CHAPTER EIGHTEEN
Arjun closed his eyes, as he had nothing to say to her, except to hope, she might read it in his eyes. That he loved her, more than anything, more than everything combined.
He than quickly got up and held her up too, in his arms. Riya widened her eyes in fear but then she realized, "sir- sir your wound- " she said.
"Its okay." He said and walked her to the bed.
Then she felt the bed underneath her, she again remembered the beast in him, but then she felt something tickling. He pulled the blanket on her and limped out not even having a back glance.

Arjun came back to his room. He sat on his bed and took his head in his palms, not able to imagine how horrible he might look to her to make her so much scared. Suddenly he felt a hand.
"She'll be okay." He heard Rathore say.
"Will she?" he asked back, knowing the damage is irreparable now.
"Time heals all wounds, Arjun." Mr. Rawte said and came to him.
Arjun hugged him and finally a tear escaped his eyes. Mr. Rawte held his shoulders and calmed him.
"You have to be strong, Arjun." he said.
"Arjun, you- " Rathore said and the doctor too came in. "you don't know the whole thing." Rathore said and Arjun looked.
"She, she gets nightmares, actually," Rathore couldn't say more so the doctor continued.
"The nightmares are the broken chords of her brain. They are actually memories that haunt her like nightmares." The doctors said and Arjun didn't understand what he was talking about.
Rathore read the confusion on his face and told him, "As I told you before, Riya, came to conscious before you, two days ago. She is constantly having these nightmares, she wakes up every night screaming your name. We have had pretty much tried everything to make her feel better, we have given her pills and medication but all she witnesses is him."
As Rathore said the last word, all Arjun could do was gasp in horror. He is haunting her in dreams too.
"What does she see?" Arjun asked but they were all mum. "I asked what does she see!"
"She didn't tell us. She just wakes up and tries to come to you, every night, hoping you would save her from her illusions. But as you were not awake -"
"You stopped her from coming to me?!" Arjun asked and Rathore was lip tied, "tell me, did you ever stop her from coming to me!" Arjun asked again.
"You were in such a bad condition, and we didn't wanted to - "
"Do you know what you are saying Rathore!!" Arjun stood up but then winced as his leg pained.
"The doctors stopped me, they said you should not be bothered while -"
"Bothered?!" Arjun asked not believing, "Riya is no botheration, Rathore, she is my life! She is me!" Arjun looked at the doctors, "you stopped her from reaching out to me when she needed me the most! She was scared! She was hurt! She looked out for me, and you guys! You guys abandoned her!" he accused the doctors but then Rathore came forward.
"She was not alone, I was there with her all along. I knew you would want this. Don't worry, I was there and now, you could be too." Rathore said and his words finally gave him some relief at least she was not all alone.
"But how can she dream of him when she has lost her memory?" Arjun asked and doctors looked at him, they have prepared an answer to that.
"Look, your highness, our brain has all the information stored inside it, just like a computer." The doctor continued. "Due to massive pressure on her emotionally, her brain has blocked those memories. Now when she is gaining conscious, she is not able to remember anything. But when she is asleep, when her brain rests, she had no power to stop the memories to return." The doctor looked everybody, they stared at him, "I know, I am sounding filmy. But this is the harsh truth."
"So – so you're saying, that- " Arjun even dreaded to speak of it, "that she will soon, soon remember all that happened?"
"No I am not saying that, but yeah, a sort of." The doctor said not sure himself.
"What exactly do you mean 'a sort of'!" he said fuming again.
"I mean, she is just having certain nightmares, she isn't seeing everything that happened, just some parts of it."
"And is that a good thing?!" Arjun asked as the doctor spoke of it so casually.
"No, not really." The doctor fumbled through words but Arjun gave him a glare and tried walking out.
"Where are you going, your highness?" the doctor asked.
"You abandoned her, not letting her come to me. I cannot! I am going correct your mistake!" Arjun said but the doctor stopped him.
"But you first need a new dressing for your leg." He said pointing at his leg that had again started bleeding due to all the walking he did. "You wont want her to see it, do you?" the doctor asked and Arjun knew, he was right, at least this time.
He silently limped towards the bed and sat on it. Rathore, Shree and Chotu went outside and a nurse came inside with bandages.

Riya twitched in her sleep as the same scene played in front of her like a broken record. She saw the same thing from the past two days. There was this guy holding her on the wall, with Arjun lying down on the floor, and was kissing her!
Suddenly Riya saw his face and woke up.
"ARJUUNN!!!" Riya screamed as she ran out of her room. Rathore and Shree looked at Riya running towards them, and soon she opened the door and went inside Arjun's room.
The doctor was done changing the dressing of his wounds and she ran to him and hugged him on the bed.
"Arjun!!" she said as she hugged him and he too threw his arms on her.
"I –I – had a – nightmare! I saw someone- he- was- he was kissing me!" Riya said not seeing the doctor, all she could see was Arjun, and knew if he was here, nothing can happen to her.
The doctor looked at Arjun and gestured him through eyes, this-is-what-I-was-talking-about-that-time.
Just then Riya looked at his newly bandaged wounds and wondered, "If I lost my memory in the accident then why I don't have any injuries?" Riya asked looking at Arjun's injuries.
This surprised everyone, Rathore, Shree and Chotu too came in.
"Why did Arjun have so many injuries and I have none!" she looked at Arjun, "just some scratches!" she said as she held her shoulders.
Everyone were shocked at this, they dint know what to answer. It was not the scratches by accident it was by Sikandar. He then gestured everyone to move out, he would handle it.
"What did you see?" Arjun asked and caressed her hairs.
Riya, on the thought of that dream, forgot about thinking and just remembered the guy. The eyes that held so much in them, they itself told her that they were capable of doing so much to her. The look pierced through her heart and shattered her soul.
"Riya?" Arjun called her seeing she was in thoughts, "what did you see?" Arjun asked again but now Riya was not able to tell him.
Riya thanked the one above that he didn't hear her first time, maybe if he knows I dreamt of someone else kissing- no! He might think I am characterless! She thought and sealed her lips together tightly, biting the inner skin. She thought of various explanations but just couldn't bring herself to lie to him.
"It was- it was blurry. I didn't see anything clearly." Riya told.
Arjun caressed her cheeks and hugged her, "its okay, nightmares are a part of night. And however darker night is, day comes. No night is long enough to stop the days to come." He said so sensually that Riya looked at him, forgetting all her fears and worries.
"Will they think of me as mad? Am I really going mad, Arjun?!" Riya asked looking out the door.
"Once a wise man said - The opinion which other people have of you is their problem, not yours." Arjun said and Riya looked at him. Is he the same man I was so scared of? Why does he appear to be some one I know so closely when the truth is, he does not like me at all! Will he ever let me kiss him? Riya thought looking at his lips, but then gasped at her own sinful thoughts.
Arjun looked at her eyeing his lips, he too wanted to kiss her, just to assure her that he loved her even after what she did. Even after she said I love you to that bas*ard, even when she- Arjun closed his eyes not wanting to remember the poisonous moment.
"How are you feeling?" Arjun asked.
"I was so scared." Riya complained.
"Don't be now, I am here." Arjun said and took her fully on the bed and hugged her partially, making her sleep on his own bed.
Riya looked at his freshly bandaged wound on the waist. His shirt revealed a part of it. "I can't sleep here, how will you-" she was denying.
"Its okay, I am good like this." Arjun said as he held her close.
How ironic, she finds solace in the very person, she's ought to run away from. Arjun thought of himself as her criminal, she is such a lovely human being, so innocent, so pure, she trusted everything so easily, just like a baby. Why she trusts me madly! Why? I was not at all worthy of this angel! Why was she so – lovable! He thought and placed a small kiss on her forehead and pulled his blanket on her.
Arjun looked at her face. So serene. So cute. Her childlike innocence, just like a newborn. In that moment Arjun was felt like he owned the world, and his world rested just besides him, in his arms.
Arjun then saw a mark, on her neck. He too remembered it was from the day he lost his cool, and became a beast to his desires. He pulled away her shirt and looked at the mark, he blew some air to it, trying to heal it for her thinking it was still afresh. But he didn't know, it was healed long ago.
But sometimes, its not the wound that hurts, but the scars left by them.
And in this case, he has left scars on her soul, by showing her the monster he was, and now, he was going to pay for it. He was going to ask her forgiveness in any possible manner he can. And he knew, this cute little angel would forgive him. She will! Because she will fall in love with me, again.
Arjun thought and smiled mischievously, after all no girl can resist Arjun Rawte, especially when he himself is in love with her!
Arjun then moved a bit away to let her have enough space to sleep and slept.
Riya again woke up, but saw Arjun with her. She smiled slyly and moved to him, maybe he- he wont – she couldn't wait and pressed her lips with his. Arjun was not asleep, he felt it but knew if he reacted, Riya would stop and currently, he enjoyed what she did. She held his stubble cheeks and brought him more to her. She sucked on his lips lightly, not wanting to wake him. Arjun smiled but then closed his mouth, if she found out! He liked her being daring enough to kiss him while sleeping, she knew but she forgot, he woke up with a slightest noise and now, here, she was kissing him, how can she think he wont wake up to that! Nave! He thought and his hands covered her waist on their own. He smacked himself for doing that as she left him abruptly and looked at him. He pretended to be asleep and she sighed. She then moved away and slept.
But after that, Arjun could not sleep, not even a blink.

Riya woke up, finding herself alone in the room, it was decorated and filled with flowers. She got out of the bed and touched a freshly picked lily. It was smiling down at her and she saw a bunch yellow roses. She went to it and touched them. Thinking she might be in a dream, she pinched herself, but nope, she was still surrounded by flowers.
Then the door opened and Shree and Chotu came inside, holding one bouquet of orchids.
They offered her that bouquet and she saw a card on it. She picked it and opened, 'get well soon.' It was written on the card.
She smiled and knew this was done by them.
"Thank you." she said and smiled happily.
And then Rathore entered, "Riya."
He said and gave her a bunch of daisies.
She smiled again and took the bouquet, thanking him too.
Then Mr. Rawte, doctor, nurse and even the police commissioner, Dustin Coelho came in the room and gave her flowers. The only missing person was Arjun, he came and stood at the door. The room of the hospital was now crowded. First with so many flowers and now so many people. He cleared his throat and made everyone aware of his presence and letting them know he wanted some private time with his wife.
Rathore then hugged Riya sideways and said, "we just came to let you know." He said looking at her, "you are not alone, we are all with you." he said and Riya thanked him.
Soon they all vanished seeing Arjun getting a bit angry. They knew, now that everything is over, he wanted Riya to himself.
"Hi." He said as he came in with a large bouquet of red and white roses. It had fifty red and fifty white roses, making it significant that the bouquet had both their qualities, Arjun's passion and her purity. Red and White.
Riya looked down in shyness. Her eyelashes covering her cheeks and her lips smiling slightly in shyness.
"I – umm- thanks." Riya said looking down.
"You are not welcome." Arjun said and Riya looked at him sad.
"Why?" she asked why he said that.
"You don't need to be thankful. There is no other person more deserving of them." He said and touched a flower in the bouquet.
Riya looked at him, today he was different, he looked different, and even he talked different.
"What happened?" she asked and Arjun looked at her.
He didn't know what to tell, there was so many things he wanted to share, he wanted to tell her that he was in love with her, he loved her! The very thing he knew she would die to hear! But yet, fate has played so well that he knew it and she wanted it but still, he cannot say it. It will be a shock for her, and moreover it would make her suspicious that something else had happened in the past too, and her suspicion was the last thing he wanted. Right now it was for her best if she trusted him.
Just when the awkwardness started, the doctors came in and asked to examine Arjun. Riya blushed at the thought of him being shirtless so that the doctors could check on his wound. But wait a minute!
Riya turned and saw a nurse standing there holding the BP machine.WHY NURSE! Don't they have ward boys! She felt herself go hot with jealousy. Jealous! Of course I am jealous! He is my husband! Even though he hadn't accepted me the wife -way, but still! I am his wife! Riya looked back and cursed the girl.
She went out of the room and saw Arjun taking out the shirt in one go, his wound was dressed and thankfully it was not bleeding anymore. She then looked at the nurses, one was holding the file, and the other! She was eyeing him shamelessly! He is my husband! Look away you, - you – nurse!! Riya said as she saw the nurse still ogling on her husband's body. The doctor checked his wound from the dressing itself, and concluded that if its not paining and not bleeding, he can change the dressing at night.
Then the nurse came to Arjun and smiled at him! Riya clenched her jaws and fisted her tiny fist. Seeing the shameless nurse go to him and touch his arm, to take the blood pressure, Riya got an idea. She saw Rathore standing just behind her, talking to Shree. She bit her lip slightly thinking if she should do this. But then saw that nurse touch his waist! She 'pretends' to be concerned for him, but I know this girl! She just wants to! Aah!!
Just then she held her head and collapsed, knowing Rathore was just behind him, and yes he caught her before she could hit the floor.
Rathore saw her falling and quickly turned and held her in his arms, and she fainted! She acted so well, that it looked like she did.
"DOCTOR!!" He touched her face and patted her cheeks.
The doctor and Arjun ran to the door hearing Rathore call them like that.
Arjun opened the door and saw Riya fainted in Rathore's arms, just outside his door.
"Riya!" Arjun said and bent down to look at her, but knowing his condition, Rathore held her up and carried her to the bed.
Riya smiled inwardly, her plan worked. Well after the 'accident' he seems to care for me so much! Riya wondered, but then, why wont he, after all, its because of his rash driving, I lost my memory!
As she felt the bed underneath, she opened her eyes, pretending to be sick.
"I am- sick. I feel-" before she could say, Arjun said.
"No, no! You rest we understand! You are weak!" he turned and ordered, "every one out!" and quickly the nurses and the doctor went away.
"How are you feeling?" Rathore asked as he held her hand.
"I am feeling weak." She said and held her head.
"Yes, you dint eat anything from last night, its good you have something." Arjun said concerned.
"Yes, I would make a call to the patient canteen." Rathore said and Arjun sat besides Riya while he held the extension and called the room service for the patients.
Riya felt elated once Arjun sat besides her. He cares for me! She thought and happily hugged him. But then realized he was still shirtless. She moved away and Mr. Rawte gave a look to Arjun. He too shied and wore his shirt instantly.
"What will you have Riya?" Rathore asked and Riya thought for a second, she looked around, they were everyone she could see, Rathore, calling the canteen for her food, Mr. Rawte, standing besides her if she needed anything and then she saw Shree, offering her water and Chotu, Chotu was busy picking up the flowers in the room and putting them near her, so that she feels good.
Rathore looked at her and saw her lost, which is why she didn't answer him, he then just ordered some sandwiches and milk and went to her.
"Is something bothering you?" he asked and looked at her, as a brother she knew he would do anything.
"I don't like the nurses!" she said but then bit her tongue.
"Why?" Rathore asked.
"They, they give me injection! I don't like them!" she said holding her hand where last night she got a shot. "I want to go home."
Rathore smiled and told her, "you can't go now, you see, Arjun is also not well, but to make you feel at home, I have a surprise!" he said and gestured Chotu to bring him.
Chotu went out and bought amit in.
"Amit!" Riya looked at him and quickly amit ran to her.
"Riya didi! How are you?" he asked.
"I am fine." She said and Arjun looked at her not believing.
Just now she was weak! And seeing this monster she is 'fine!'Arjun thought angrily and glared Chotu, he understood he was angry to bring amit here. Chotu gulped and sat on the sofa quietly.
"okay okay! Now everybody," Arjun said looking at amit, "let Riya rest." He then tried and dragged everybody out.
"I am going nowhere!" amit said and sat on the bed with Riya.
"You are coming out!" Arjun said sternly with a tone of, don't-let-me-repeat.
"I don't want anybody to go." Riya said and Shree happily sat on the chair near her.
"But you need rest." Arjun said.
"I don't. I want you guys to be near Me." she said and Rathore and Mr. Rawte too sat near her, soon everybody surrounded her and she smiled seeing everyone take so much care of her.
"Great!" he said annoyed and sat on the sofa.
Everybody smiled at his lame attempt of being alone with her.

"I can't keep her in the dark." Said Arjun.
Rathore turned and looked at the foolishness Arjun was doing, "then what are you going to do?! Truth! You say, telling the truth would solve everything? So go! Go and tell her! Tell her that the person she sees in her dream was the most wanted criminal! Tell her that she was kidnapped and nearly raped! Will that make you happy!?" he said as he saw Riya, now sleeping peacefully. "if you want, go and tell her, but let me tell you, I am not with in all this!" Rathore warned, "I will not help you and if anything happened to her after that, I will not leave you either!" saying so Rathore went away leaving Arjun in the lobby.
