Stuck up with some family issues
But still managed to write a small filler part and bigger part coming later.
And this is for the first time I have attempted to write something romantic which is more filmy sort of. Not sure how it has turned out to be 😳
So without wasting any more time... here it comes

All those moments flashed in front of his eyes and he closed them. A lone tear escaped the corner of his eyes
He somehow tried to shrug off those thoughts, got ready and went to ETF office.

Around 10:30 AM
Arjun reached the offices premises and surprised to see Sameer's car in the parking lot. For last few weeks, Sameer was not coming to office on Saturdays as he was busy in his wedding preparation. He used to come only if there was a case. And today he didn't get any call about any case, so he was confused. Hew saw Shree and Chhotu's bikes too.
He remembered that the team planned a surprise for Sameer's birthday and he thought that the team is planning something for his birthday too. But he was not in mood for any celebrations. So for once he thought of going back to the lodge but decided against it and went inside. He made up his mind to shut himself from others not giving them a chance to talk to him or convince him for celebrating his birthday.
He reached near the pantry area and stopped when he heard Shree, Chhotu, Riya and Navika's voices. He stood behind a pillar to overhear what they were talking.
Navika: Shree... kya humein sachmuch aisa karna chahiye?
Shree: Navika... tum abhi nayi aayi ho... tum janti nahi ho Arjun sir ko... unhe ye bilkul achchha nahi lagega...
Navika: par aaj to unka birthday hai na... to kya hum unhe wish bhi nahi karenge?
Chhotu: Nahi Navika...Unka past bahut dard bhara hai... Rathod sir ki baat alag thi.. par Arjun sir ... nako re baba!! ... nahi to fir se "Samjhe ya Samjhaun" sun-na padega... ab unke birthday par hum unko koi khushi nahi de sakte to kam se kam unhe gussa to nahi dilana chahiye na
Riya: Chhotu sahi bol raha hai Navika... itne dino se observe kiya hai hum sabne unhe... aur maine to kuch zyada hi...(Riya is a bit lost) (Shree, Chhotu and Navika chuckle) (Arjun gets a little uncomfortable)
Riya (snapping out, trying to be normal): Mera matlab hai ki Basket ball practice ki wajah se maine unke saath zyada time spend kiya hai na ..tab maine unko notice kiya hai... wo bahut focussed hain... jab tak wo apni patni k murder ka badla nahi le lete... tab tak wo normal nahi ho payenge... payenge aur tab tak wo khush bhi nahi ho payenge... to aaj ke din unhe wish karne ka ya surprise dene ka idea bilkul achchha nahi hai... hum unhe akela chhod dein to hi theek hoga...
Navika nods her head.
Though Arjun actually wanted what they were doing, still somewhere Riya's words "hum unhe akela chhod dein to hi theek hoga..." registered in his mind... and somewhere hurt him too. He stood there hearing further.
Navika: Achchha ... wo jaane do... Riya, tum batao... shadi ki shopping kaha tak pahunchi?
Chhotu: aur menu mein kya kya hai?
Shree: Kya Chhote... tujhe khaane k siva kuch aur soojhta nahi na...
Chhotu glares at Shree and Riya and Navika giggle.
Navika: par ek baat to hai... Annu di aur Rathore sir ki jodi ekdum perfect hai... bilkul made for each other ... And Riya... u r so lucky ... Rathore sir tere jiju...
Riya smiles and blinks her eyes.
Riya: haan ... maine to sapne mein bhi nahi socha tha... but i'm soo happy ...
Shree: aur hum sab bhi ...
And they get together for a group hug.
Arjun moves in front of them at this moment and looked at Riya first and then others.
They part from each other and wished him Good Morning and he just nodded in return.
Arjun: tum log aaj office mein kya kar rahe ho?
Riya: wo aaj Rathod sir ne call kiya tha... Annu Di ko... wo unhe humara office dikhana chahtey they... aaj koi case bhi nahi tha aur shopping ke liye bhi shaam ko jaana hai... aur subah ka time thoda free tha isliye... (Riya stops)
Arjun: Rathod Annu ko office dikhane laaya hai to... tum sab poori baraat ban kar kyun aaye ho?
All are embarrassed.
Chhotu: wo sir kya hai na... Annu di se miley huye bhi bahut time ho gaya tha... to socha ki agar wo aaj office aa rahi hai to... hum bhi unse milne yahi aa jatey hain... isliye Riya ka call aatey him hum yaha aa gaye...
Arjun: to miley?
Chhotu: kis se?
Arjun(without any expressions): Annu se?
Shree (Sheepishly): Haan mil liye ... ab bas hum ja hi rahey they
Arjun is not completely satisfied with their replies but decides not to stretch it further. The team leave the office. Riya's words were still ringing in his mind and he was trying to shrug them off.
On the way, he just peeps into Rathod's cabin. What he saw was amusing. Annu was looking out of the window and Sameer went and stood behind her very close and the very same moment Annu turned and crashed into Sameer and he held her gently by her waist and she steadied herself holding his shoulders. Their eyes locked for a few seconds and Annu lowered her eyes blushing and tried to get away but Sameer was in no mood to let her move away from him. He smiled and tighened his hold on her waist pulling her closer again. Annu hugged him and buried her face in his chest.
Arjun chuckled looking at this from the partially transparent glass door of Rathod and moved away to his cabin.
In Sameer's cabin
While Sameer - Annu were still hugging each other, they are disturbed by Sameer's cell's beep. Sameer frowns and takes out his phone looks at the message and breathes a sigh of relief. No new case.
He sees the regular chai wala going towards Arjun's cabin.
Annu: ye chai?
Sameer: haan... Arjun ko ye coffee machine ki coffee pasand nahi hai ... usey ye cutting chai hi pasand hai...
Annu: Matlab Arjun office aa gaye hain?
Sameer: haan...
Annu: mai unse milke aati hoon...
Sameer(shrugs): Theek hai... Jao
Annu turns to go but since Sameer was still holding her hand tightly she bounces back to Sameer again crashing into him. Sameer chuckles and Annu rolls her eyes.
Annu: Sameer !!!!
Sameer: sorry Jaanu... kya karoon... ye haath chhodne ka dil hi nahi karta... (winks)
Annu smiles at his antics. Sameer reluctantly leaves her hand.
Annu goes to Arjun's cabin and knocks.
Arjun having his cutting chai standing near window.
Arjun(without turning back to see who knocked): Come in
Annu: Hi Arjun ji !!
Arjun snaps out hearing Annu's voice. He turns and finds Annu smiling at him.
Arjun(smiles back): Hi !!
Annu: I hope mai aapko disturb nahi kar rahi hoon...aap busy hain?
Moves towards his chair.
Arjun(gives a faint smile): nahi... bilkul nahi...bas kuch purani files dekh raha tha... aap baithiye na... (signals Annu to sit)
She sits on a chair opposite to him and he to sits on his chair.
Annu: wo Sameer ne kaha ki wo mujhe aaj apna office dikhana chahtey hain... to mai aaj yaha aayi...
Arjun: haan... wo mujhe neeche team se pata chala... to ...kaisa laga humara office?
Annu: Achchha hai... well equipped... aajkal k mujrim jitna aagey badh gaye hai... unse ladne ke liye it bada set up to chahiye hi...
Arjun:Haan wo to hai... aap kuch lengi ... chai ya coffee?
Annu: Nahi... thanks ... wo abhi hum Sameer ke cabin mein coffee hi pee rahey they ... ki aapka chai wala dikha... usey dekh kar Sameer ne guess kiya ki aap aa gaye honge... isliye mai apse milne aa gayi
Arjun chuckles remembering what he saw in the cabin.
Annu: aapne kuch kaha?
Arjun: nahi... kuch nahi... to ab kya plan hai aapka...
Sameer enters.
Sameer: mai aur Annu lunch ke liye baahar ja rahe hain... uske baad jewellery shop jaana hai... uske baad hum saath mein dinner karenge aur mai Annu ko wapas ghar drop kar dunga (he speaks without a pause)
Arjun is startled at this sudden reply.
Arjun(snaps out): great ... shadi ki taiyari kafi zor se chal rahi hai...
Sameer: haan ... wo to hai... Maa aur Papa kal Udaipur ja rahey hain... waha ki taiyariya karne...
Arjun: good...
Sameer's phone rings and he receives the call.
Sameer: Hello !! Jai Hind sir !!! ...(looks at Annu with a sad face) OK sir... Fine... i'll be there on time
Annu: kya hua?
Sameer: DIG Sir ka call tha... ek important meeting k liye jaana hai...12:00 Baje bulaya hai (Sad)
Annu: OK
Sameer: I'm sorry Annu ... humara plan cancel karna padega
Annu: Its OK Sameer... its ur duty (smiles)
Sameer: 11 baj gaye hain... mai chalta hoon ... Annu... tum Riya ke saath chali jaana...
Arjun: Par Riya to chali gayi...
Annu and Sameer (together): KYA?
Arjun:Haan... jab mai office aaya tha tab hi Riya baki team members ke saath chali gayi... unhe laga ki um dono saath mein time spend karne wale ho to tum logo ko disturb kyun kiya jaaye... isliye... (looks at both of them)
Sameer: Damnn Itt... Ab Annu ghar kaise jayegi?
Annu: Its OK Sameer... mai akeli ja sakti hoon... aap apna kaam kariye...
Sameer: Annu... please... baahar barish bhi ho rahi hai... tumhe auto ya taxi nahi mili to ... Rawte bhi abhi office mein hi baithne wala hai din bhar... nahi to mai usey hi bol deta tumhe drop karne ko...
Arjun(interrupts him): Aisa kuch nahi ...
Sameer and Annu give him a surprised look.
Sameer: matlab?
Arjun: tum jao meeting ke liye... Mai Bhabhi ko ghar drop kar dunga... itna zaruri kaam nahi hai mera...
Sameer: Rawte ... are u sure? i mean...mai unnecessary tumhe pareshan nahi karna chahta... khaas kar ke aaj ke din (Sameer gives extra stress on "aaj ke din")
Arjun understood what he meant. He was happy that Sameer didnt forget his birthday.
Arjun: I'm sure Rathod... mai Annu Bhabhi ko drop kar dunga...
Sameer: OK... (to Annu) is it fine with u Annu?
Annu nods in yes.
Sameer goes to his cabin.
Arjun: abhi chalein ya thodi der mein?
Annu: jaisa aap chahein...
Arjun: abhi chaltey hain...
Arjun too wanted to get out of office. He was uncomfortabe since the time he heard the team talking and Riya's words were disturbing him. And he too wanted a distraction so he agreed to drop Annu home.
On the way to Annu's home
Annu: Arjun ... ek baat kahoon?
Arjun: Kahiye na...
Annu: aap bura na maane to kya aaj aap mere saath lunch karenge?
Arjun is surprised.
Annu: agar aapko koi problem na ho to aur aapka koi aur plan na ho to... wo kya hai na... ab Riya bhi apne friends ke saath chali gayi aur Sameer bhi pata nahi kab ayenge...
Arjun: problem to nahi...par... (stops thinking something)
Annu: Itni buri cook nahi hai aapki Bhabhi ...
Arjun smiles.
Arjun:theek hai... par aapka plan to bahar lunch par jaane ka tha na?
Annu: haan... tha... par ab mood nahi hai...
Arjun: theek hai...
They reach home by 12:00 PM.
Annu goes to kitchen and starts preparing lunch.
Arjun helps her in kitchen and the get into regular chit chat. They bond well as friends. She tells him about her and Riya's chilhood stories and he tells her about some his and Sameer's fun moments.
They have lunch.
After lunch. Around 1:30 PM
Arjun is now comfortable with her. He asks her the details about her first meet with Sameer and she narrates him the airport incident.
Annu: Arjun... aap Roshni se ek case ke dauran mile they na?
Arjun is startled at this question and is quiet for a few seconds.
Annu: I'm sorry... shayad mujhe ye nahi poochhna chahiye tha...
Arjun(takes a deep breath): nahi ... aisi koi baat nahi... haan... ek case k dauran mile they... and wo mulakat ek pyare se rishtey mein badal gayi ... (smiles thinking about Roshni) (excited remembring that day)... aur pata hai... us din mera birthday tha ... raat ko 12 baje Sam ne birthday bump de de kar meri haalat kharab kar rakhi thi...aur ye case... (he narrates her the incident)
Annu observes how happy he was talking about Roshni. There was a twinkle in his eyes when he mentioned about Roshni. Annu smiles with him.
Annu: kitni khoobsurat yaad hai na... mere birthday ki tarah nahi... (smile disappears from her face)
Arjun feels bad for her.
Arjun: I'm sorry... mai apko hurt nahi karna chahta tha...
Annu(snaps out): arrey nahi... aisi koi baat nahi... wo jaane dijiye... aap bataiye... aap Roshni ko apne birthday par treat dete hain ya nahi?... wo to aapki first meet anniversary bhi hoti hai!!
Arjun is surprised.
Annu: haan... to kya hua wo is duniya mein nahi hai... aapke dil mein... har dhadkan mein har saans mein wo hai... aur wo mai bhi mehsoos kar sakti hoon... to bataiye... aap Roshni ke liye kya kartey hain apne birthday par?
Arjun: kuch nahi .. bas usey yaad karta hoon
Annu: wo to aap roz kartey hain... aapki is meeting anniversary par aap kya kartey hain?
Arjun(confused): kuch nahi...
Annu: to karna chahiye na? ...
Arjun: Mai kuch samjha nahi...
Annu(emotionally): kuch aisa jo Roshni ko pasand tha... jo usey khushi deta ho...
Arjun is a little uncomfortable. He tries to change the topic.
Arjun: Der ho gayi hai... mujhe ab chalna chahiye...
Annu understands that his state of mind. She gives a faint smile and nods.
Arjun gets up to leave.
Annu(Calls him from behind): Arjun ji... Happy First meet anniversary...
Arjun is surprised and turns to look at her.
Annu: Aaj hi hai na? ... meri taraf se Roshni ko bhi wish kar dijiyega... mai janti hoon wo sirf aapki hi ki awaaz sun sakti hai...
Arjun doesnt know how to react. He turns and leaves and Annu watches him retreating.
Annu(Thinking): Mai janti hoon Arjun... Roshni bhi aapko muskurate huye dekhna chahti hai... mai kabhi Roshni se mili to nahi... par itna yakeen hai mujhe ki ...uski khushi aapki khushi mein hi hai... aur aapki khushi uski khushi mein... aapki aankhon mein uski yaadon ki chamak se saaf pata chalta hai ki aap dono ka rishta kitna gehra hai... aise mat rahiye Arjun ...
