"Thank you" She said politely collecting the papers, finally she was graduated

Turning she stared at the piece of paper in her hand, her transcript, she was really happy

"Arnav jee must be very happy to see it" She was walking towards the parking where Arnav asked her to wait for him when suddenly she halted in her tracks hearing her name

"Khushi" She turned to look at the person and was pleasantly surprised to see an old friend

"Rahul" She came to him

"What are you doing here?" She asked, last she remembered he's joined a medical college quitting architecture then what was he doing here

"Well I came to pick my sister, she studies here" He replied and his eyes went to her sindoor filled partition and he neck wearing munglsutra

"When did you get marry? Congratulations" He asked and wished her

"Thanks, I got married three years before when we were in second semester"

"May I know the name of lucky person?" He asked

"My cousin Arnav" She smiled as she replied but she could also see the confusion appearing on his face

"Arnav …. But wasn't …. Isn't he your brother?"

"That's a long story Rahul but to cut short, I was being adopted by his parents and we both got married actually in our childhood" She replied, her face falling as she remembered all those hard days of her life

"Do you have some time? I've to tell you something" Khushi looked at him confusedly as she nodded her head and they went to the nearby cafe

"So finally you are graduate now" Arnav smiled brightly as she handed him her transcript and Khushi just kept staring him

How many face he have?

How can he behave rude to her one moment and the next he was the most caring person?

She clearly knew how much he disliked her three years before but what Rahul told her, it left her stunned and mystified of his behavior

"Khushi your grades are really good, in fact I am feeling envious of you for getting better grades than me" His voice brought her out of her thoughts and she was puzzled if she should ask him about it or just forget it because it was past now

"A treat is due from my side, I just have some official work this week after that your treat wherever you say" He said igniting the car and feeling Khushi unusually silent he turned his face to her to find her staring him with numerous questions and once again not being able to look into her eyes he looked away and focused on the driving

Rest of the journey passed silently as Khushi once again remembered what Rahul told her

"What was it you want to tell me?" She asked after they had ordered coffee

"I don't know if …. If I should tell you or not …. I tried to tell you but then …. your number was switched off and …."

Khushi was now curious to know what's so important he want to tell her

"Three years before … your cous … I mean husband Arnav came to meet me" Now it was a shocker for her, Arnav met Rahul and it was not in the knowledge of anyone

"What?" The only word escaped her mouth

"Yes and …. He kind of give me the … the proposal ….. to ma …. to marry you" he stammered and Khushi felt her surroundings were went in background, the only voice she could hear was of now her breathing

"He … what …" She felt the words reverberating around her

"Yes …. He told me that umm … you …. You have liking towards me but then I denied him strongly pressing that we are just friends and I even suggested him to marry you but he said that he cannot because he was like a brother and also seven years elder to you"

"What?" Khushi was getting shock after shock listening to it

"I … I get surprised when I get to know that you got married to Arnav, that's why I as a friend thought that you have a right to know this thing" Rahul was saying oblivious to the gale going through her inner self

"T … Thanks" All she could manage to speak before getting up and leaving the place not bothering to hear about the voices of Rahul at her back who was telling her about something like their order has been arrived

After that day, Khushi several time thought of asking him about his meeting with Rahul, about Pari but then seeing him engrossed and overburdened with his official work, she never asked him. Maybe one day he himself tell her everything. She relaxed as she concluded to this point

Khushi smiled as she inhaled the fresh air and her hairs danced with the cool breeze

She was sitting in the lawn, when her smiling lips shrink hearing the voice

"Khushi"

Getting up she tried to escape but Shyam was quicker for her, he caught hold of her hand

"Jeeju just let me go" She tried to remove his hands but Shyam just pulled her to himself narrowing the distance between them

"No Khushi, not unless you know the truth about your beloved husband" For a moment Khushi forgot to struggle, Shyam smirked

"Or should I say the truth of your best friend Lavanya"

"Wh … what do you mean?" Khushi asked confusedly, Shyam left her hand as he knew now she will not move unless listening to him

"Truth, that your husband Arnav loves your best friend Lavanya since school days" Shyam threw the card

"What rubbish, they didn't know each other before and you're saying Arnav Ji loves Lavanya" Khushi was shocked for a moment but she did not want to mistrust Arnav without any proof

"And Lavanya loves Anuj a lot" she said to which he mockingly laugh

"They are fooling their partners, Arnav is fooling you and Lavanya is doing the same with Anuj"

"I don't believe you, in fact I cannot believe you ever, you are saying all this because you want to separate Arnav Ji and me but ……"

"No … no …. No ….." Shyam cut her, "Why would I separate both of you? I am just concerned for you, you don't believe me it's up to you. Lavanya was one year junior to Arnav, Arnav and Anuj were in the same class and they were best of friends but when Anuj confessed his love for Lavanya to Anuj, they broke their friendship, remember on the dinner how Anuj refuse to recognize Arnav" Shyam was bowing the seed and Khushi unintentionally connecting the things

Arnav's strong refusal to marry her

He hiding something in his cupboard's secret lock

He take wallet from her and then removed something, so it's Lavanya's picture

Lavanya secretly talking to someone on the phone even when Anuj came to reside with them

Was what Shyam saying is the truth? She was doubting both Arnav and Lavnaya and Shyam was succeeded in his plan

"If you don't believe me then call Lavanya and ask her" Smirking evilly Shyam left from there leaving a suspicious and worried Khushi

"Hello"

Khushi hardly controlled her tears hearing him

"Hello, Khushi" Arnav was sure it was her

As he called her name her crying geared

"Khushi are you Ok?" He became worried instantly after not getting any reply

"We need to talk" Finally she managed to speak, composing herself, not letting him know that she was crying

"Yeah I am listening"

"Not on the phone, can you come home now?"

Arnav looked over his watch, it was 6:00 pm, he was staying late for an important conference call but nothing is more important for him than Khushi

"Ok I'll be there soon but yo …" Before he could say any further the call has been disconnected from the other end

"I hope everything will be fine" He muttered, little he knew that nothing is right

He opened the door of room only to find Khushi kneeling down on the floor near recliner, her face buried in her knees and she was shaking slightly.

Arnav hurriedly moved to her side and placed his hand on her shoulder and he felt her stiffening from his touch

"Khushi are you al ….." Before he could finish she lifted her head from her knees and stared at her

She was crying, but why!

"Khushi what hap ….." Again his sentence left incomplete as she spoke

"Humain aap se kuch saawalon ke jawab chahiyain, aur humain sirf such sun'na hai" (I want some answers from you and I want the truth only)

Arnav didn't get a single word she said

"Khushi wha ….." Again she cut him

"Lavanya ko kab se jaante hain aap? (Since when you know Lavanya?)" Arnav looked shocked and surprised at her, and his changing face expressions were not get unnoticed by her

"Humain sirf such sun'na hai (I want only truth)" She spoke up as she saw him opening his mouth to say something

"Lavanya aap ke school ki friend hai (Lavanya is your friend from school)" Arnav could see the hurt written on her face and then he decided to end this facade

"Haan (Yes)" She was not surprised by his answer it was as she was expecting it

Khushi let out a mock laughter and getting up from the floor she laughed out loud, Arnav was confused at her reaction, he was afraid what if it affects her health

She was twirling, laughing loud as tears drenched her cheeks, it was then he caught hold of her causing her to stop and made her look at him, Still laughing through the moist eyes she wiped her tears

"Aaj humain pata chal gaya hai ke hum kitne barhe bewakoof hain (Today I realized what a big fool I am!)" She pried his hands off her shoulders and stepped back

"Jub hum ne kaha tha ke humain marr jana chahiye toh hum sahi the, kyun bachaaya aap ne humain? (When I wished for my death I was right, why did you save me?)"

"Khushi listen to me it's nothing like you ….." Arnav tried to explain but she once again interrupted her

"Nothing like you're thinking! Really Arnav Jee" She bore her hurtful gaze into his eyes but he chose to look away

"Aaj humain such mein afsos ho rha hai ke hum ne aap pe bhrosa kia, hum yeh soch bhi kaise sakte hain ke aap …. Aap joh hum se itni nafrat kerte hain aap hamari hifazat karein ge ….. humain Jeeju se bchaaien ge …. Arre aap ka bus chale aap toh khud humain kisi ki rakhail bna ….. (Today I truly regret that I ever trusted you, that I think you …. You who hate me so much … you'll protect me … you'll save me from Jeeju …. If you get chance you yourself would make me mistress of someone ….)"

"KHUSHI" Arnav raised his hand and only he knew how he had controlled himself from not slapping her hard for thinking so cheap … so low of herself

Next moment he brought his arms down again hanging to his side and he looked down to control his anger

"I CAN YELL TOO MR RAIZADA AND YOU CANNOT STOP ME" Khushi spoke loudly as she was not affected by his anger

"You cannot listen about your wife being with someone else, but it's right to keep an affair even after marriage, to the best friend of your wife" She mocked

"Why? Why are you bothered about it? Wasn't you the one who went to Rahul askinh him to marry me, so that you can get rid of me" She spoke hurtfully while tears were drenching her cheeks

After his raising his hand to her he didn't speak,

"I was not more than a bounded promise you made to Mumma, you love Lavanya, you wrote about it with the name of Pari so that no one can doubt you, you kept in touch with her even after knowing that she was married to Anuj, you broke your friendship with your best friend for her, you keep her picture in your wallet so that she can stay near to your heart and you're saying I am misunderstanding, am I look such a fool to you!" Khushi let out all her frustration while Arnav chose to keep quiet and it was irking Khushi

The person who never spare a chance to insult her now silently listening to her ranting,

"Do you have any answer to it?" Khushi grabbed his collar taking a step towards him but he didn't lifted his gaze from the floor

"I AM TALKING TO YOU MR ARNAV SINGH RAIZADA" She yelled shaking him slightly but he was standing just as a statue

Khushi leave his collar after not getting any answer from him and turned her face from him

"Aaj hum aap ko iss zabardasti ke waade aur bandhan se aazad kerte hain (Today I free you from this forced promise and marriage)" Closing her eyes only she knew how she let out these words when her heart died thousand deaths for saying it

"Aap joh cha ……" She heard the door clicking open and watched her moving out of the room and perhaps her life

Lavanya was calling Khushi but she was not picking her call, she was missing her so she decided to meet her and left for the Raizada mansion

She pressed the bell and the door was opened by the person she was least expecting to meet

Shyam grinned at her widely while she looked away and tried to move from side but he blocked her way

Lavanya shot an angry glare at him and gritted her teeth, "Move aside"

"Looking for your friend" He said as he watched her looking over the stairs

"Well at the moment she really needs you as she was mentally upset" Lavanya looked at him afraid

"What … did you do to her?"

"Nothing I just told her about you and Arnav, slightly mending the story" He smirked and Lavanya felt like murdering the person standing in front of her

"You're disgusting" Pushing him aside she almost ran to Khushi's room followed by his evil laughter at her back

"Khushi" Lavnya slammed the door open worriedly but sighed in relief finding Khushi taking something from cupboard

Khushi turned her face at her voice and Lavanya froze for a moment seeing her without the sindoor and her mangulsutra which she even did not parted from herself when Lavanya several time asked her to do so and move in her life

"Khushi you ….."

"Stop right there Lavanya" She said coldly but Lavanya moved to her as if she didn't heard her

"Khushi don't believe Shyam he is lying yo….." She tried to explain but Khushi cut her

"But Arnav Jee can't lie or should I say your Arnav cannot lie" Lavanya's face turned red with embarrassment at this accusation but more than herself at the moment she was concerned for Khushi

"Khushi what you are thinking is ………"

"Tumhaari Pari bhi tumhaare bina udaas hai, tum ne apni Pari ke saath bohat ghalat kiya (Your Pari is as sad as you are, You didn't do right to your Pari)" Lavanya's breath hitched for a moment, how did she know about Pari and she asked her

"Khushi how do you know about Par ……." Yet again Khushi didn't let her finish

"Kyun? Only you and your Arnav can be smart" She pressed your Arnav

"BUSS KHUSHI! STOP IT" Lavanya now lost it and as she saw Khushi opening her mouth to speak she stopped her

"You've said enough and I heard enough, now you better keep quiet and just listen to me" Khushi as though wasn't interested in listening anything, she was about to leave the room when Lavnaya caught hold of her hand and stopped her

"Today I am breaking my promise to Arnav, I hope he can forgive me for that but it is necessary to remove the blindfold from your eyes" Lavanya said and made her sit on the bed and she too sat near her

"Who mera Arnav nahi hai Khushi, who sirf tumhaara Arnav hai (He is not my Arnav Khushi, He is only your Arnav)" Khushi glared her in shock

"Arnav ne apni poori zindagi sirf aik larki se pyaar kia hai aur who larki tum ho Khushi (His whole life Arnav loved just one girl and that girl is you Khushi)" Khushi's heart throbbed in her chest as she shook her head in disbelief

"Uss ki Pari main nahi tum ho (You are his Pari not me)" Lavanya continued while Khushi was speechless as the statuette figure of Arnav flashed in front of her eyes

"Ar …nav …Jee" She murmured his name slowly as tears made their course to her cheeks
