CHAPTER-1Rey and kriya have work place in locality of busy Quentin road... rey owns a cafe and his bakery is well known in town..kriya has a dance academy just one floor his bakery, there were clashes between both on regular basis,because of constant noises from Kriya's floor every time and that would disturb rey's customers... so he used to get annoyed and miffed with her and used to barged into her place. It was like scenario of battlefield every now and then...
but from last few months whole lane was silent. At kriya's studio there was no thumping of beats, as she left teaching couple dances.. so students dropped in between and she have chosen a very silent life after her husbands death...
Rey was so not himself,after his wife divorced him.It all looked like an ill fated cursed dream, passers by and neighbors knew their personal miseries but nobody could do more then wishing that somehow they both get back on roads where it used to be a lively and cheery atmosphere..whole market area had become laconic..
Since swayam and rey were high school bestie and kriya was sharon's sibling. They both knew each other in long circle...but never were such close to have a cozy relation, and due an icy bond which they shared at work it was hard for them to blow the fires away..
Once rey was locking his cafe's glass doors when he heard a soft pace music from upper floor which made him follow up the voice..it was around 10 in night and kriya's dance academy normally closes down at 8 in evening so he just out of curiosity climbs up the stair and witnessed an empty reception desk, nobody was there,but still that faint music was coming from last Rehearsal hall.He dragged himself to peering in to find out clues if by chance any burglar has broken in or something...
But what he visages inside those heavy glass shield made him speechless divinity was a lowest remark for it, a feminine frame clad in black satin dance costume taking constant fouett turns under milky moonlight shining like a Nymph walking down the avenues of cherry blossoms and crystal waters..
he saw a very fragile kriya dancing alone.. envisioning someone with her taking postures for couple dance but nobody was in actual there with her..which made rey more and more confused, when Kriya reached to her epitome of agony and stopped moving she dropped on ground in a bundle and cried loudly for her husband 'Rahul'..she yelled.."why rahul, why you left me all alone..."
and after that she crumpled a piece of paper and wiping her tears left for changing room..rey hurried himself inside and read that paper leaf it was a couple dance competition invitation addressed to kriya..things got clearer to him as till know kriya and Rahul have been contesting for this annual Manhattan club competition for last 3 years,though rahul was not a professional dancer like kriya but was not less than any dancer also...
He heard sound of clamp being opened, so left Rehearsal hall and waited down stairs near his cafe's entrance pretending to close his already closed shutters.
when she reached the last steps..he glanced at her pale and blank face and that very moment kriya also met with his eyes, he just passed a warm greeting smile...to which she replied "Bye Reyaansh." and took him by surprise, they were never on first names basis it used to be always something or other weird out of the planet names..
After rahul's death it was their first vocal conversation earlier it used to be stares from distances or just passing by nods that's it.. so he just on prompt called her..."Kriya.." and took a long pause while stuffing his hands in cozy pockets of him brown jacket.. she turned at his call.."Uh-hh what? "
"If..you don't mind can i walk you down till home.."he hassled with words and fought back the urge of making a run to escape everything.. she gave an agreeing nod adding up further.."I will be heading toward sharon's place house today they have this house warming the in morning.." he lead the way walking at her side as sharon and swayam next door to him they can share their journey,a walk of silence commenced...

After few staling reticence he muttered some courage.."I..I am sorry about rahul's death..." Kriya jammed her heels to cold cemented pavement and choked upon words.."why.. why all of sudden after months of his death Rey??"he was mum for seconds stole his eyes away from her piercing ones... and then answered quietly " because I myself was a sorry figure since past months." again started walking down the street...
She knew his wife had left him over some issues..clearing up her throat she followed him.."I met Myra (rey's ex wife) a week ago, she was at rahul's funeral also and then I again had a glimpse of her's when sharon took me to some elite party a week back..."
that alerted rey's big ears he became more interested to know about myra's details and tried her about his estranged wife, but before he could say any thing, kriya got his point and with letting him have any more ideas she said "We just exchanged pleasant greetings and she is doing fine, had moved on in her life too may be.." with this they reached at their destination, sharon opened door for kriya and invited rey to for next days Brunch party, which he accepted hesitantly...
but while getting into house kriya turned back and just whispered audible enough to hear for rey..."Rey try to have new dimensions to your life, bring on bright linings again, let the darkness be pass yourself and read the signs of nature.."
to which he passed a small smile...crossing the small pathway he got into his house... leaving kriya behind staring at twinkling stars... "easy to say hard to follow na... " and she let a tear escape edges of eye...

Next day morning rey did attended his friends house warming party,its was just four of them and few of their relatives... they had nice lunch and a pleasant home tour after which kriya comforted on pool side with her toes dipped in water and started waddling it..rey came and placed himself beside her ..."Hi"
she politely replied with a meek "hey..." he just moved his head in negative direction...to which she asked.."what"...
he gave a short mocking laugh "yesterday night somebody asked me to have silver linings and to read the signs...but i see that person is not quiet a follower what she preaches to others"...
kriya stick her gaze downwards and said.."its hard rey...have you forgotten Myra yet?? even after she ditched you...I guess no...then how can i even think of getting rahul out of me when he was just coming back home to make love to me... he was the one who taught me what love is.."
rey just delivered a confused expression..she smiled and let her words out.." we were both trying out for baby..everything was perfect...he was coming from his office to spend some memorable time with me,he bought flowers and wine on his way... he knew i always liked red wines...and also bought some stuff from Victoria's secrets for me.." speaking last bit she was embarrassed and quickly hided that.."but while crossing road for chocolates heaven shop..some teenagers rushed over him...we were about start our new family and have new additions but my only family broke apart that very instant..my husband was victim of some highly rushing blood transfused teenage manics..."
rey didn't knew what to say..he comprehended is his loss was more or hers...he just couldn't fathom the whole truth...but on instincts stretched his arm around her shoulder and spontaneously kriya laid her head in side ways over rey's hand crying her heart out...

Upon realizing what she has been doing,she came out of hug..murmured a short sorry... looking side ways...
rey declined it.." don't be sorry and its okay..." and for changing things he said..."i tired calling Myra and talked to her yesterday, as i wanted to have her back in life, and to give my self a chance.."
Kriya looked at him in confusion..."what? you only said find the hidden meanings and read the signs..so this is it..i am trying to have my fallen marriage back..." rey replied understanding her silent question...
he sighed in disappointment..."but she straight away said she didn't want to meet me and neither interested in giving a chance to our broken relation...its all over for her.."
kriya gave him a empathizing look which he understood clearly "don't sympathies with me..i deserve this... i was the one who wasn't able to fulfill a woman's wishes, her satisfactions, i was npt the one with stable mind, some times i even feel like a bipolar personality..."
she without pondering much whispered..."Yeah sometimes I also thought that..." and then immediately bit her tongue...
"whhattt"
"umm... i meant for bipolar part not about that satisfaction one" she covered up.."still how could you?and here i thought i will help you out..." rey snapped at her and tried to get up...
"wait..whhat kind of help??" she questioned...rey shoved a paper in her lap and said..."with this... why dont you take part in this competition?"
it was the same invitation for which she was kriya crying before night... and a lump formed in her throat..."I...I..I cant... i don't have a partner..."
"for god sake you train some amazing dancers at academy try them... plus i know you need this prize money to save dance studio, as its struggling under legal battles of rent and etc, everybody knew it was your dream to own that studio by yourself..this money will help you for that..." he blurted out and then regretted...
"How...how do you know about that..."kriya then followed her eyes to swayam and sharon who were continuously staring at their direction... and very well grasped that they have sent him to convince her for this competition, so that she can save her academy...
"You know what you just a... leave it anyways" and she tried stood up to move away but then stopped...
"will you help me with Myra... i know you guys do meet up...can you give her my letter..."and he forwarded an envelope which he was carrying in his back pocket...
she looked astonished..."This was the pure reason you came and talked to me...you are such a pathetic jerk Singhania...Urghh..." she was hell angry...
"Pleasee... i need it..." he said with utmost purity in his voice... which she couldn't deny off.
"Okay fine I will give it to her."saying so got up dusting her grey dress...then something got into her mind...
"Hey cupcake guy...just the way you make your dishes dance..will you dance with me in that performance..."
"Mee..."rey pointed towards himself... to which she nodded..."ohh..no..no..you are getting it all wrong i cant dance..."
"leave that up to me...just say yes..."
"No..that would be a national disgrace." she crunched her little nose and then with a devil twinkle in her eyes she worded her thoughts..
"Okay..no dance..means no letter...decide it up soon..."and without thinking for even a second he replied..." I am up for it..."
Kriya patted his shoulder and said..."You are an intelligent chap.." but stopped on hearing him..
"but just don't wear these ugly greys and browns with me please.. they suck and i hate their dullness...yuckyy"
this blew her off and she kicked him hard on his butt which made him land in pool flat on face, plashing water out..
"You are a Gross creep" kriya roared back at him
"whattt...the hell was that for." rey shouted while coming out from pool, dripping droplets from hairs everywhere around...
"serves you rite, besides that be in your tracks tomorrow morning at 6 sharp in academy..."
"6 in morning..how..." he complained
"remember letter..."she waved that white envelope from back while leaving...
"Fine..." without any option he gave into a new field which he was still unsure of..

On the new break of sunlight, rey was all packed up and ready to enter practice hall in his tracks...he could hear a soft tunes being already echoing in environment.. he proceeded towards the faint rhythms and the vision in front burned him from inside..he could feel the radiance around him..as those colors on kriya's milky skin and sun-kissed body reflected the glow and her petite feminine structure was taking heavenly postures of yoga stretches...
"I told her not to wear greys and browns, but she is wearing a vibrant yellow" he gulped hard to keep a focus on his mission as she was reflecting all her energies, reflecting clarity of decisions, her every stance said that she has relieved herself from 'burnouts', her exhaustion... and this was not so good for rey to keep himself concentrated,he stared at her.. when she was bending down reaching out for her toes...
his eyes were fixed on her lower back... that wafer thin waist moved first left and then right...she tilted her head back and saw him practically gawking at her...Kriya felt awkward but then maintaining her straight position cleared her throat...
"Ahem..ahem.." she fake coughed...
"ohh..sorry..actually all this is new to me...so...so...look please have someone else on board . i will ruin everything for you.." rey said in one breathe...
"Hey easy.. Mr.baker i know what i am getting myself into, it was rahul's wish to see this academy flourishing, so i wont stake anything for his dreams..."
"then why are you making me do it..."rey raised the simple basic questioned which was moving into his head since the other day like a ping pong ball always bouncing at him with a horror to injure...
"because i have already seen you being well skilled with your hands and feet.."to this he passed a blank look...
she sheepishly added"Once i was walking down the back lane, so got a chance to peep through your kitchens back window and saw how efficiently you managed your cup cakes, pastries and other delicacy single handedly... moving hands flexibly here and there.."
"So..that is my work you see..how does it connects with dance..." he arched his brows in skepticism.
"Uff...just forget that you are here for competition, your work itself needs you to be dancing...just the way you swirl hands while making doughs, and the way you tap feet while moving from one counter to another same thing is to be done here." she explained him as if he was a primary class student...and his gaze was fixed on that one trail of sweat line snaking across her upper mid riff to her navel...and her bosoms heaving all the while taking breathes...
"come on lets start with your walk and then we will do some stretches.."
"and what if I say..i wont dance??" he fired the last query...
Kriya thought about that and then replied with a grin..."then forget about your letter, it wont reach myra ever in life...and believe me when i say that..."she warned him...
"okay...enough..now get started with your walk.. come from that end to this one towards me, have some romance in it.."
sighing deep he dropped his last hope and initiated with things..he walked as if walking in joggers park, making her she shout out her lungs..."halt"
"Go back...and now start again, walk as if i am myra, you are missing me like hell.. their is lot to say in, but you really don't know from where to start.You want to have a new beginning, so have those emotions and keep walking to me..."Kriya briefed him..He knew what he has to do for getting it rightly so instead of following her instructions he kept on advancing towards her...never leaving contact with her chocolate brown orbs and remembering those words of her about having new dimensions in life, reading the signs of life.. how she told him about rahul's accident and what was he bringing for her...
"is she still wearing those Victoria secrets lingerie...will i ever have privilege to see her in them..are we gonna have those wines together sometimes...??ohh godd what am I thinking... rey she is someone else widow they were happily married..." he mentally kicked himself for being such freak..
all the while loading himself with such libido desires he didn't tracked the distanced covered and here he was mere an inch apart from her.. his body penetrates her aura and puffed his hot breathe on her forehead... with a swift flash he grabbed her thin waist line and caressed the path from her navel to tops chest lining...she was constantly observing his every single move...with her doe eyes fixed in his...fluctuating her eyelashes with drowsiness from the heats rushing through their bodies...
She asked him..."rey what do you think you..."
"Shhh..." He kept his finger on her mouth making her go quiet..."Don't say anything..." He whispered...They remained silent for few minutes, feeling rhythm of rain water drizzling and hitting window panes...
"Listen to our heartbeats, hear the hidden melody in them...they wanna say things to you...feel them, feel the intensity kriya... acknowledge the tensions in your muscles..." he said gently and moved around her...placing his hands over her eyes, making them close...rey paused and mouthed in her ears from crook of her neck...
"Feel the music notes in heartbeats baatcutter... when my waves touch yours...don't you get solace?? don't you think that it is some other world..like a parallel one...away from all this pains and agony... may be like floating in heavenly clouds... don't run away from my heartbeats kriya, make them yours... embrace them..."He summed last line with a soft whirl of warm airs behind her soft nape..
kriya opened her eyes.. It was like she was drowned in trance of his thoughts...then coming back to reality she looked up to find him having a sly laugh playing on his lips...
"Whhaattt??" she questioned...
he couldn't help but to burst out in fits of laughter..." Lo..look at you..." he pointed at her face...and then instantly coming dangerously near to her face..and boring his caramel orbs into her warm chocolate he let himself out...
"Now This is whatt romance is... baatcutter..." he scoffed again while grazing his thumb on her cheek beds... and then leaving her to turn crimson red...having thoughts about her own silly reaction over his stupid prank...
Kriya composed herself..." Now time for pay back... start of your stretches...and don't worry i will make sure that you will cry out for my name at night while wanting to have a good night's sleep" she winked and turned to have her sipper...
"Now what is she upto..." he scratched his head and followed her up...

since it is a small story so some might feel it to be little bit paced up but trust me guys it won't make anybody feel vague...
Keeping my fingers crossed, i am waiting for the reviews...
