Where ever they went, heads turned.

He was tall , dimpled and handsome.

She, Petite , smiling and gorgeous.

He held her fingers loosely within his.

She played with them playfully.

He looked down at her and smiled lovingly.

She looked up meeting his, with a twinkle in her eyes.

They were walking on the beach.

She could have asked for anything in the world, he would have laid it at her feet. But her request was "let's go for a walk on the beach" as the Birthday Gift.

They stopped. Their feet crunched the soft sand. The waves played with their toes

The ocean sounded like music.

He turned her towards him.

Grey eyes looked up at him. So much love in both.

"I love you" it came out simultaneously.

They smiled . She moved closer to him.

He held her tightly. There was no need of words.

They just stood there.

The birds, the clouds , the sea, the sand seemed to stand still along with them.

With a sigh, Adrit dragged himself back to the present, as the car came to a halt.

Meena ran the comb through her thick hair.

It had been cut to manageable length.

Wisps of it played around her cheeks.

She looked like a child.

The light pink Salwar Kameez was simple but she was loveliness personified even in it.

The eggs had been eaten quietly and the coffee sipped.

Meena wheeled her to the balcony.

Shyle smiled.

A drawing pad and pencil were placed on her lap.

The pencil she picked.

She drew.

The pencil strokes slowly filled the page with shimmering shades of ebbing and flowing ocean , grainy sand , swaying trees silky clouds.

She drew with love.

Each stroke made the picture almost alive.

The pencil seemed to have a life to its own now.

Then ...

It refused to move further.

She wanted to.. she wanted to draw someone...

She tried to draw the person who seemed to be just there in the shadows of her mind.

She could not.. her fingers stopped.. she could not make the strokes...

She put the pencil down and looked at the distant hills.

Please move from shadows..

Please.. her mind beseech-ed .
