"Plans Gone Wrong"

The day was hectic. Me, Shilpa and Armaan were trying our best to manage a crew of a hundred people and provide the best service for the judges. Rey wasn't part of anything because he was busy with the team and their dance. To be honest, none of us wanted to disturb them anyway because there was already a lot of pressure on them.

"Shilpa! That Mr. Mittal wants soda not bottled water...get someone to get it quick."

"Armaan, your assistant is coming in an hour...handle things till then please."

"Oh and Aman! Go and start the speakers at the back!"

I was yelling out orders back stage and pacing around with my papers. I had my microphone on, which connected me to others whenever I needed to contact them.

The auditions were on and St. Louis will be performing last giving them enough time to prepare and get ready. The only disadvantage they had was that they would have to do better than all the other contestants that went before them. But I knew they could do it.

"Taani...I am kind of having a problem with the camera...could you send the spare one and also I need an extra," Armaan yelled through the microphone.

"Got it...sending the spare with Mahesh"

It was afternoon and we were almost at the end of the audition process. My stomach was growling from not eating lunch and I felt uneasy due to dehydration and the heat.

But putting all that aside I entered the St. Louis green room to check on the team.

"Taani! Did you tell him?" Swayam asked.

"No...do you think I even have the time to? I haven't even seen his face since morning," I hiss back.

"Taani!" The gang yells and I smile at them.

"Okay guys you all are on in about twenty minutes so I want you all ready and cleaned up okay?"

They all nodded and I looked at Rey, he was smiling and giving out stuff that the boys were asking from him. He locked his eyes with me and I felt everything else stop. He had warmth and also understanding in his eyes...he blinked telling me that I managing things properly. I smiled back and thanked him for the reassurance.

"Taani!" I heard Armaan yell from the microphone and I got out of the eye lock. I made my way out of the green room and was about to go when a strong arm grabbed me.

I was pulled into a hug and I smiled knowing that it was Rey. I snuggled in closer to his chest and breathed in his woodsy cologne. He grabbed me tighter and soothed the back of my head. Then, he slowly pulled out of the hug and gave me a pleading look.

"Will you watch our performance?" He asked and I nodded.

"Of course I will! I will watch it and be right there near the stage curtains," I say.

"Thanks...I want that you to be there when we perform and the judges tell the results."

"Don't worry...I will be there..." I hug him quickly and wish him good luck.

"Make me proud Rey," I say while walking away.

Soon, the anchor announced the last team to come on stage.

"Please welcome, the awesomely talented dance team of St. Louis!!!!" The anchor announced and the crowd roared. I cheered as well letting out all my excitement. I saw Rey and the gang come on stage and take their positions. The song began and they all did hip-hop mixed with contemporary. As the song was ending I got a call in my microphone.

"Taani! There's a problem here! Please come right now!!!" Armaan yelled and I could sense the urgency in his voice.

I ran out of the stage to the place where Armaan was with the wires.

"Armaan you are the cameraman...what the hell are you doing here?" I ask him.

"Taani the board had a short circuit and these wires need to be taken out right now! The assistant came so he is handling the camera...don't worry about that." I look down and see the smoke that is being created from the overload that the circuit board has gone through. I quickly get to work.

"I can't believe this is happening!"

"It's actually normal, these kind of small circuit mishaps happen during weddings and stuff too but I wasn't expecting it today," he says.

"I will miss the last bits of the audition."

"Ugh don't tell me...I called Shilpa and Aman before but they didn't listen so I had to call you. All of them just wanted to watch St. Louis," I laughed at his frustrated tone.

"Well, we can just see it on recording I guess." Just then I heard the crowd explode in cheers and hoots.

Armaan stopped and smiled, "Guess they got in." I nodded.

It took us a couple of minutes more and we finally settled the place down.

"Thanks Taani! I know you wanted to be with the gang," he said.

"It's not a problem Armaan...this event is my responsibility and if anything had gone wrong it would have been my fault." I smile at him and he gives me a hug before telling me to go eat something. I laugh and say goodbye.

"You did it Rey!" I yell from the back and hug him tightly. I grin as I tightly surround my arms to him and rest my face on his well-built back. I was thinking of all the possible ways that I could start out the conversation and tell him about how much I like him.

But he pulls back and walks towards Shilpa.

I was left in shock and confusion. It was one of those moments where I knew he was angry but keeping it all in and I didn't know why he was angry either. And just like every other time, I was clueless.

Now what had happened?

He walks out of the green room and into the vacant corridor at the end of the college.

"Rey! Rey!" I yell while running behind him. He doesn't listen and carries forward so I sprint to catch up.

"What's your problem?!" I ask while I grab his shoulder. I was mad at his behaviour. Why couldn't he just ever tell me what the problem is instead of throwing stupid tantrums and behaving immature? And to think of it, he always only did that to me! With Swayam or Sharon he would talk it out but when I come in the way...there went the flaring bull...

"What's my problem? What's your problem Taani!? If you didn't want to watch the performance then you could've just told me! There was no need to pretend and tell me you would watch it!"

"What are you going on about!? I did watch your performance! It's just at the end there was an emergency and Armaan called me!"

"Oh yeah...how can I forget that there was just so much of an emergency for you to go and hug Armaan," his tone dripped of venom and sarcasm.

"You're taking it all wrong Rey!"

"Yeah sure I am...leave me alone Taani," he says and walks away once again.

I feel tears coming out of my eyes and my heart feeling heavy.

"Taani?" I see Swayam say and I jump into his arms.

"He really doesn't believe me Swayam," I sob as I make his shirt wet.

"Don't worry Babes. I'll talk to that nut head," I hear Sharon and feel surprised.

"Trust me," she winks at me before explaining and walks away.

Lol...I know you all might want to kill me for ruining the moment. But, it can't be TaaRey without a bit of mellow drama now can it 😉😆

For a second I thought everything is normal with Taarey again
With Rey hugging Taani and all but as usual Rey anger and jealousy comes in the way lol
