It was early morning time..a ray of golden yellow light peeped in through curtains disturbing her sleep.she pulled her comforter up to safeguard her sleeping cells so that she could take nap for some more minutes..but as if god was not so kind on her.. and her alarm clock blared waking her in wide,finally with no choice she crept out from her soft fluffy bed covers and sat in lying position adjusting her back with bed post she opened up her eyes and then recalled nights incidence...her dinner at rey's house..his past, then dance and..and.. the kiss they shared... she ran her hands through her disheveled hairs and words from her conversion with her mom flashed in her... she recalled what her mom said...*FLASHBACK*Kriya almost ran down the street in that chilly night, she was crying bitterly entering her house not knowing what happened exactly... while kissing him was the most beautiful experience of her life... but something was wrong with her, she had this sinking feeling in pit of her stomach and she broke into cold sweat, although outside temperature was windy and cold airs were blowing, but she was having sweat pearls all across her brows and palms... frantically pulling off her coat she ran across her kitchen pouring a glass of ice cold water and gulped it down her dry throat, that calmed her bit and she slides down the walls of kitchen settling on tiles...her head was in her hands and finally her dams of water broke, her eyes could no longer keep them intact inside...Her sniffing increased seconds by seconds and she screamed..."How could I damn it??""I..I betrayed him...i betrayed Rahul...he is a married man, i have committed a sin." she covered her face with hands and fresh set of tears rolled out her eyes.she kept on mumbling..."I am sorry Rahul.. I.. i am really sorry." and her murmurs came to halt with a shrill voice of her ringtone...her eyes wandered towards the screen of cell phone which was kept just beside her... it was her mom call's with trembling hands she received it and sniffed to control her self."Kriya!!! Aami maa bolchi... kemon aacho??" her mom asked in excitement. {Kriya!!! Its me Mom..How are you??}
"Maa.. Aami bhaalo aaschi na." kriya spilled her feelings as she couldn't keep this to herself anymore she needed to break free herself of this feeling.
{Mom..I am not fine.}
Her mom sensed something was terribly wrong with her daughter and concern took over her heart..."Kriya shona!! Ki holo."
{Kriya!! sweetheart!! what happened}
"Maa.. Aami bisbasghat karit... Aami kutishit maa."
{mom..I betrayed... I am bad mom}
"shona...Ki holo..."she once again asked over receiver so that her child who was crying in so much pain will open up and tell her about the miseries she is suffering...
{Sweetheart..what happened}
"Aami kharap...buhat kharap." Kriya broke down into more tears.
{I am bad... very bad}
"Kriya... tumi taratari bolo..aami pareshaan" her mom demanded with authority...
{Kriya..say it quickly.. I am tensed}
She finally wiped her tears from back of her hands and said"Maa.. i betrayed Rahul.. I.. was there at Rey's house and." she then finally narrated her whole story what happened at his house and then how close they got while dancing and about the kiss too, she first thought of skipping that part but then she knew it was her mother her best friend with whom she can share her feelings whether raw or ripped her mom takes it all with heart and then guides kriya and sharon the right path.
At her last line about her kiss with rey and how she left his house on watching myra's pic and her feeling of cheating upon her now dead husband, her mom smiled at those naive thoughts of her daughter.
"Hey maggo, kato dam pagol tumi meye" she exclaimed and chuckled a bit.
{Ohh.. god, how much mad, you are girl}
Kriya got frustrated at this and then said getting agitated..."Maa.. i am here wailing and bawling like manic and you are laughing at me... what so funny about it.."
her mom again let calm smile and then tried to make her daughter understand.."See kriya..Rahul is gone far away, he can't come back even though how much you want it, but some things are on role play of nature and it always ends the way destiny wants it to...
Shona you are trapping yourself in the relationship or more precisely in situation which will give you misery more than joy... I agree there were many good moments of your relationship with Rahul, but then again you can't survive your whole life on past... because life survives on fresh breath from 'today' the day in which you are breathing in..that is 'Now' If your past is dead now, it doesn't matter how beautiful face it had yesterday... You are trying to make it work like this..and living in this void in this darkness even a path of light has been closed by you... and you are constantly playing Tug of war with destiny to stay those paths shut... but kriya don't do this you can't lick your own wounds... do come across someone in whom you can find solace.. the one who seems perfect to you... remember one thing Never Belittle Love...because its once in a life time opportunity so don't disgrace it you are getting it for the second time my child..hold it with both the arms and embrace it..." she sighed with finality to her thoughts...
"Maa...I feel i am doing bad things to his wife and to rahul..." kriya spoke after long pondering over what her mother said...
she inhaled deeply.."Kriya.. don't lie to yourself now... otherwise you will loath yourself in future for not respecting the love you were getting in form of Reyaansh.. rahul will always want you to be taken care off.. you was his princess and he will always want you to be happy no matter with whom you will be... and about Reyaansh's ex- wife... If she wanted to, she would have been with him years back but she has some other world to take care off..."
"Maa... you think I can again fall in love??" she raised her eyebrows now feeling to some extend contended, that she is not doing anything to be called sinful..
"Shona..muster up courage to believe those three little words again.." she knew her kriya is now getting what she was exactly meaning to say...
"you sure..." still kriya was dubious...
"A secret... Amake or tumar baba ko Reyaansh khoob bhalo lagache jab tumi bidyalya jaschi..." she laughed loudly after this teasing her daughter...
{A secret... Me and your father always liked Reyaansh since you were in school}
"now.. you are teasing me mom.." she slightly faked angry and yet smiled with rosy shade creeping up her cheeks...
"Okay..okay now promise me you won't cry and will give this new silver lining and as per you say 'signs' a new dimension and will open up for love in your life..." she took promise from kriya...
kriya nodded her headed like a kid and cleaning up her runny nose from this crying she spoke..."Thank you maa... I love you... you make most complicated things easy for me with such a smoothness..."
{ I love you}
"Tell those three words...Aami tomake bhalobashi to that Singhania Boy, not me and for rest... this is for what mothers are sweetheart, okay now its getting to late..you sleep well shona and wake up with new aspirations... shubhoratri..." she beamed with happiness on knowing that her child will again come across love...
"Shubhoratri maa..." she ended call and then stood up smiling and proceeded to her room to wake up for a fresh start...

*FLASHBACK ENDS*
She smiled thinking about that heart to heart talk with her mom, since childhood it was this silent pact between her mom, sharon and her..that when ever they were high on emotions they talk in Bengali, as her mom was Bengali and father was Punjabi she knew both languages and always imbibed in her both cultures..
Here thoughts got broken again by that annoying ringtone of her cell..she swear to change it as soon as possible, thinking who will be calling her at this early she checked the name flashing..It say's Rey... a grin spread across her face and she lifted the call with goosebumps running down underneath her thick flesh..
"Good morning." she coolly wished..
"Kri..." She heard a chocking nia who was sobbing slightly too.
"Nia..what happened baby." immediately pushing the covers off she stood up all alarmed...
"Kri.. dad.."
"what happened to him Nia?" kriya got frantic and walked up and down her room..
"This morning when i came back, I found him sleeping on couch..i thought he might be tired so i didn't woke him up and left for my room but even after trying so hard he is not getting up just sleeping and I checked his pulse, they are normal but he his sweating like a pig kri... i am scared." Nia told her every detail she could gather up...
"Listen nia...i will be there in no time with Dr.collins,can you call up sharon,she will run to your house." kriya tried to calm her...but only she knew how much her insides were busting to be their immediately.
"They left this morning for holidays kri..."
Kriya remembered her sister and swayam were about to leave for their vacations today itself.
"Ohh..Okay..Nia..you are a brave kid, just wait for me i will their in 10 minutes." with this they both put down the receiver.
kriya ran upto Dr.Collins who happens to be her neighbor and a general physician too, she didn't even let him change into something better and made him sit with her in car and zoomed to rey's house which is just few blocks away..

Doctor came out checking rey... and then motioned kriya and Nia to have briefing about him...
"See.. kriya, Mr.singhania is having a case of Mononucleosis."
"What is that doctor??" kriya asked with confusion.
"Ahem...its often called... umm." he showed discomfort in presence of Nia.
"Ohh..don't worry sir.. i am quiet matured for my age, you can share it in front of me and he is my dad so i have every right to know" he looked at kriya for affirmation who nodded her head approving.
"Its often called as kissing disease.. its basically transmitted through saliva of infected person to uninfected one." he said and watched them to have their expressions..kriya was silent for sometime and Nia blasted with fury..
"He kissed somebody...Now just let him wake up... I will eat him up raw.." she over reacted at this fact...
"Nia...baby, shh..he is sleeping just stop now..we will talk about that later." kriya calmed her a bit...
Turning her attention to doctor she asked him.." So..now what are you gonna do and any precautions for us?"
"He will be having fatigue, drowsiness,fever, sore throat, swollen tonsils and swollen liver too..he may get rashes too if it gets severe...For that i am prescribing you some medicines get them and for food intakes he will be on liquids for a week... or may be some boiled veggies, and i will visit you in three days time.. i think he should recover soon as its early we found this, from his situation i am estimating he got infected yesterday night only.." doctor summed up with handing kriya prescription paper and then moved to leave...
"Thank you doctor and sorry for making you rush." kriya apologized..
"Ohh..no dear its my duty after all... and keep in check he do have someone by his side all the time, as he will be weak and all in pain too." she nodded and escorted him to door...

It was half hour later when rey woke up with dry mouth and headache and the first thing he saw was a grumpy, no a very grumpy Nia sitting near his head and looking at him as if she will just spat at him for something which he don't know.. with difficulty he got up and silently with cold attitude nia helped him..
"Umm... hey... kiddo..wassup why so angry??" he finally said gulping down hard to wet his soar throat so that he can utter few words...
Instead of answering him she handed him a glass of water and then sat again beside him with a thud... he sensed something serious...
and at that time kriya came in with packages of medicines and some of her clothe bag as for a weeks time she will be staying with them so that rey can recover fast... she arranged the medicines with thumping sounds giving rey more and more scary jolts... both nia and kriya were eying him as if he has committed a sin... finally after getting lot of cold vibes, he said...
"What's with you both, first she was giving me those glares(he pointed at nia)and now you too, as if i have gravely done something wrong"
"You have kissed someone, who was having this disease..what is... Mono..Mononucleosis" Nia finally let out her anger and blasted at him...
"I did WHHHATTT???" he tried to yell loudly but it came out as shrills...when he heard his kid saying that he have kissed someone...

Rey shifted his gaze towards kriya, he had his mind hovering over kiss they had shared the other night, kriya stole her eyes away and meekly uttered while pouring out him a spoonful of medicine syrup..
"She meant, you had kissed somebody who have this infection of mononucleosis..and that's why you are infected with this." with this she shoved that bitter magenta liquid in his mouth making him babble words..
Nia tried to protest but a single serious glare from rey made her tactics stop and she dashed out banging door behind..these times were rare when ever rey have scolded Nia because he couldn't it was never ever in his outlook to be angry or have a up bringing of his little princess on accords of being temperamental...But at times whenever things goes out of control and Nia needs a little amount of it, it just worked by his single eye gesture that Nia understands seriousness of circumstances...
on having surety of Nia being out of room's ambit rey turned facing kriya's back..."Listen kriya.." but she was far away from replying busy with prescription arranging his medicines on side table.. again trying his luck he gulped down a lump moisting his choked throat..."kriya please at least turn around.." but again no reaction from her, she just nodded her head and continued with her work..
rey took limping steps with support of bed post and turned her slightly towards him, she was silent with her eyes stealing away from his.."Kriya i haven't kissed any one..." she faced him with confusion, rey pressed his lips together before letting out further.."except the one we shared other night." that made a scarlet hue creep over kriya's cheek bone, which was not missed by rey still he acted as oblivious to it...
"then how come you catched..." but for her rey completed it...he left her arm and shrugged being embarrassed..."um.. after you left, i was frustrated so thought having a chilly strolling night but at juncture down the alley i came across a smoking joint group, spreading over street so..so.. i just puffed a cigar from them... may be one of them must be having this disease.." finally he vent out fumbling fearing her reaction on getting with facts that he smoked from a random vagabond...
but before she could say anything door opened with a thud and a charged up Nia blared..."you smoked yesterday night..." she exclaimed more than anyone he got this clear he is answerable to his little kid...
"no...no...yeah.. i didn't mean to do it, but..." words came crashing out of his weak demeanor, considering the fact he was feeling tired and sick of this choking windpipe... Nia looked at him with wide eyes and rey motioned his eye balls from nia to kriya to and fro, kriya was equally surprised by this sudden gate crash of nia...
on getting hold of the situation kriya leaned till Nia's level and cupped her face..."look, Nia your dad was just being this stupid and kind of guttery with thoughts... and he hasn't smoked in years... it was just by the pull situations he got himself into smoking for once last night.." she tried to make it not more difficult but rey knitted his eyebrows in frown on choice of kriya's words to describe things...
"thanks for that kriya..but you could have used some nice words for me.." he pointed at her, to which kriya just rolled her eyes and concentrated on nia..
Nia raised her finger warning rey.."Is there anything else, you should be telling me?".. rey swallowed hard..."probably not.. i promise..."he sighed deep in relief on convincing her...
kriya gave a last look to him and before leaving with nia she said those words..."you take a nap, till we fix you some breakfast... and Nia baby, don't worry he is paying for what he did already.. he won't be having tasty meals and also he have to go through bitter medication process, so now don't be heartless on him.." nia high fived her on that and showed rey a thumbs down...
"Are you gonna stay here in my house??" that was next thing which popped in his mind although his insides were dancing at this thought of having her around him, nursing him in the mere parameters...
Nia jumped even before kriya could answer him.."Yes Kri will be staying here, till a 33 year old man who consider himself a collegiate gets rid of this alien viruses."
"but..I can take care of myself, even you are here for me" rey balanced his upper body with bedpost and placed a hand on his aching rib cage..Nia rolled her eyes mocking at him.."That i can see very well, listen Mr. Singhania I can't baby sit you so, kri.. is a help,now you off to bed or my worse will haunt you" she spoke with a violent streak in her sound echoing..
Kriya was wondering what kind of conversion if taking place in between this father daughter combo, her eye balls were shuttling like a tennis ball from nia's court to rey's side..recovering from this new faced reality of reyaansh and nia's relation she raised her meek voice.."I think Nia we should be leaving for his boiled supper and that would be a good lesson too, so what say partner shall we?" she extended her hand tugging Nia's small elbow along with her..
"Thanks by the way...just what i needed. two woman teaming against me..one is 10 year old hurricane and another one is my sleep hampering erotic dancing diva..lord save me before my mind and heart stops working.." he groaned covering his comforter till head..
