Chapter 9 |The Sparking Sensation
Did they burry her alive or something?
He thought playing with a pen in his hands, as he was comfortably sitting in his leather chair, abandoning the scattered files on his desk.
Burry her alive? This is not Anarkali's era Prince Salim
A voice in his head poked.
Should I call her…or should I wait…?
Before he could ponder upon his confusions Mr Aman Mathur entered his cabin, unannounced, without knocking. Like always.
"Kiska hai yeh tumkko intezaar main hoon na…dekh lo idhar to aik baar main ho na..kham-"
"Shut up!"
Arnav stopped him fearing he might lose his sense of hearing.
"hmm hmm hmm hmm"
When did Aman listen to Arnav? And today was no different.
He was one stubborn child.
Arnav rolled his eyes at him before he frustratingly asked,
"Tumhe koi kaam nahi hai kya?"
looks like Naina had poisoned Aman's mind with the same assumptions she had about me and Khushi…Oh god.
"hum to apna kaam karke aaye hain…lekin lagta hai yahan pe kisi ka kaam mein mann nahi lag raha"
He said mockingly pitying him as he rested his right hand on Arnav's desk, as he scanned the desk of scattered files.
"I was…just..taking a break"
"sure"
Aman launched on the adjacent sofa as he loosened his tie.
"break to tab lo ge na jab koi kaam karoge"
There we go again.
If there was another word for self-obsession it was Aman. No doubt.
"sab ko pata hai aap bohat kaam karte hain, ab maaf kardo mujhe"
He was snow even tired of rolling his eyes.
Aman let out a sarcastic laugh.
"just give her a call, you might die while waiting"
Maybe he is right.
Wait. What.
"give who a call?"
Arnav tried.
"okay okay mister top secret I will leave the room then you can have your private conversations"
He said as he got up to leave.
"I was just waiting for an important call"
He tried. Again.
"of course"
He said before leaving the room, Arnav could hear a smile in his tone.
Without wasting anymore time he called her and waited breathing heavily.
Why am I breathing heavily? This is screwed up.

Khushi picked up on the first ring.
"Phone kar leta hai insaan"
"I can say the same for you"
"well…."
"well?"
"I was busy"
She made up.
"waiting for my call?"

"Hell no"
liar liar pants on fire.
A voice in her head mocked.
"Of course"
He rolled his eyes.
She was desperate to talk to him, and it was dripping from her voice.
The two talked for what seemed like hours. Arnav was relieved that she was alive, knowing Mr and Mrs Hitler, anything could have happened. She was glad he called, it gave her a strange sense of happiness, a new kind of excitement, regardless of the obvious dislike her parents showed towards him.

"So…did you talk to her?"
Naina asked him as she pressed the button on the coffee maker and waited. He stopped his coffee mug mid way and looked at her with a raised eye brow.
What the-
Her back was facing him but he could tell she was smiling victoriously at him.
"Talked to who?"
He took a sip and checked the lunch room for any other people.
"You know…"
She took a seat in front of him.
When Naina didn't say anything he gestured from his head, telling her to finish her thought.
"still friend zoned?"
"Oh shut up!"
Aman and Naina, un hired, un asked detectives of my love life.
"so you did talk to her?'
"I think Aman will enjoy your non sense more than me"
He knew better than that.
Oh he is enjoying. Trust me.

He felt relieved, talking to her for hours, after a few days was definitely refreshing.
His relief didn't last long when he received a sudden phone call from an unknown number and was called to report immediately to the same caf.

I'm here with another update as I had said before 25th😆
I know it's a short update but I thought it was just the right amount for this specific chapter.
After reading the previous chapter some of you were confused about Arnav's financial status, for clarification I have posted a note on page 21
