"Good Night Rehan"

She sat on the wooden table in the dark room only lit by the dim light of her study table, She didn't move, she just sat on the bench and smiled to herself, she found it funny how she fell for a guy so much that he meant the life to her, that she started to think that he would take her away from the dark and cruel world, that she thought he would love her like never get hurt. She was ready to give the world for him, and so was he-well atleast she thought he was. It was one of those nights when she could feel the pain scrunching inside her, slowly eating her. It was that kind of pain a patient feels after knowing that they're leading to a slow painful death, the kind of pain which brings back memories along with tears. She looked at the dark blue sky lit by few twinkling stars, through her window she closed and wished "Just Once, I want to meet him just once, I want to see him just once" she opened her eyes and started writing .

Drop one. Her tears were left loose already when she felt steps coming towards her. "You're still up?' she heard the little voice and quickly wiped her moistened eyes

"Yes sweetheart I needed to complete a chorus' she said faking a smile.

"Have u been crying again?' she heard as the steps came near.

"No stupid, nothing of that sort' she said

"You know my teacher said its bad to cry, and its even worse to lie" he said and stood near the chair she had been sitting on.

"Oh, what else did she say?' she said settling him securely in her lap." I would love to hear them would you tell me?'

""Don't try to change the topic you chalu' he said with a cute dimpled smile.

"Where did you learn that word from?' she asked

"I heard Neha aunty use it once' he said shrugging his shoulders "See, again you're trying to change the topic, tell me now, why were u crying?'

"I swear I wasn't' she said

"I swear you were' he said and smiled.

"You know you're growing up fast don't you?' she asked and he nodded.

"Come on now, tell me, you were crying over him again weren't you?' he asked

She thought for a moment then said "Yes, I was crying over him'

He sighed then said "you don't need to, it's just a matter of few years until I start earning then I can take u out on dates mommy'

"That would be twelve years maybe a little more' she said and pulled his cheeks and why would u choose your mother over your pretty girl?'

"Who needs a girl when I already have Kriya Ghai, the world famous composer' he smiled.

"My my, Rehan, you really are growing up fast' she said

"And you said chocolate complan was a waste of money!' he said and shrugged causing Kriya to giggle.

Before they could continue her phone buzzed it seemed to be an unknown ID Okay Rehan "I need to take that, so u go and sleep now'

"Oh so is it your boyfriend?' he asked she giggled. Stop saying that I don't have a boyfriend Rehan'

"Okay, you're gonna talk for 15 minutes until I cease your cell phone' he said

"Fine I'll cease your video game then' she said and he replied: Okay, I make it twenty'

"Shut up Rehan, go and sleep, I'll join you in a minute' she yelled until she realised the phone was on.

"Oh I'm sorry' she said

"I know rehan he's quite notorious' Neha said I kind of have your fan in here'

"Wow, make him talk to me, I'm already feeling lucky today' she said .

"It's kind of personal so, I think I'll leave you two alone' Neha said and left.

"No! Neha! Wait!' she said but was too late.

"Hello? Hi! How're you? u know Neha she's quite stupid at times' she said with a giggle.

Silence.

"Hello? You can speak, I don't eat people up' she said

Kriya' she heard from a very familiar voice. Kriya' the voice repeated, she wanted to wipe the tears the tears but her hands declined, her senses stopped and mind froze.

"Am I disturbing u?' he asked

"Rey!' she said Oh, it's you, it's been sometime, how're u?'

"I just wanted to talk' he said

"I'm listening' she replied.

"How is Rehan?' he asked

"Growing up fast' she said

"And how're you?' he asked

"I'm..I'm good, what about you?' she asked

"I'm okay. It's quite late, you didn't sleep yet?' he asked

"No I was just finishing a chorus' she said

"How is Rehans schools going?' he asked

"It's all good, he made friends, he's a lovely child' she said along with a giggle.

"Can I .. Can I please talk to him once? If you don't mind?' he asked

"I don't mind, but I'm not sure whether he wants to talk to u' she said.

"Well..' before he could speak she said

"I'll try' as she called out Rehan he stepped in.

"Its dad, he wants to talk to u' she said

"he's still up?' rey asked

"He's always up, he barely sleeps'

REHAN " REY CONVO-

"Hello Rehan' Rey said .

"Yo!' he shrieked . Show decency' Kriya scolded.

"Ah, so your mom was right, you really are growing up fast' he said how're you?'

"Do you watch Transformers?' the child asked.

"Can't you ask some normal questions like what is your favourite colour?' Kriya scolded again.

"Yes I do' Rey laughed.

"My favourite is Optimus and bulkhead, who's yours?' the child asked excitedly.

"Mine is Rachet and at times Megatron' Rey said

"Megatron's evil and so r u' the child said

"What makes u think that?' rey asked

"U make my mommy cry' Rehan said

"Does mommy cry for me?' rey asked.

"Yeah' he said

"Do u think mommy loves me?' rey asked

"U really need Complan for urself, when she cries for u its obvious that she loves u' Rehan said

"And do u think my visiting will make it any better for mommy?' Rey asked

"U should better ask mommy that' Rehan handed over the phone.

"Kriya. Hey, I'm In Dubai' Rey said.

"What! I mean thats great, u should visit us sometime' she said

"Well, I think maybe tomorrow. I'll see u then bye' he said

"Take care' She ended the call..

Maybe her wish was coming true.
