Arnav looked at Khushi for a brief moment. Khushi shook her head. Arnav averted his gaze.

Nani: Tell me.. What is it?

Arnav: When I put the mangalsutra around Khushi's neck,I told her..

*FLASHBACK*
Arnav: All these things matter a lot to u. Right?This mangalsutra,the sindoor? So here goes the mangalsutra and(fills her parting) here goes the sindoor..
Khushi closes her eyes.
Arnav: Now u're my wife,but only for the world! And only for 6 months! I'll set u free after that! But till then u'll stay with me,in my houz,as my wife! Remember,this sindoor,this mangalsutra they're all part of the compromise! Niether will I ever consider u my wife nor will I ever give u the rights of a wife!

Arnav holds her arm & pulls her to the poolside.

Arnav: Understand this clearly-Outside this room,we'll act like a happily married couple!I know that u're a pro when it comes to acting! Inside this room,u're nothing for me! U mean nothing to me!(points to the bed)From today,my place is over there(points to the poolside)while urs is over there!

Khushi suddenly gets up & walks upto him.

She holds his hand & turns to speak to the family.

Khushi: That was the situation back then. But today we're indeed a happily married couple! and I can say this for sure today that I matter the most to him!.(turns to Arnav)Am I right,Arnavji?
Arnav: Ya!(squeezes her hand) U mean everything to me!

Khushi(turns towards family): I'm telling u-plz dont give so much importance to whatever happened in the past. Right now I'm very happy with my marriage & my husband! (with tears in her eyes)Now I cant stay away from him,my room & this house for even 1 moment!

Arnav: Khushi..

He wipes her tears with his thumb.

Khushi: Arnavji ,y dont u tell them what they need to know?

Nani: What is it?

Khushi(turns to nani): Whenever he troubled me,hurt me or said harsh things to me, he became upset! He not only inflicted pain on me,he also inflicted pain on himself! He would get worried even if I got a little hurt !

She tells them how Arnav immediately got up to help her when he felt that Khushi was choking due to her necklace.

Khushi: If I couldnt sleep that night at the poolside,then he couldnt sleep in the room either. When he saw that I was shivering,he gave me a blanket. But bcoz I was upset with him,I didnt use it that night.

Arnav: Khushi,I didnt giv u the blanket. I threw it towards u..
Khushi: But y did u throw it towards me?Coz u were concerned about me! Coz u didnt want me to fall sick! Right?

Arnav nods.

Khushi: Tell them how u would feel during those times..

Arnav: Khushi is right. I fulfilled my objective by getting married to her. But when I saw the ill treatment metted out to Khushi by both the families, I felt very sad for her. I didnt want to acknowledge this,but it was a fact! And it disturbed me a great deal to see her in tears..

Khushi: It was always hatred on the outside. But we've had only love for each other in r hearts,since the day we met!
Arnav: The next day wen Khushi tried to speak to ammaji,she cut the line. Mami didnt leave a single chance to taunt Khushi. Niether was Paayal talking properly to Khushi nor was di. All this affected me. I didnt really understand y it affected me so much? Y Khushi's tears pinched me? On one side,I wasnt able to tolerate Khushi's sorry state,on the other side Shyam & Khushi's hug & Shyam's words came to my mind. I was thinking about all this,sitting at the poolside when Khushi came there with her blanket & pillow. By mistake she knocked off the glass. I was anyways miffed with Khushi, Shyam,everyone else &.. my ownself. But that time,I took ot all of my frustration on Khushi..
*FLASHBACK*
Arnav: What the..!? Y do u keep following me everywhere?(yells)Go away! Just get outta here!

Khushi(throws blanket & pillow away): If u're finding it so difficult y did u marry me in the first place?That 1 mistake of urs has changed my life overnight! Its only bcoz of u that my amma is not willing to talk to me!She ended the call the moment.. she heard my voice. The jiji with whom I've grown up happily is not even able to glance at me. Anjaliji,naniji all r miffed with me & its all bcoz of u! Hence now I will do whatever I want to do! (yells)I'll cry if I feel like crying! I'll scream if I feel like screaming! And u cant stop me!

After a brief pause..

Khushi(softly): U must b happy naa? U must b enjoying the tortur I'm goin thru! Today I've lost each & every relation which was my life support! U must b havin fun naa? I became an orphan once more today. But u must hav got solace! What did u achieve by bringing me to this sad state? Tell me..

She is about to hit him when he grabs hold of her wrists.
When Khushi hisses,he leaves her wrists.

Arnav: Yes,I'm very happy! I'm rejoicing after seeing u in this sad state! In fact I did all this just to see u in trouble! Did u hear that?

He grabs hold of her shoulders.

Arnav: U know y?Y I want to see u suffering? (thru gritted teeth)Coz I hate u! (yells) bcoz I hate u!

He leaves her shoulders.

Arnav: For a moment I was in pain after seeing Khushi in tears. Thats y I turned my face away from her. Thats when Khushi said..
*FLASHBACK*
Khushi: I also hate u!(yells)I hate u much more than u hate! Coz u're not worth being loved by anyone, Mr. Raizada! I feel only hatred towards u,only hatred! Coz u're only worth being hated!

Khushi: Then I went away from there coz I saw something different in his eyes. I didnt want my love to weaken my resolve to hate him. Thats y I went away..

Nani: What did u see in Chhoteys eyes?

Khushi: I saw concern for myself in his eyes. And may b.. love. But after hearing his harsh words,I told myself that I was mistaken to think that Arnavji loves me! Now I know that i wasnt mistaken,it was love indeed!

Arnav: I may hav said all that Khushi but actually I was trying to tell myself that I need to hate Khushi & not care about her!

Nani: What happened next?

Arnav: On the morning of r Moonh dikhaai ceremony,I came to know that mami has seen Khushi's blanket on the poolside. And that she's doubt r relationship. When I came to the room to warn Khushi,I saw that.. she was wearing my shirt on her lehenga..

Buaji(shocked): What?!Y?

Khushi: Woh.. (embarassed)My blouse had got torn.. I had only 1 pair of clothes.. Since there was nothing else to war.. I wore his shirt & started sewing the blouse. But while rolling up his sleeve,I.. tore Arnavji's shirt,by mistake.

Arnav:I was about to yell at Khushi when I saw Mami spying on us thru the ko balcony,by using binoculars..

Nani(angry): Manorama,what is all this?

Mami: Oo a.. sasuma I..

Mamaji: I told u not to interfere,right Mannu? Then y did u..

Mami(interrupts): saaree!(sorry) I wasnt able to handle the.. suspenswa! I wanted to know what the blanketwa was doing next to the poolwa! To phind out about it, I.. spied on them using the binocularjj..

Khushi: And to show to mamiji that all was well,Arnavji started behaving very nicely with me. He sat me down & slipped a bangle down my wrist. He didnt even get angry after looking at his torn sleeve! But the moment mamiji went away,he.. became.. his usual self..
Nani: Then what happened?

Khushi: On my Pagphere ceremony,I made an excuse & left buaji's house..

Nani: Where did u go?

Khushi: To the temple..
Arnav: I came to know that Khushi has left buaji's house when Paayal called me up. I also came to know that Khushi had told them that I was coming to pick her up. I got scared & immediately went to look out for Khushi. I searched the length & breadth of Lakshminagar,but Khushi was not to b found! Then suddenly a thought came to my mind & I left for the temple. Luckily I found her over there. But when she saw me,she attempted to hide. I confronted her &.. brought her home against her wishes.

Khushi: Again we had a fight,during which Arnavji said something which left me shocked.

Nani: What did Chhotey say?
Khushi: First I asked him..
*FLASHBACK*
Khushi: What do u want from me?
Arnav(shows her mobile): This is known as a phone,Khushi Kumari Gupta! Next time I call u,u better answer it!And u dare not step out of the houz without informing me! I wont cum lookin madly for u every time!(throws phone on bed)Did u get it?

Khushi: No matter if I got it or not. There's 1 thing which u need to "get"-Next time u wont grab my hand like this! And niether will u talk to me like this ! Regarding the phone,Mr. Raizada,lemme tell u that I didnt answer the phone coz u were the 1 callin me! I didnt want to speak to u!
Niether did I want to come back to this houz!

Arnav steps towards her & Khushi steps backwards.

Arnav: I dont care what u think or what u dont think! All I want is that r family should not doubt us. Thats y we need to continue this drama!

Khushi: Y should I continue the drama?Y should everything always b according to ur liking? I want this,I want that,I,I,I! Did u ever think about what I would want from u? What about my feelings? Do u even know how much ur words & behaviour hurt me?

Arnav charges at her & grabs her shoulders.

Arnav(thru gritted teeth): What about the pain which u've inflicted upon me?

Khushi(shocked): What?

Arnav realizes what he said,leaves her shoulders & turns away.

Khushi: What hav I done which has made u so sad?When did I hurt u?Tell me!

Arnav tries to go but Khushi blocks his way.

Khushi: No! U cant just walk away without answering me this time! Since u've made sucha big accusation,u've gotta tell me how I inflicted pain upon u! Answer me!

Khushi: At that time, di came to r room & again Arnavji escaped without answering my questions. A thought came to my mind- what if Arnavji knows about me & Shyam?

Nani: So,did u ask Chhotey about it?

Buaji: Ae Nandkisore,I hope u didnt ask Syam if he's said anything to Arnav about this matter?

Before Khushi could answer their questions the bell rang.

Nani: HPji,plz answer the door...!

HP: Ji naniji.

I think i forgot to mention this till now but the fact that u made the family call khushi as choti,choti bitiya than khushiji or khushi bitiya got me a feeling that they are more close and affectionate
