Chapter 39 Part A

"And why?" Shaina asked back.

"Pata nahin, just felt like it," Sam replied a bit embarrassed, "let's not waste time, come and eat before everything gets cold. And after that we are going for some sightseeing!"

Shaina couldn't complain at all, she had a glimpse of her Sam as they were together in the past before he had completely forgotten about her. She sat silently and started to have her breakfast. After having her breakfast, she got up taking her dirty plates and was going to wash them, but Sam took the plates out of her hands and said, "Nahin, you go and get ready, we'll go for some site visits."

"But yeh plates?" Shaina asked not sure at all.

"It's ok, I can do them! It's my treat!" Sam said and pushed her away.

Shaina turned and was going to get ready, when suddenly she remembered something. She stopped in her tracks and asked, "Sam kya hum Riya se milne ja sakte hein?"

Sam raised his eyes from washing the dirty plates to look at Shaina, "Sure, I also wanna meet her again! But we don't know where she is yet. Arjun has left since this morning to find her. I'll call him and ask!"

"Thanks Sam, thanks for everything. This breakfast and your small gestures," Shaina said happily.

"Ek simple si thanks se kaam nahin chalega?" Sam teased back.

Shaina was shocked on hearing Sam teased her in such a way, but she wasn't one to ever accept defeat, "Acha aur aap ko kya chahiye?"

Sam looked fondly at Shaina and said, "That's the problem! I don't know yet what I want, but I feel like I'm on the right road! Now go and get ready, otherwise we'd end up remaining here itself!"

Sam had already washed and wiped the plates, and decided to call Arjun. And finally Sam came to know everything about Riya and where she was staying.

He went to wait for Shaina outside, he had already planned where he would be taking her, and in the end they'd all go and meet Riya and have diner together.

Shaina came out after a few minutes wearing a blue jeans and pink top. She had tied her hair in a ponytail. Sam couldn't seem to stop staring at her, she looked so beautiful and young. She hadnt even worn any make-up, but yet her beauty could take his breath away.

What was happening to him? Why was he feeling like this for Shaina! Since the start he had felt such a powerful attraction towards her, that's why he had been very rude and insulting to her. He was just trying to get away from her and her charms, but in the end he couldn't save himself at all. He was attracted to her like a magnet, and the more she stayed near him, the more he felt himself falling for her. He wasn't sure if he'd ever be able to love her again, especially after what Simran did to him, he didn't know if he could believe in love again. But then what he felt for Shaina also couldn't be ignored, and each day that feeling was getting more and more powerful.

Shaina knew that Sam was looking at her with pensive eyes, she wondered what was wrong with him. She only wanted to help him, but she couldn't tell him the truth yet. But the looks in his eyes, all his love for her could be seen in those eyes, but Sam needed some more time to admit to his feelings. And she was ready to wait for no matter how long till Sam came to her. But remembering the recent things which happened, she couldn't stop herself from thinking that it was only a matter of a few days before her love story would again be complete.

Both went together, and by the end of the day they had grown even more and more closer to each other. But still Sam was trying to ignore what his heart was repeating to him. Finally it was night time, and both started their way to the orphanage, where Arjun would be waiting for them.

Earlier in the day in the orphanage

Riya opened her eyes, when she heard the door being opened. She watched him going out. Her heart burst with love for him, because for once he had respected her decision. She was still looking at the open door, when she saw him look again in the room and said, "That doesn't mean that I'll let you alone for even one minute. I'll be your shadow for these three weeks, so prepare yourself Miss Riya" and winking at her went away.

Riya waited for some more minutes to get up and leave the office. She didn't know what Arjun was planning to do, but after one week she suddenly felt so happy and at peace.

It was almost time for her lessons in self defense to start, she hurried to the playground, where she usually gave her lessons. But as soon as she neared her group, she was shocked to see the Matron and Arjun already there. The Matron was introducing Arjun to the kids saying, "Bache yeh ACP Arjun hein ETF se, he'll be here for the following weeks. He and Riya will together teach you how to defend yourself and be responsible citizens in this country.

Riya came neared to them, and looked confusedly at Arjun, and asked the Matron, "what's going on?"

"Riya, it's good you came. Arjun will be with us for the following weeks. He'll be also helping you and teaching all the kids here valuable things about Law," the Matron said, excused herself and went away.

Riya stared crossly at Arjun, went near to him and said silently only for his ears, "What's the meaning of this? Weren't you supposed to give me some time?"

Arjun looked at Riya with an innocent way and told her, "Well do you think I'm here for you? Well wrong Miss Riya, the Matron had since long asked me to give a few lessons about Law. So I'm here only for that!"

He gave him a sweet smile and turned to look at the kids, but then he remembered to tell something else to Riya, "But only for you! I told you I'm not leaving you alone Riya! Take all the time you need, but you have to stay in front of my eyes!" and again winked at her.

"Really? So you'd spy on me now? And follow me everywhere?" Riya asked angrily.

Part B

"Did I ever tell you that you looked so lovely and charming when you are angry," Arjun said instead of replying to her. He then turned as if to say the topic was closed, and went to interact with the kids. Riya stared at him with frustration. What was he going to do now, she thought helplessly.

But on the overall the day ended on a positive note. Though Arjun kept stealing glances at her during the whole lessons, and sometimes he would also looked lovingly at her, sometimes he'd teased her with words, sometimes he'd make her angry with his jokes, but in the end he kept his distance from her, he didn't once came too near of her nor he touched her at all.

It was almost evening now, Riya was completely tired and retired to her room, to take her shower and then have her diner. Arjun in the meantime had completely disappeared. He hadnt even said goodbye to her, she pouted as she was going to her room. But as soon as she entered her room, she heard someone knocking on her door.

"Oh god, ab kaun hein," she said and went to open the door, with her towel on her shoulders.

As soon as she opened the door, she found Arjun leaning lazily on her door frame.

"What do you want?" Riya asked angrily.

"I doubt you wanna know what I want,"Arjun teased her and watched her going red.

"Don't tell me you'll also come inside while I'm having my shower," Riya said still angry at Arjun, for being able to make her blush at any time and instant.

"Not a bad idea Miss Riya, and if you are proposing, why should I refuse," Arjun joked back and made as if he was going to enter her room.

"Nahin aisa kuch bhi nahin! Stop there itself! What do you want?" Riya asked angrily.

"Nothing that your overactive mind is thinking! Actually get ready, we are going out for diner," Arjun said, but before he could continue, Riya stopped him and said, " No, I'm not going anywhere with you!"

This managed to damp on Arjun's happiness a bit, but he controlled his temper, he had known from the start that it wasn't going to be easy.

He stood straight and came near to Riya, without touching her at all, and said, "Sam and Shaina wants to meet you, so don't worry you have to be alone with me. They'll be coming in one hour, I have already talked with the Matron. Get ready," and went away without any further words.

After one hour, Riya got ready wearing a black dress. She was very happy she was going to meet Shaina and Sam after such a long time. She went out and was happy seeing Shaina out waiting for her. Riya rushed to give Shaina a big hug, and couldn't stop her eyes from watering.

"Riya how are you? Why did you run away?" Shaina said back. She was finally happy that she had seen Riya. Now she could sleep well knowing Riya was fine.

"Bas aise hi," Riya said, not wanting to tell anyone of her problems with Arjun.

Shaina tilted Riya's chin to look in her eyes and said, "It's ok if you don't wanna say anything, but don't worry I'm here for you if you ever need me! Ab chale Sam is waiting for us outside."

Riya and Shaina went outside, and Sam was waiting for them in his car. Riya entered in the back seats, while Shaina went to sit infront next to Sam. Soon Sam started the engine and they left the orphanage. They soon reached their restaurant and all three went inside. Since they had left the orphanage Riya was searching for Arjun, but couldn't see him at all. In the end, she thought he might be waiting for them in the restaurant, but unfortunately throughout the whole diner Arjun never came. But still Riya's eyes kept looking for him. Throughout the diner, Riya tried her best to laugh and participate in the conversation with Sam and Shaina, but despite everything her sadness could be seen by anyone, even by someone who was seated in a far dark corner. From there he could watch Riya, but Riya didn't even know she was being watched.

After the diner, all three got up and went away. Only after they had gone, did the other person came out of his corner, and finally he also went back home, feeling very sad but knowing it was important. But the only positive sign was that Riya did miss him like he had been missing her. He reached the beach house earlier, and went to sleep early. But he couldn't stop himself from calling Sam to know if Riya had reached the orphanage safely or not.

Sam had just reached the orphanage when his mobile started to ring.

"Hain Arjun, kya hein?" Sam asked, "Sure why not, she's still here, I'll give her the phone!"

"Riya there's a call for you," Sam said and gave his mobile to Riya.

"So did you enjoy your diner?" Arjun asked.

"Yes of course, why?" Riya said faking a happy note, she didn't want Arjun to know she had missed him.

"Ok then, have a beauty sleep my love," Arjun said and cut the call.

Riya handed back Sam's phone and after hugging Shaina she went away.

Both Shaina and Sam were returning back in the car, when Shaina suddenly said, "Sam, she doesn't really look happy. And her eyes were searching for Arjun throughout the diner!"

"Yep, but I don't even understand why at the final moment, Arjun said he wont come!" Sam told her, "But let's not worry too much for them. It's so visible that each is dying out of love for each other, but there seems to be some problem between them! But knowing Arjun, I'm sure he'll make everything right!"

"And now how about we forget these two and talk about something else," Sam said.

"So what are we going to talk about now?" Shaina said with a smile.

Sam gave her a wicked smile and drove the car…
