NB, apologies for being the lazy bum that i am...long pending comments on the last few chapters of one of my favourite stories in IF...here they come...

Chapter 7B
How the tables had turned indeed! Khushi lashing out at Arnav if he thought he could settle her dues and win her acceptance! And Arnav trying to be the reasonable one justifying how he saw that as "their" dues...

I cant blame Khushi...I cant blame Arnav either...not anymore...He is clearly doing his best and Khushi reminding him of his past mistakes really doesnt help...I wonder how they will ever overcome their past!!!

If you ask me, who is the one author on IF who comes to my mind when asked "whose story is written as close to the real world as possible?" I would say NB...especially Parinay...This update is one of those that further strengthened my opinion...with this one line: "Arnav's measured reply irritated her further, that she was not able to get a response out of him, hurt him, that her words had no effect on him angered her further." NB, seriously I read this line atleast 5 times...and was smiling all the time :) Because it reminds me of AD :)

And his earnest request to give him another chance!! Who could have denied that let alone Khushi!!!

Chapter 8A

"He was a man who had shared many a kisses in the past, but the innocent gesture from Kushi had filled him with a warmth and glow and for the first time he had realised that a kiss could be more than just a gesture of physical intimacy." This line leaves me wondering if he never kissed La for anything except gestures of physical intimacy...how much did he love her?

And while I was wondering, Khushi decided to ask him something on similar lines...but more to do with his present..."Do you still love Lavanya?" and Arnav's reply actually sets me wondering more...if he ever loved La the way he thought he loved...i am sure he would have never discovered that he could "unlove" La if Khushi hadn't happened...

That warm and affectionate conversation they had in Agra, Khushi opening up about her childhood, them bonding over a similar loss...loved it...ok i thought they were going to do this nice and cozy but totally platonic thing for too long...but hey then the kiss happened...but without taking it any further,,,"kaun hai nanda-ki-sore" happened :(

And just like me Khushi was slowly starting to feel that Arnav is with her only because he wants to do the right thing! and just when the insecurity was springing up La comes into picture again!

Thoroughly loved this update NB...unless you had clearly planned your entire story out, this was not possible...the timing couldnt have been more perfect for every single thing that happened!!!

Chapter 8B & 8C

Didnt I tell you that you write as realistically as possible? Especially Parinay...So there you go, another line that I read so many times and wondered how similar this Khushi is to many women in AD...'How is she holding up?' The question wasn't entirely asked with sincere intentions...and Khushi blew my mind with her utterly honest confession..."I don't know Arnav, its maybe because you conveniently forgot to tell me about the funeral or for that matter whose funeral it was. Or may be because you heart still hurts seeing Lavanya like this." I totally love your portrayal of Khushi here...not some miss goody two shoes who would have gone..."Oh Arnav I feel sorry for her...I feel sorry about Sid...I am glad you went there..."

Actually I was finding it hard to believe that Arnav would fall in love with Khushi eventually given his past...but who wouldnt love this woman...omg..."All you talk about is your guilt, remorse, your obligation. You make me sound like I'm some social project Arnav"...hahaha i just love your Khushi...

And Arnav's guilt at Nani's death before he could tell her that he doesnt hold any grudge against her...that she is forgiven...that she indeed was a better grandmother than a mother just as she had been proud of in the past...

Chapter 9A

Ok, before I started reading this I knew what was going to happen...rabba vey was ringing loud right throughout...but what i didnt expect was Arnav's breakdown...and opening his heart out to Khushi...and how effortlessly she made him feel he was a better person than he gave himself credit for...

now i seriously want to know something...something that has always always remained a doubt...does physical intimacy with a new partner bring forth memories of ex? ok now i am going to stop it at that before i sound like a silly fool :)

Chapter 9B

"There were no half halfhearted measures where Kushi was concerned. It was either all or nothing." Wouldnt someone like that expect the same in return?

haha...that dig on Indian TV soaps...once consummation done...no more sleeping together...lol...

I really liked that scene with Anjali...and Arnav's confession about his feelings for Khushi..."If that's not love what is Chote?"...
ok to me love is "not just wanting to spend the rest of your life with someone and make him/her happy...love is when you are not able to imagine spending the rest of your life without that someone...when your life would hold no meaning whatsoever if he/she is unhappy"...holy moly...whats wrong with me? why am i talking like this now? Its all Parinay effect I say!

Again Khushi impresses me by refusing to wear those kangans only because she is his wife...she is right when she says that they belong to the woman he loves!

ok the much awaited re-entry of la...'He was finding it difficult to understand why Kushi continued to behave so unreasonably whenever Lavanya came up for discussion.' you wont arnav...because you are not a woman...neither are you in her shoes...you married her but left her the next day to go and declare your undying love to La...and now you keep telling her that you dont yet love Khushi...though you dont love La anymore...do you even realise what this might do to Khushi...she is right when she says she feels like a social project...ok...its midnight here for me...so my emotions are bit high...pardon me NBji...

Chapter 10A
NBji, so you are bitten by the same "closing the loop" bug? Arnav realises his love for Khushi in the same place where he declared that he will always "only" love Lavanya...I feel bad for La...and hope that one day she wont love him...anymore...

"While his previous relationships had given him a rush, an adrenaline that produced an excitement, his relationship with kushi had given him stability, a calm and peace."...again another realistic take on a real life relationship...while fiction focuses on love stories where the couple experience this heady feeling in each other's company, i strongly believe that real life relationships usually succeed if they offer stability and peace...

And then he said it...finally I. Love. You. Khushi!

Chapter 10B

Ok , the last chapter was only to make us all feel that your Arnav is as best as they come...he cooks and cleans for her...masters the art of cooking yummilicious dum briyani...and says I love you as many times as possible! Pleeej!!!

hello
ive recently discovered ur stories and each one of them leaves me more enthralled than the other
i know from personal experience how difficult it is for a marriage to work and it takes honest work from both ends else it falls apart, like mine did.
what i love about ur work is that it has a calming effect and i love the way u portray ur arnav. he is always there, even though flawed. i wish the man in my life had the same qualities. khushi is not always flawless either. both of them are flawed. its how they decide to stay together is important

Loved the story.

Though there are a few stories that begin with similar situation where bothe ARnav & Khushi are forced into a marraige, it takes interesting turns later.

Firstly, this Khushi is not that forgiving, of course after she comes back to Delhi she does that, but still takes her time to make ammends and does not do that overnight.
It's quite different in the sense that Arnav cooks & Khushi doesn't, Arnav is making more attempts to reconcile even if he is short tempered, Khushi taking the initiative while making love and so on. Also, this is the first time I ever read in a story about Arnav moving out of AR and starting everything from scratch, that's a nice touch.

I have one doubt - after he leaves RM & AR and everybody behind, does he let go of Raizada surname? - as that's what Nani had asked him to do if he didn't agree to marry Khushi, and he left almost everything, but I don't think you mentioned anything about the surname..

Okay so my hunt with new and interesting Arhi FFs ended here --- I was reading your work for the first time, so I was going with an open mind, did not know what to expect.
A few things about your writing --- very sensitive, realistic at some times, emotionally driven but practically viable, definitely worth reading!

Now your characters --- I love how you showed Arnav as a real human being, and not some angry young man going around doing despicable things and still not getting punished for what he did. No your Arnav is real, very much like a sincere man with flaws he cannot help but still decides to change himself, asks in fact begs for a second chance.
Khushi is shown a strong independent woman, who wont even take one incident of manhandling in a good way, I will clap for you just for showing that, because I always thought that strong willpower missing the show's Khushi. She is not just today's woman with her own power and courage, she is also sensitive, expects to be loved in return, and wants to cherish the loving words spoken to her, in a way she is like all women, with dreams and aspirations, but does have her own character, a very strong, determined one.
I also loved how you showed them going out, slowly settling themselves for each other, knowing what they had been through I wasn't expecting an easy second chance, so I really like how every scene of them after that made sense.

All your supporting characters also did have their own flaws and strengths, and you did a good job at balancing all of it.

This story had drama, emotions, sensitivity, redemption done right, and a lot more![Although I love stories where A and K have a crackling chemistry right from start, or an explosive meeting where they are aware of each other right from the beginning, but I think this approach is more realistic, esp when you were showing Arnav already in love with someone else. I liked the uniqueness of it.]

I am glad you started writing NB, and I am happy you are not stopping anytime soon. I was contemplating which of your stories do I start reading first - chose this because it was shorter(I hardly have time these days) and its completed, meaning no anxiety of waiting for next update lol.

It was a really good experience to read the story, and looking forward to reading more of your writing.

I read the whole story in one go...it was beautifully written...was up till 2 am to finish it before i slept..

I think i dreamed of a & k and parinay all night...hahaha...
I loved ur characters and the way you set the pace...the insecurities, the time to realise that one is in love, the practical difficulties in life...it was all so real...

Thank u for writing a brilliant ff which has enthralled readers from start to end...!
