"Nope. Not this! Ugh...why can't I find anything!"

My annoying elder sister complained as she tried to go through her closet and tried to find something to wear for the special occasion. So far she had gone through approximately 18 dresses, 10 skirts, 7 t-shirts and 16 pairs of shoes.

Did I mention they were all being thrown at or over my head? Though I still wonder how the hell she fit all that into the small closet of hers.

BAM!

A pair of black pumps just hit me in the face. My nose hurt and the pain caused my eyes to water; I so badly wanted to cuss out my bitch of a sister right now. Why god?! Why me?!

"Oh my god! I'm so so so so sorry Teetli!" She grabbed me, wiped my tears and started to examine my nose.

"Well, it's red and stuffy but not too bad. You'll be okay," she gave me a quick pat and then turned to her closet again.

"So is the red one good or the black one?" She grinned at me while holding up the two dresses.

Somebody slap her! Ugh!

"The black one." I had replied in a calm and collected tone knowing very well that she wouldn't have left me until she hadn't gotten an answer that seemed confident and right.

She marched off to the bathroom to change and I rushed to the mirror to check my nose. Oh my poor poor baby! It had become all red and I looked like a mixture of Rudolph (the red nose reindeer) and Raj Kapoor from Mera Naam Joker. Yup, that's exactly how I looked. I looked like a clown. But then again this wasn't something new I usually had things falling on me. To be honest it sometimes felt like I was God's dart board for all the bad things that could happen.

I sighed and went to the kitchen to grab myself some ice from the freezer.

I rubbed my nose and removed the ice cubes. As I put it up to my nose I realized it was...green... Why the hell were the ice cubes GREEN?

"TEETLI!" I dropped the ice cube on my pinky toe when I heard my OTHER older sister's voice. Damn it, now I have to pick this up.

"NO! Don't you dare even touch that!" She put out a hand in front of me and I gave her a what-the-hell look, "Oh, don't you know those are my green tea ice cubes and they will help make my skin become clean and fresh. It will make it glooowww!"

She's creepy. That's all I have to say to the emphasis on "glow" and her doing this bright light-bulb- thingy movements with her fingers' chammak challo's choreography was inspired by her for sure (hint hint'light bulbs)

Never mind the ice, I think I can survive. I sat on the most relaxing thing on the planet...my couch! I flipped through the television and put on the repeat of "The Vampire Diaries".

"They are hot, na?" I raised my eyebrows as the lady beside me edged forward to admire the two hot half-naked men present on the screen.

"MOM? You okay?"

"No. Please Teetli how can a girl be okay with such beautiful men around," she pointed to towards the screen and gave them a dreamy look, "you girls are so lucky. Back in my day we had scrawny boys in moustaches and rainbow bell bottoms."

Well then. I ignored my fifty something year old mother and engrossed myself in the happenings of the episode.

After an hour or so when the episode ended my eldest sister came in wearing the bandage black dress and pumps. She had a Gucci clutch in her hand and an elegant diamond bracelet in the other. She looked drop dead gorgeous even with just the eye-liner and lip-gloss she had put on. I always envied my sisters for their good looks and attractive personalities.

Remember, wish for anything but a sister because if she turns out to be better than you...well your life will be difficult. Actually'...you're screwed.

"Mom, wish me luck. Amar is the sweetest thing ever but I'm just so nervous! I hope I don't kill it."

My mom immediately grabbed her hands, looked her in the eyes and said, "Honey, you'll be fine. Promise! And next time try not to wear black or you will kill him." I let out a smile while my sister chuckled. She hugged us bye and went out the door.

That was my elder sister, Shakti. Confident, pretty and just perfect. She pampered me like a baby but also annoyed me the most. Without her though I always felt out of place, she was my mother in disguise. Surprisingly, she turned out to be a choreographer. Actually, dancing runs in the blood...well, for everybody except mom and me.

"HAI DAIYAA!! Sne what do you think you're wearing!" My mom jumped out of the couch and glared at my other older sister.

"Mommy, calm down. I am just wearing it to SLEEP."

"Take that thing off right now!" She pointed to Sne's skimpy short short....errm...how about her half-ass covering skirt.

"MOM! Calm down. I said I was wearing it to sleep! It's not like some guy will pop up at my window and have sex with me."

Sne, always blunt. She made her point and marched off to sleep. My mother was left stunned, it took her a minute or two to recover.

"Do you think I should lock her windows?" She asked me in the most innocent yet serious voice ever.

Please insert big big eye roll right here for my mom.

"No mom'.you know Sne would NEVER do anything like that.." I got up from the sofa to go to sleep.

"Well'...you never know'." my mother muttered while marching up the stairs behind me.

So. That is my family. Crazy, weird...normal. Oh! I just remembered in all this mess I didn't introduce myself or anyone else. Well, I am Tanusha Gujral. Also known as Taani or Teeli by my family and friends.

I have two elder sisters; Shakti and Sneha. Shakti is the eldest, we normally refer to her as "Kiki" in the house. She is the 25 year old successful freestyle choreographer. Prefers to travel and loves adventures! She has finally decided to start looking for a guy to settle down with; hopefully her date with Amar goes well.

Then comes my other sister Sneha Gujral a.k.a "Sne". The diva. From the outside she looks like the replica of Regina George from Mean Girls but from the inside she is nothing but a softy. From our parents' divorce she was the one most affected, hence the coconut-like personality of hers to cover up all the sorrows. She is a great dancer as well but she prefers to dance in theatre unlike Kiki and is 23 years old. She is soon to be married to her fiance Shaan Malhotra.

I am still surprised that she could find such a sweet loving guy.

Then, comes my mom, Vedika Gujral. She married my father, Indraneil Shergill, at a very young age. Sadly, their young love didn't prosper much and they divorced when I was 6, Sne was 9 and Kiki was 11. After that it was no looking back. My father didn't really give a damn and married again then moved to the U.K. My mother however struggled but always kept a happy face.

She faced life with confidence and really inspired all of us. Yes, she was crazy and acted like a teenager at times but she was the bestest mother anyone could ever have.

Last but not the least, me. Tanusha Gujral. The youngest child of the Gujral family. I think I turned out quite normal compared to the rest of my family. Kiki was too perfect, Sne was a brat, mom was a teenage and me'I'm normal? Well, quite boring.

Truth to be told I really never had an interesting life. My life has only contained two things; studying and family. My friends have never been constant due to the frequent transfers mom gets but that has just taught me to be detached from people and be happy with the company of myself.

Sigh....how I envy those with good friends and a big friend circle.

Anyway, enough of all that. Mom said that we might stay here in Mumbai until I graduate so hopefully I get to meet more people. Tomorrow will be my official day at St. Louis. Sadly it's a school known for its dance and while people die to get admission, here I am going there because it's the nearest thing to home and not because I give two damns about dance.

Ugh'...well 12 o'clock..no clue when Kiki's going to come but let's call it a night from my side.

So how was it? If anyone is confused then...well, I am a ArSha and TanHa fan so I thought of introducing them in a good light. No threat for TaaRey so no worries, and no I will not be including Kriya either (unless flashbacks) because I got Shakti here...so no tension to take there as well. So this is just Taani's family...there's still more in store for her when she goes to college and lot more to know about her as well. As you can see I have changed her character up because that's how I feel a girl in her 20's should be like. Hope you all liked it and enjoy it!
