Chapter 17- Father & Friend

Justice Choudhury was a name reckoned with power.
He had everything and yet nothing. People used to sing praises for him and yet behind his back they made fun of his son for he was nothing but a failure. He had thought that he would rise to his name but nope he was still struggling .After patiently waiting for all these years it was high time to take things in his hand. The only obstacle to his path of success was his relationship with Riya.
Riya Dutta had everything name, fame, money and a career going great. Until they both were together Abhi would never prosper, he would always be her shadow but he wanted to see his sun shining.
It wasn't the fact that he hated Riya but just she was an obstacle for her sons future .He knew that things were not going good with them and it might be a good to separate them forever for his son good future and for that he knew that only ACP Arjun Suryakant Rawte can help him. After all if the media was to be believed and Arjun behavior with Riya during the parties they had met were all the proof that something was brewing and he just had to turn the tide in his favor.

Arjun had been surprised when he had been called by Abhi father; yes that's how he had introduced himself .He was anxious more than being surprised or shocked as to what he required of him.

There wasn't any reply from Arjun but he only stared him which made Mr. Choudhury continue.
"I know you love Riya "He glanced at the man in front of him but there was no reaction on his face
"I know that you love Riya, and she is a nice girl .It easy for anyone to fall in love with her .My son also loves him but the only problem is that his love is his biggest mistake .I want Riya out of my son's life and only you can help me in that. Once she is out I am sure that my son would be able to concentrate better on building his future than trying to figure out the mess that has been created and i know that you do have a role to play in it."
"And what would you want of me Sir "
"Nothing much, he has got an opportunity for higher studies in US and I want you to sponsor it "
"Why don't you help him "
"Do you really think that your son would take help from me? "
"He would never take any help from me or never use any of my contacts .If he would have taken my help them then I wouldn't be here sitting with you and discussing this. I know that your family offers scholarships to students and I just want to make sure that he gets it. There are various ways that you can help him and I am sure being an officer you would know where to pull the strings."
After a moment of silence ...
"Thanks for the offer Sir, but I don't think that would be required "with that Arjun went away without any backward glance to him or he would notice that Justice Choudhury was now more firm in his decision

None o9f them realized that karma does come back to haunt you in one way or the other .Arjun would have never thought that the day would come when Riya would be so near and yet so distant .The mirage of love that had been built came crashing down and left her broken and him hurt .But would he change his actions ' Nope because if the things wouldn't go his way meant that she would be someone else and that he couldn't now tolerate .They both had already bonded beyond friendship
PRESENT
Riya sat in her cabin and opened the drawer which had all their memories stored .The gifts he had given to her, their photographs and of course the one most important to her 'his notes .He used to send it along with flowers on every important occasion and the last one said

Shree saw Riya lost somewhere and finally thought to have the overdue conversation with her .He jerked her out of the thoughts and sat next to her.
