Chapter 2
It was around 9:30 in the morning. Swayam was walking by the passage of his office, that office which every people wanted to work in. Their company is one of the famous companies in the India and well known to the world.
He pressed the button of the lift and was waiting for it to come when the receptionist came and told him that a lady is waiting for him from the past half an hour outside his cabin. He asked her who she is and she said the lady has told him that she is family.
His heart started to pound on his chest. His heart was thinking "can Sharon come to meet him. But why she would?".
His mind replied "may be she wants to borrow money from him".
His heart replied "no mom said she is not that type of girl".
His mind snapped back "oh shut up, every girl and every people runs after money. Just like Priya".
The thought of Priya made his heart silent as it remembered about the immense pain it has to face because of her.
Swayam couldn't take this fight any more. He mentally shut both them up and started to tap on door of the lift lightly with his fingers.
"where the hell is the lift? Why its taking so much time."
The lift's door opened in few seconds and he went in and pressed the button for the 7th floor.
After few seconds the door of the lift opened and the sight made his heart happy.
His heart said "see she is here and look she is looking so beautiful". Sharon was wearing a baby pink salwar suit with embroidery design on it.
He saw her nervously moving from here and there. His heart said "why she is so tensed".
His mind replied "see I told you because she wants something from him and what else can it be other than money".
He again mentally slapped both of them to keep quite. He went out of the lift and was walking into his cabin when Sharon called him.
"Swayam.."
He didn't turn back or look at her. He sternly told her..
"Come in my cabin and take a seat."
She did as he said. He removed his coat and kept it on the head rest of his chair.
He asked her sternly "what do you want from me?"
Sharon knew she will have to keep lot of patience to handle him and his temper. She mentally prepared herself for this challenge, which she has done with his destiny. She challenged it that she will change Swayam and his thinking. Its his destiny who has hurt him beyond limit because of which he has changed so much. She challenges it that she will not let it hurt him anymore. She will bring happiness in his life and she will make him happy, bearing all the pain which he will give her. She will happily with open hands take all his pain but never will let him get hurt again.
Swayam saw that she was lost somewhere. So he moved his hand in front of her eyes.
"Are you in here with me or just your body is present here. I have nothing to do with it so speak up."
"Yeah I am here and I am sorry. By the way hi I am Sharon Raiprakash."
She forwards her right hand. He hold her right hand with his and at that moment he felt shiver run down his body. He quickly pulled his hand back.
"Listen cut all these and come straight to the point why you are here and please make it short. I don't have time to waste."
"Swayam do you think talking with family members are a waste of time?"
He was confused by her question. So he asked her confused "family member? Who family member?"
"Me. I am going to be your better half Swayam."
Swayams heart told him "wow I think she is really happy with this marriage"
His mind replied "she has to. After all Swayam is one of the eligible bachelors of India".
"SHUT UP."
She shivers out of fear, but she told herself to be strong. "Did I say something wrong?"
"No I wasn't talking to you. Forget it." He takes a deep breath "just forget all these things and tell me why you are here."
"I am here to ask you when you are free today?"
"Free for what?"
"So that we can go for shopping."
"Ok so you want money for the shopping?" He asked her angrily. "FINE HERE IS MY CREDIT CARD. TAKE IT."
He with a frustration on his face took out his wallet from his pocket and throws it on the table in front of her.
"TAKE ANY OF THE CREDIT CARDS OF WHICH EVER BANK YOU LIKE AND PLEASE LEAVE, I HAVE WORK TO DO." He snaps at her.
"I don't want your credit card Swayam, I want you for the shopping." She said quietly to him.
"WHAT WILL I DO THERE? OH YEAH RIGHT IF I WILL NOT GO THEN WHO WILL SIGN. YOU NEED MY SIGNATURE, RIGHT? FINE I AM GIVING YOU CASH. HOW MUCH MONEY DO YOU NEED? JUST TELL ME AND THEN LEAVE."
"Swayam I meant I don't need your cash or credit card. I have always wished when my lov..i mean my marriage will be fixed and I will come to know who my life partner is, I will buy him a gift of his own choice. I don't know your choice right now so for that reason I want you to accompany me to the mall."
He was shocked.
His heart said " wow she really is a wonderful girl. She wants to buy you a gift. In Priya's case she always wanted gifts from you. She used to always take, take and take. But she.."
His mind shouted "just stop flying and put your feet back on the ground. Today she is saying she wants to give something to Swayam and from tomorrow she will also take, take and take from him. This is just an act. Just like Priya used to act with him".
Again the pain given by Priya silent's his heart.
Swayam was now fed up with these fights between his heart and mind.
"Listen Miss Raiprakash can you please tell me what deal do you want?"
She was totally confused. "Deal?"
"Yes deal. You are giving me gift with your one hand so tell me what do you want to take from the other one?"
It was really becoming difficult for her to take this cold behavior from him. She was feeling like crying. But she again told her to be strong. This situation will change and so will he.
"ok the deal is I will give you a gift and in return you will make me your friend."
"Friend? And what will you do with my friendship?" He asked her confused. "What will it give to you?"
"What your parent's relationship with you gives you Swayam?"
"happiness."
"Your friendship will give me that, 'Happiness'."
He was stunned. His friendship, his presence can give her happiness. She only wants his friendship and not money? May be not. May be these are just dramas to reach to his bank account.
"Fine what else?"
"Nothing. I just want you to support me in every way like a true friend. So will you come for the shopping today?"
"Yeah I guess so."
"Still not sure?"
"Ok fine I will come. He said. "Which mall?"
"What is the only thing you want?"
"True love."
Saying this he bits his tongue and Sharon feels she has reached the second level of this challenge.
"Listen I will come with you but buy whatever you want for me. I don't want anything."
She grins mentally watching the way he is hiding his feelings. "fine with me. So tell me the time."
"6:30 sharp here in my office. I don't like people who are not punctual."
"Don't worry, I won't be late." She said with a smile. "So I guess I should go now."
"Yeah I guess too."
She stood up for leaving his cabin when he asked.
"You want any gift?"
"You gave me the best gift of this world."
He asked confused. "what did I give you?"
"Your friendship."
A small smile crept on his face. He didn't realize but his heart was feeling like dancing. His heart thought maybe the ointment which heals pain has come in his life, and his mind was too shocked to react. It didn't have any idea why she is been so sweet to him and not wanting any materialistic things from him. That small smile on his face washed away all those pain which she was feeling because of his cold behavior. She felt relaxed and happy at the same time. Relaxed because she was getting the confidence to make his destiny lose and make him happy and happy because she was happy to see him happy.
"So bye for now, have a wonderful day ahead."
"Yeah same to you."
"Start you official work having this."
She brought out a packet of five star from the back pocket of her purse and gave it to him. His face lits up seeing it.
He said excitedly. "hey I love five star."
It was a pleasurable sight for Sharon to see him like that. That smile and that excitement reflected on her face. But then again in a second he became serious.
He said sternly "thank you."
Her face fell. But she convinced herself to stay positive. She told her that there will be one day when he will not hide his feelings and will open up to her.
"Its ok. Bye. See you in the evening."
"Yeah bye."
