When I was reading chapter 4, I was thinking.. hmmm.. how will this story begin? He did not marry Kushi under pressure, then hate her, mistreat her etc and the typical realization, falling in love and redemption after.. So that is clearly out of question. So now where does this leave the storyline..
Luckily for me, thanks to my delayed reading, I read Chapter 5 immediately. And wow, what a twist to the story. I could never in a million years have guessed this twist. Then I started recalling the earlier chapters and he did not see her walk, ever. Brilliant! I should tell you - I was mad with Kushi when she said to Arnav that bade papa was more of a dad to her than he ever was to Arnav. For some reason, I did not feel offended by Arnav's rude remarks. Perhaps we have a different standard for adopted, foster kids. I was thinking perhaps she should be more thankful to the family? She cant be mean to the family that took her in but at the same time I felt Arnav was justified in being mad with Kushi for taking his place in the family. What is my point? Nothing really.. was just writing how i felt about the conversation they had at the table.
Right before you unwrapped the surprise, I was impressed that Arnav did not let Kushi fall. He was mad with her. I was still awed by his high morals when you dropped the surprise.
Going forward, I hope the love does not happen because of the handicap and pity. That would be a key factor for me. I will be waiting to see how you make them fall in love. I hope, pray that it is not because he is suddenly feeling bad for her. That would be so old school.. I want to see a modern twist to this love story..
To summarize - awesome update as usual. Love how you bring out the emotions in the reader.
