceeding towards the court they met simrita. Simrita's happiness knew no bound when she saw the smile on sharon's face.

she said "I assume both of you are ready for your marriage." Both of them blushed and nodded in approval.

"Well I'm have come here personally to inform you that your official engagement date has been fixed. You both will exchange rings next week one day after kriya and reyaansh. The date of your marriage will also be fixed soon." She informed.

"I am so happy for both of you. I was also thinking that why don't all of you take a tour of Jaipur before the engagement? I asked kriya and reyaansh and they agreed, what about both of you?" She asked knowing the answer would be a yes.

"I am ready if Swayam agrees to it" Sharon said

"I am good with it if you will be my tour guide." Swayam said making sharon blush.

"So I take that as a yes" said simrita.

They nodded and walked towards the court.

They saw everyone waiting for them in the court.

"what took you so long" asked maharaj bhuvan

"I kept them engaged your highness, I am sorry for the delay." replied simrita

"its alright" said maharaj bhuvan with a smile

He sighed in relief after seeing Sharon smile.

"anyways I need to speak to all four of you, simrita must have informed all of you about engagement dates, before that Sharon and kriya can give a tour of Jaipur to Swayam and reyaash. Now my question is that would all of you go together or as couples?" asked gautham.

"We go as couples" replied reyaansh as he did not want anyone to destroy his date with kriya.

"so its decided, you may leave now" gautham said and started conversing with bhuvan.

As they were about to leave simrita called Sharon and kriya and took them to her chambers.She asked both of them to sit. Both kriya and Sharon found this weird as simrita was never so formal with them. Even though she was their aunt and ten years older than them, she behaved like their sister.

She finally broke the silence and said "what is wrong with both of you, are you insane by any chance."

"what is wrong bua (means aunt)"asked kriya.

"both of you are calling your future husbands by their name and you are asking me what is wrong. Are those the values we gave you. I never address my husband by his name even after 7 years of my marriage. Have you seen your mother address your father by his name, no right?Even though theirs was a love marriage and look at both of you. All I want you to understand is that I don't want this to be repeated again."Kriya and Sharon understood their mistake and were guilty.

"We are sorry bua, you are right we should have known our limits" said Sharon.

"It's alright, now go back to your chambers and take good rest. You need to look fresh tomorrow. By the way, what's the matter with your smiles?

I must say the mithila princes have cast a magical spell on both of you.

Simritha said in a teasing manner and krisha blushed on the comment.

"am I dreaming, just look at your cheeks, okay now go from here.

She said. Kriya and Sharon smiled and left her chambers.

At night after dinner, Swayam was getting restless; he wanted to see his Sharon. So he went to her chambers discreetly. He did not find her. He looked everywhere and then saw her standing in the balcony. He went close to her and hugged her from behind and kissed her cheek.

"I love you" she said closing her eyes and feeling his warmth.

"I love you too my love" he said while turning her around.

He looked at her lovingly; she reflected back the love for him.

He said "I wonder how the moon still has the guts to be in front of you tonight. If I were the moon I would have hidden myself in the blanket of clouds. Nothing is more beautiful than you Sharon, nothing at all." They stayed in each others embrace for some more time in silence. After sometime Swayam left Sharon's room and both of them retired to their beds. Tomorrow is defiantly going to be a big day for them
