Its hard to not get personal or pick sides when you read two people's opinions about marriage, I mean hide or seek, marriage is up there with birth, death or pregnancy. I like the way you put up both their sides. I get arnav's point..I expected him to say what he did. I even agree with everything he said, but I have a naive question..so what does it mean all the other couples were unhappy without marriage? from what little I have seen of akash and payal..they seemed content, you know. So why did they go the extra step? Because they are conditioned by the society? Also is another reason for arnav not fussing about marriage = he doesn't want kids..? has he said anything about that yet?
I enjoy that his belief is without incident. This issue is edging towards a pretty serious impasse! Is arnav a changed man or what, I mean gone is the aloofness that defined his relationship with La and here he is so fully into khushi. The trimmings are wonderful too..sense of responsibility towards society. Whats more he finally realises it might just be "love"..but fate clearly has other plans.
I feel for khushi, she really has to broaden her horizons so fast, while staying true to her own beliefs, which may not be as solid as ASR's because "we're young and naive still, we require certain skill". And this chapter really pushes that to the foreground..first dealing with gitu and her blatantly lying about it.
The party, work, gossip..I can understand her breakdown, and the need to want to be uphold an image the one ASR clearly gives 0 hoots about. Again the difference in dealing with things..Then the proposal, ah the walls do seem to be closing in on her! Then the physical intimacy..I love how you put up khushi's side on this one. This is exactly what it comes down to, just because she is "young and naive" does that mean she should fall in his opinions and beliefs instead? She did jump into this unprepared, or unaware of the full extent of it all.
Love the salman khan movie scene..exactly the change in mood the story needed at that point!!! And everything about the farm house was beautiful too..a reminder of the love, intensity and passion which brings them together.
There was a lot to get through, a lot more I would have said, but incoherence becomes me. So I will just wait to see what happens. I am sure these issues aren't going to end suddenly.
Marriage paas aane na de? Mohabat door jaane na de?
Wonderful update, must have been difficult to write and condense in 1 chapter..I mean these issues are what people write short stories about!
I love that you put everything on the table..and love how strong the characters are, even if they are finding their footing in the world.
