This story definitely has a reality touch in it.After reading this i can only conclude is that riya being closed to Abhi since childhood has some what mistaken it as love only because she knows him in & out.But after arjun's entry in her life she is getting closed to him conciously or unconciously .Coming to arjun,i like his viewpoint as to make riya realise if she actually loves abhi or not.His saying that he'll atleast try making her fall in love with him.Abhi ,on the other hand,is somehow justified to being an overprotective BF,reason being we as human's.No one in this world will like their loved ones to be closed to someone else,but on the other hand if he actually trust Riya then he should let her be the same & accept her the way she is without manipulating her.For now eagerly waiting to know how their life's changed.Also it is definitely is a very lonnng update. 😉

Chapter 12- The First Crack

"Maam."," Mr. Choudhury is here to see you "
"Abhi, she should have expected him to come but why now.
"Send him in."
Abhi walked into meet a Riya who seemed so foreign yet familiar. It was the same face he had seen every day while growing up but the sindoor and the mangalsutra made him realize that she wasn't his anymore. Today she was much more confident person and a better officer .He had already read about her success stories, the ways she had helped the team to solve various and of course when she had swallowed the bacteria ball and yet fought her way back. She was all over the media and was praised for her act of bravery. How ironic, the same media who had once lashed her was now singing her praises
"Abhi" She welcomed him warmly. The smile on her face was as familiar as it always had been, yet it had a maturity that came only with experience. "I wasn't expecting you here."
"How could I not come to see you?" He couldn't hold back on how he felt.
"I should have expected it." She shook her head, amused. "But I am glad that you came because I wanted to tell you how proud I am of you for all that you have accomplishments. So achieved what you wanted right, the most sought after lawyer"
"But I didn't achieve what was most important to me, you!" "No achievement can ever overcome the fact that you aren't in my life." His anger & helplessness evident in his voice
"I'll always be with you, as your best friend. No matter what happens, remember our friendship." Riya tried to console him in the only way she could
"I don't mean our friendship!" He spat out. "I mean you! The Riya who I love and have loved for my whole life! Let us leave this all behind and runaway together. We can run away from all of this."
He knew that Riya would never take that step but still he couldn't stop himself. "Every time I think of all that we have achieved, nothing matters if you are not happy!
"Abhi, what we had is in the past. I did love you but it changed to love for a friend. I am married and nothing can change that."
"I don't care that you are married." He shouted and reached across to grasp her hand. "Forget about Arjun, he doesn't deserve you. I can't see you living life like this, you deserve happiness!
"I care that I am married." She gently pulled her hand away. "I care because I love him. You know that I love him. Also he has given me so many wonderful memories that I can live my whole life with just them. You say I am unhappy with him it's not the case Abhi.His Love is a fire which burns me everyday but yes it only soothes me . I am just angry at him or probably at the circumstances or fate or myself she murmured the last part to herself"
Abhi closed his eyes at her words. He had of course known that she loved that man despite all that he had done to them. Still he had hoped that her anger would have overtaken her love and that the love she felt for Abhi would have overwhelmed it. "How can you love Arjun?
"Love doest knock before entering Abhi .I never decided to love him but eventually even after all the walls I had built around myself, he managed to break them all." Riya gave a sad chuckle. "I know that he is the one responsible for our heart break. He was the one to shatter me and then helped me to pick of the pieces of my broken heart. But none of that changes the fact that I fell in love with him."
Abhi brushed his hands across his hair in frustration. "This is entirely my fault!"
"Things might have been different...if certain incidents hadn't taken place." Riya phrased the comment delicately, not wanting to make the situation worse. "We would have been married and I am sure we would have been happy. But somewhere down the line after few years there would be something that we would find missing ".
Fate has its own reasons. We were never meant to be together .You can still find love and happiness Abhi, I know you can."
"I am so sorry Riya! It's only because of me that you married that man." Remorse was etched in every word.
"You can't change the past." Riya voice was stronger. "We are both stronger because of our hurdles. .
Abhi stood up, unable to bare the conversation. "I know that you haven't forgiven me. But I want you to know that I love you and will always fight for you."
"Abhi if you would have fought for me earlier then things would be different, but know even if you fight nothing changes. You know I read somewhere love apparently has to be proven otherwise it's fickle "(I love this line)
Before Abhi could say anything more she walked out of the room only to find herself facing her husband whose face clearly masked any emotion he was felling currently
ACP Arjun Rawte Cabin
Riya stood facing away from him, ignoring his presence.
"What did he want from you." as he walked towards her
"Why ask questions when you already know the answer to?" She taunted, not moving an inch away. She had long ago let go of any awe or fear of him. "What is it you really want to know?"
I know you love me." Arjun murmured, ignoring her comment. "You can pretend all you want but I know it's true."
"There was a time when I was the only person you could think about." He countered.
"That was a time when I trusted you and then there is now." She retorted back.
"Stop it Riya, stop blaming me for everything that happened. Why is that a big deal to you anyways .You fell in love with me. Did I force you for that? I agree that I manipulated few situations but in the end did i make him go away .He left you because he didnt trust you and he chose his future over you "
"And another thing, you will always love me." With those words he took her lips against his. He wanted to make her accept his love and he didn't know any other way.
He let his lips move over hers, leaving no room for her to move away. She was intoxicating for him as always. He let his hands entwine into her hair and pressed her against him. Riya tried to not lose herself in him. It would be so easy to just let go of the steel control she had over her emotions, so easy to just let herself drown in the love she felt for him. But still she managed to keep still. Thus she held back all love she had for him
No matter how much Arjun tried he couldn't break her ice facade. She might not have pushed him away neither did she protest but still he wanted her to respond. He wanted her! So he pushed himself away from her, despite the protest from his heart and the ache of being parted from her.
Relief and disappointment flooded through her as he pulled away from her just as about when she was ready to give in. She tried not to think which emotion was predominant, instead just focused on staring away from him.
"Why do you do this?" Arjun growled out and slammed his hand against the wall. But she didn't even flinch.
"Did I push you away?" Riya countered. "Did I stop you?"
What could he say to her questions? So instead he stormed out of the room.
It was only when he left that Riya touched her lips and closed her eyes to let out the tiny droplets that would no longer stay back.
Why do I love you?
PAST
Riya woke up early than usual as her dreams centered on Arjun. It was 5 AM and she was contemplating whether to sleep again but her eyes landed on the empty couch. Arjun wasn't there but where he would go at 5AM in the morning.
She quickly freshened up and was about to wake others but he arrived before it
"Riya, you up already "
"I woke and saw you weren't there so I thought so check with it others"
"Oh That, I went to jog nothing unusual, I am a early riser "he replied with a smile
Arjun just took his clothes and went towards the washroom, he turned just at the door and added
I hope you slept well Riya' and winked at her
And the color returned back to her cheeks thinking about last night
DREAM HOME ' Ariya Room
All the inhabitants were questioned by Sameer and also by the team as civilans
They had mingled with them but all were leading to dead end. None of them were related or had any past with victims.
'I just don't understand yaar poora information nikal liya CCTV camers footage bhi check kar liya 'Kuch bhi nahi nahi "Shree said
"Shree I know but aise kaisa ho sakta hai yaar , I mean murder woods main hua , koi bhi apni cottage se bahar gaya nahi ..ab koi bhoot toh nahi aayega na"
"but Ri , tum hi socho na 'aisa ho sakta hai kya "
"Kyun nahi ho sakta hai guys , agar hamra killer phele se hi un dono ka wait kar raha ho "Arjun added starling all
Shree, humne murder ki day ki footage dekhe hai, go two days back and you will know who are killer is "Sameer said with a business like tone
Finally the killer was caught who turned out to be Neerav Shekawat , he was touted next in line but now when he thought that his position could be taken away , he didn't twice before finishing his competition Neerav checked out the place two days before and since then was waiting in the woods before finishing them .He had been a inhabitant of Shimla and knew that forest would lead him to the outskirts where his people were already waiting for him.
The culprit was arrested and finally the inhabitants were free to go back to their homes.
(P.S- I started drafting the case but then I couldn't do justice so please ignore any errors with it)
It was their last day in Shimla and the whole ETF had a field day checking the various locales .Of Course the trio was happy where as Arjun & Sameer also joined them after lot of persuasion. For Riya it was a double celebration, firstly the case was solved and secondly Abhi was coming to pick her up. Living with Arjun under one roof was already taking a toll on her. Arjun being himself hadn't stopped teasing her since that day but what was alarming the attraction that was binding her towards him. He slowly and steadily was penetrating her thoughts and dreams more than she would have liked to.
This was wrong and wouldn't be good for anyone of them
They were returning back from the market when it started raining heavily. Riya hadn't counted on the weather to be this bad.
She was drenched in her dress, without a jacket unlike Arjun, so he dragged her along to one of the nearby hotels.
"Really this is unnecessary." Riya protested as he pulled her hand into the building.
"I don't want you to catch I cold." He glared at her as he said this but his eyes soften with an emotion that she couldn't read. "I wouldn't want anything bad to happen to you."
For some reason Riya could feel her heart skip a beat at his tone and words. It seemed as if they were filled with sincerity.
"I am sure I'll be fine." Riya tried to reassure him but right at that moment she started sneezing .
"I can see that." Arjun sounded frustrated. "Just go in and let your dress dry. In the meanwhile wear my shirt."
"What?" Riya asked shocked and confused. "Wear your shirt? But-"
"Don't worry; I have a jacket. I'll be warm enough but your dress is dripping wet." He explained
"Alright" Riya agreed with hesitation.
The brush of the cotton against her skin and the smell of his scent so close to her, it was all too intimate.. After making sure that all the buttons were done, she tentatively poked her head out of the room to look out for Arjun
And there he was standing in the hallway, wearing only his vest.
And the devil of attraction hit her
Something is not right, her conscience told her.
"Arjun", Riya hesitatingly called out.
He turned around and was mesmerized by her. She looked so pure and beautiful in the white shirt. Seeing her wear his shirt only heightened his possessiveness, the feeling that only she would only share such with him.
Riya could feel herself blush as she stood in front of Arjun wearing his shirt.
There was no way to escape the burning look in his eyes. At that moment everything else ceased to exist, just them in the hallway. A moment that made the past, present and even future meaningless. With slow and determined steps Arjun walked towards her until hit foot hit the upturned vase on the floor.
Riya saw Arjun hitting the vase and rushed ahead in order to save him .But alas she couldn't and in process to save him both of them landed on the floor of the empty hallway with him on her .
Arjun couldn't help but think how perfectly they fit together like a jigsaw puzzle .Riya on the other hand was too shocked to even react . She could fell every plane of his body and his shirt wasn't helping at all.She looked at him and found him staring at her with sich tenderness that it made her heart skip a beat and unknowlingly she held him tighter
And that is how Abhi found them
