2 days later,
Police HQ,
Mumbai,
"Rathore ye chot?" DIG Dustin Coelho asked ACP Sameer Rathore.
"Kuch nahi Sir bas aise hi lag gayi..." Sam replied as he touched the dressing done on his forehead.
"I'm proud of you guys! Bina apni jaan ki parwah kiye, u did such a dangerous job! Really proud..." said Coelho, as smiles very pretty visible across Sam's and Aayesha's lips!
The duo greeted him and came out of his cabin.
Outside DIG's cabin,
"Sir woh..." Aayesha didn't complete.
"Mujhe koi baat nahi karni aayesha..." Sam replied.
{Aayesha knows what happened b/w them!}
"Sir lekin..." she said.
He turned to her side, and shot her a fuming glare,
"Ik baar samajh mein nahi aata ki mujhe koi baat nahi karni hai Ms.Aayesha Kapoor?" saying this he stormed away, as Aayesha looked at him going away.
Tujhse mohabbat huyi hai,
meri hai bas yeh khata,
Tujhse mein durr rahun yeh,
mujhko gavaara kahaan...
Few hours later,
ETF Office,
Aayesha walked into the conference room with a cutting chai in her hand. She placed it on the table, and turned to leave, when,
"Aayesha..."
Aayesha turned and found that it was Arjun who had called her.
"Yes Sir?"
"Sab theek hai?"
She was a bit confused by his question, but still she answered,
"Yes Sir, kyun kya huya?"
"Nahi woh kuch nahi...Rathore ko chot lagi hai aur tumhare haath par bhi chot lagi hai...so just like that..."
Even in an indirect way, Arjun Rawte was concerned for his lost friend Sameer Rathore and she could easily notice that!
"Actually sir woh hum logon ke piche Dutta ke kuch aadmi thay jab hum Iqbal se milne gaye thay...bus ussi waqt chotein lag gayi..."
"Why don't you take a leave for a day or two?"
She just said "it's ok sir..." and left the conference room.
She was passing by Rathore's cabin. She wanted to talk. She wanted to clarify. Finally, she entered his cabin.
Inside Sam's cabin,
Sam lifted his face, as he heard the door opening.
"Sir woh mujhe..."
"Aayesha I guess tumhein ik baari mein baat clear nahi hoti..."
"Sir lekin..."
Before she could continue, Sam got up from his chair and was marching towards the door to leave...when Aayesha grabbed his hand.
"Sir, aap bina baat kiye nahi jaa sakte..."
Sam turned and looked at her with fuming glances.
"Aayesha mera haath chodo..."
"Nahi nahi nahi...mujhe baat karni hai...aur aap meri baat bina sune nahi jaa sakte..." she replied.
He didn't have any other option. He turned and stood in front of her.
"Mein itne dino se aapse baat karne ki koshish kar rahi hunn...aur aap hain ki mujhe avoid karte jaa rahe hain...agar aap ik minute baat karlenge toh kya ho jayega?" she blasted.
He wasn't looking at her. Within seconds he had mellowed down. He was just looking down, here n there, but not her. He wasn't even glancing her.
"Aayesha kabhi kabhi kuch baaton ke baare mein baat na hi ki jaaye toh zyaada better rehta hai..." he replied, with his tone fully changed. That harshness, rudeness was missing.
"Par mujhe baat karni hai..." she replied back.
"Mujhe samajh nahi aa raha ki aakhir tum iss baare mein baat kyun karna chahti ho...jo hona tha woh ho chuka hai...everytime I see you I feel guilty Aayesha...tum kyun nahi samajhne ki koshish karti..." he said.
She at once left his hand.
"Kyun guilty feel karte hain aap? Akele aapki galti nahi thi...in fact aapki galti thi hi nahi...mein hi paagal thi...jo holi celebration pe jaane ki zidd karne lagi...na jaate toh shayad behtar rehta..." she replied.
He didn't knew what to say or what to not. Something just struck his mind,
"Aayesha behtar toh yahi hoga ki hum dono...ik doosre se durr rahein..." he said.
"Kyun?" she asked.
"Because I care for you...(correcting himself) Mere kehne ka matlab yeh hai ki mein nahi chahta ki jo kuch huya, woh dubara ho...in any case, mein nahi chahta ki mere wajah se tumhein koi nuksaan pahunche Aayesha..." he replied.
"Kyun karte hain aap meri care?" she asked.
"Because I love you Damn it!" he yelled.
She was shocked. For her, he was just a senior, or maybe just a friend. Nothing more that that. But he, on the other side, was in love with her.
Just seconds later, Sameer realized his mistake. Knowingly or unknowingly, he had blurted out the truth which was residing in his heart from last few days, or maybe from the time, he had first met her?
He picked up his phone...and stormed out of the cabin, and Aayesha just slumped on the sofa of his cabin, nearly sobbing.
Was she happy at his confession? Or she didn't like that? Only time would tell...
