Situation: In a lift, few months after breakup, more Romance

Okay. So usually I don't say much before posting an OS but today I will. This is serious guys. Okay. I suck at writing ahem stuff and everyone knows that. Please bear with the song sequence. Although it doesn't have anything that much, warna main khud likhte likhte faint ho jati, but yeah, coz the situation was more romance, I had to write something. so just beware and please mujhe maaf kar dena agar kuch galat ho gaya ho toh. Prasanna dii, kaan pakar ke sorry if you don't like it.😒 and please don't bash me for this note kyuki mai apne aap ko underestimate nahi kar rahi balki ek fact bata rahi hu. so.. Here you go!

It had been almost eight months now since Taani and Rey had broken up. Taani had changed her college. She was pursuing literature and she had to change her college. She never looked back. She didn't want to. As she knew that it would give her just one thing, pain. She was happy with her bhai and her gang of friends in her college. But deep down, she knew that something was missing. She didn't want to remind herself what that something was. And as for Rey, he was shattered. He had never imagined that, his one step, would push Taani so much far away from him. They would hardly meet two or three times in a month, when Rey used to come to Swayam's place. Rey used to come to their place every other day, sometimes to see Taani, and well yeah, too see Taani. But Taani would either be at college, or be out with her friends. He had even decided to try to talk to Taani about the entire break up fiasco, but he never really got a chance.

She was finally shopping today, after a long time. Swayam had pushed her out of the house with his credit card and asked her to shop things for herself. Her friends had refused to go with her as they were busy with some work so she went alone to the mall.

Sharon had asked Rey to meet D3 team's client at the mall. He was already there. The client would be waiting at the food court for him. He stood in front of the lift, waiting for it to come down. They lift came and he got in. He was in no mood to meet the client right now but Sharon forced him. The lift stopped at the third floor and the door of the lift opened.

He felt his world stop. His heart skipped a beat. He couldn't take his eyes of her. Unknowingly, a smile crept up his face. She was entering the lift with some shopping bags, adjusting her hair. She looked angelic in the white dress she wore.

She kept the shopping bags in the lift and tied up her hair in a loose bun. She looked up, only to see him in front of her. Her heart skipped a beat too. It had been ages, not ages exactly, but it definitely felt like ages since she had seen him. The lift's door closed. It was only him and her there.

They definitely had to start a conversation. It would be awkward otherwise. Taani played with her hands, getting nervous, thinking on how to start a conversation. Rey smiled, seeing that he still had atleast some effect on her.

"Hi" Rey said, making it easy for her.

Taani looked up, smiled and said, "Hi"

"Tum yahan?"

"Haan.. shopping!" Rey smiled.

"Aap?" She asked him, making herself somewhat comfortable.

"D3 team ke client se milne.."

"Okay.."

She could feel his intense gaze on her. "Why Rey? Why even after eight months you are effecting me to this extent?" She thought. She closed her eyes, to avoid him.

"How are you Taani?" He asked her. She opened her eyes and looked at him.

"I'm good.." She said, nodding. "Aap?"

"Me too.."

"Aur baaki sab kaise hai?"

"They are good too. They miss you." Rey said.

"And you?" Taani asked in a trance.

"Me too" They got pulled in an eye lock.

The lift stopped at a floor and a man got in. It was only then that they got pulled out of the eye lock. Taani looked away. It was silent, except for the lady's voice announcing on which floor the lift had reached. Taani could still feel his gaze on her. She felt elephants dancing in her stomach.

The man got out on the fifth floor. It was only two of them left again. Deep down they knew that both of them didn't want to leave now. Unknowingly they kept praying to get some time with each other. He wanted to talk to her, tell her everything.

Suddenly, they felt a jerk and the lift stopped. They looked around. The lift had stopped in between. The buttons of the lift had stopped working. It was as if their prayers, about whom they were themselves unaware of, were answered.

"Lagta hai left band ho gayi hai.." Rey said. Taani became tensed.

"Ab?"

"Ruko.. Main kisi ko phone karta hun"

Rey took out his phone, only to discover that there was no network in it.

"Taani tumhare phone me network hai? There's no network in mine."

Taaai took out her phone and the tension grew stronger on her face.

"Nope!" She said.

"I guess we'll have to wait until the mall people do something.." Rey said.

"Pch!" Taani exclaimed and sat down in the lift. Rey too sat down.

Taani had to start the conversation this time. She wanted to prove it to herself as well as him that he didn't affect her. As for him, he knew he only had to start the conversation.

"Woh.." They said in unison and looked at each other.

"Tum/Aap pehle" They again said together. They couldn't help but smile. It was their old habbit, saying things together.

"Aap boliye.." Taani said.

"Woh tumhare face pe kuch black laga hai."

Taani brought her hand to her face. She rubbed her skin a little and asked, "Ab theek hai?"

Rey shook his head and pointed towards the part on her face. She rubbed that part again and asked, "Ab?"

Rey shook his head again and stoop up. He came forward and sat in front of Taani. He lifted his hands up to her face. Taani's heart beat started increasing. She didn't know why but she closed her eyes.

Rey slowly rubbed the black mark off her face. She felt electric waves run through her body. She felt complete. She knew very well what had been missing from her life. It was him. She slowly opened her eyes, only to get drowned into the most beautiful eyes she had ever seen. It was Rey's. Her Rey's. "He is not yours Taani." She thought.

Rey showed her the black mark which was on his fingers now. "Eye Liner." Taani said. " I guess it got smudged."

Rey smiled and sat beside Taani, but still at a distance. He looked around and spotted a red button above the screen which showed the floor number. He had seen something like this in the movies.

"Waise Taani.. maine movies mein dekha hai.." He started.

"Kya?"

"Who red button dekh rahi ho upar?" Rey said, pointing towards the tiny red thing.

"Haan?"

"Maine dekha hai ki use press karne se lift theek ho jata hai.."

"Ugh.. Kuch bhi Rey! Aisa sirf movies mein hota hai, Reality mein nahi!"

"Arre par ho sakta hai na sach hota ho!"

"Movies mein dikhaya hua kuch bhi sach mein nahi hota!"

"Aise kaise? Pyaar toh sach hota hai!" Rey blurted out before he realized what he said. Taani looked at him and they got pulled into an eye lock. Love. It somehow had stopped existing for Taani. She knew that she loved him, but she also knew that he didn't love her. And no one knew better than her, how it felt when you loved someone with all your heart and they never love you back.

"Uh.. I mean, ek baar try karne mein kya jata hai!" Rey said, breaking the eye lock.

"Par woh switch itna upar hai, na aapka haath jaayega aur na mera!" Taani said.

"Woh toh hai. But ek kaam karte hai, I'll lift you up and tum button daba dena, whatsay?"

"Rey yeh bohot zyada stupid plan hai!"

"That's the only way we can get out of here!" Rey very well knew that the plan wouldn't work. He very well knew that whatever they were going to do would be of no use. But he himself was unaware of the reason why he was telling her to do that.

"Okkkay!" Taani agreed.

Rey lifter her up, with both his hands around her waist. Taani's heart beats were increasing continuously. She could feel his breath near her stomach. Her heart skipped a beat. It was a long time after they came close, but it still had the same effect on her.

She controlled herself and pressed the red button. The lift suddenly jerked and Rey lost his balance. He left Taani, and both of them, losing their balance; fell down, with Rey on top of Taani.

Something like this would definitely had to happen when they were together. "My bad luck won't spare me." Taani thought. Her breathing increased, seeing Rey so close to her. She controlled herself and signaled Rey to get up. They got up and Taani was going to take her place again beside her shopping bags when Rey caught her arm.

Her heart skipped a beat again, at his touch. Rey couldn't control himself now. Eight months, Eight freaking months and he had been away from her. His love. He couldn't take this anymore. Today, he just had to tell the truth to her. He wanted to be with her, love her, talk to her.

Rey pulled her towards himself, so that she came crashing on his chest. She kept her hands on his shoulder and he on her waist. They were close. Taani looked him straight in the eye. She could only see love for her in those chocolaty brown balls of his.

He hugged her, pouring out all his love. She didn't stop him. She loved him. Still. To his surprise, she hugged him back, feeling his warmth; she buried her head in his neck. He too did the same.

He slowly placed a peck on her neck. She shivered. She dug her nails in his shoulder. He took this gesture as an acceptance and kissed her neck. Taani felt as if the entire volume of her blood had rushed to her face. She pushed and away and turned her back to him.

He kept looking at her. Thousand of questions running in his mind.

He went and hugged her from behind. He slowly turned her towards himself and cupped her face with his hands.

He looked at her lips and leaned towards them. "This isn't right." Taani thought. She couldn't let him do this to her again, and when they weren't in a relationship any more, she didn't want to give herself to him.

She jerked Rey away from herself. "What the hell Rey?! How dare you touch me?"

Rey was astonished. He didn't have any words.

"I love you.." Was the only thing he could say.

Her blood was boiling now. How can he lie to this extent, just to use her?

"Huh? You love me?! How come suddenly AGAIN?! Do you think this is a game?! Do you think love is a joke?! Or actually, Do you even know what love means?" Taani snapped.

"I Love You.." He said again.

"Stop it Rey! I know you don't! You've never loved me! Never! It was just a game for you! It was just a joke for you! Thode der maine aap se achche se baat kya kar li, aapne socha that I still love you?! I don't alright?! Everything was over the day we.." Taani couldn't complete when Rey placed his lips on hers, pulling her into an urgent, aggressive kiss. He didn't want it. He needed it. Unknowingly, Taani kissed him back.

Just then, a woman's voice said, "Thank you for your cooperation. The lift will start in five minutes." The woman's voice announced through the sound box in the lift.

It was then that Taani realized what had happened. He jerked him again and slapped him.

"How dare you?" She said.

Rey pinned her to the wall. "Listen to me Taani.. I Love you.."

"Just stop it Rey! Stop hurting me and saying all that! I know you don't!"

"You don't know anything.." He gripped her arm tightly. "You need to know!"

"What do I need to know?" tears rolled down her cheeks.

"That I did all that for you.. For your betterment! I faked break up with you so that you could realize your individuality! I couldn't let you spoil your life because of me! I wanted you to realize the importance of career in one's life!" Rey said.

Taani was numb. She couldn't believe her ears. He did that for her. For her betterment. Fresh tears formed in her eyes. But he could have talked to her. She would've understood. "Didn't you trust me Rey? Or were you ashamed of me?" She thought. Tears keep rolling down her cheeks.

The lift finally reached on some floor and the door opened. They looked at the direction. Thankfully there was no one there at that time. She freed herself from his grip, collected her things, and wiping away her tears, walked away from there.

He let her go. He knew that she needed some time alone. Now, he could only wish that she would forgive him and they would get back together.
