Pride, pain and penance; these words kept ringing in my head when I read the story so far. It goes without saying it is well written and I am a sucker for such stories, I am waiting to coin a word to explain my brand of weirdness. I like fiction which is not stupidly divorced from reality and this is one of them. Not everyone is the same; I often put myself in a person's place to understand why they did or said something and I realize it does not work that. That makes people interesting and that makes good stories. There are a few points that I wanted to mention, having read the updates at a go -
** Khushi being more than a doormat and doing something with her strengths, I honestly felt she had many but alas nothing was displayed other than useless altruism. She drew on the residual self-respect she had and worked on doing something with her life, this I really like.
** Arnav was beyond logic at one point of time in the story and I like this take of yours, making him introspect and act on it. I am sure he too was aware he cared for Khushi, more than cared but was unable to deal with it. I really like the way you bring out the want for his wife in your story.
** Akash and Payal are no props here and that is a welcome change. The not so silent manner in which they support their siblings is what siblings usually do; show them the issue and help them deal with it not just preach too much. I do like the moral fibre they display in this story, it easy to ignore a person and even easier to ignore the things they do for you. The two here have not forgotten, the good and the bad their siblings did for their family; they want to correct the wrong that has happened in their lives and I am happy for that.
** Ved and Anjali, I am not a big fan of Anjali and you have added more to her character here but I need lots more to be appreciative of her. Ved seems a good guy; then again he is with Anjali; so he needs to earn my respect.
Rockbarbie recommended this story and I must thank her for it. I love the title by the way'''''
