He Was Surprised By Their Sudden Move For An Engagement But Then He Looked At Riya's Face….Her Face Appeared Totally Blank And Yes She Looked Confused As Well…But One Look Into Her Lowered Eyes, He Knew What He Had To Do…..He Had No More Questions In His Mind….He Knew What She Truly Wished For But Would Never Accept It Or Voice It Out….

He Had Heard Her Unspoken Heart In The Last Few Moments….Her Heart Beats Had Said It All….Now Her Eyes Confirmed Them As Well….

Without A Delay, He Took Her Finger In His Hands And Slipped The Ring Into It…..She Kept Looking At Him Completely Dazed And As If In A Trance…..

"kya??? Tum dono ne engagement kar li???" Sameer almost barked into the phone when Arjun gave him the news…..

Arjun smiled silently but his chief caught him "ab aise muskuraana chodo aur bathao"

Arjun: Rathod…itna excited kyun ho rahe ho??? We are coming back na? you will get to know everything….filhaal tum bas yeh news team ko deh dho…..aur Shree se ek chota sa get together plan karwaana…..main Riya ko ek pleasant surprise dena chahtha hoom…..

Rathod: haan haan of course…..humaare team ke taraf se tum dono ko ek grand welcome party tho dena hi chahiye….[grins] chupke se engagement jo kar li….ab bhaag ke shaadi bhi nahi kardena….warna…

Arjun: nahi…shaadi ko time lagega…..Riya ki divorce ke baadh hi sochenge…

Rathod nodded and then they went on to discuss some case details…..

Arjun cut the call and looked at the sleeping form of his Riya….yes, now he could rightfully call her that…..

They were at the airport and the flight was delayed by an hour…….He smiled seeing her weary face…she looked as if she hadn't slept for so many days now…..and yesterday's rocking engagement party had ended late as well…..and the early morning flight had given them very few hours of sleep….and literally no time to talk to each other……They hadn't talked to each other after the sudden engagement….

Yes, he had time…..they had time…..there was no hurry to speak……

Riya's family had come to drop them at the airport…….Only when they came to the check in area, did the announcement for the delay come up……

So they were struck in the waiting lounge….RIya dozed off tired while he decided to break the news to the team………

He walked back to the seat next to Riya and sat down, gently placing her head onto his shoulders without waking her up…..

She mumbled in her sleep "flight ka time hogaya??"

Arjun smiled seeing her innocent face and cute voice when she asked that "nahi…aur time hai..tum so jaao….I will call you when its time!"

Riya smiled in her sleep and got lost in some dreamy world….She couldn't deny the fact that she felt a unique peace and relief that day…..as if it was a fresh new day in her life….a new beginning with a new hope towards life and happiness….ofcourse…love did exist somewhere in her…..and it could only be him who could add that flavor to her dull lonely life! She felt that she was secure and safe there, so close to him…..she had always trusted him more than herself!

Though she wasn't happy about the engagement and the prospects of a new married life, she had to admit that a life with her Arjun was always something she dreamt for…..though those dreams and wishes lay buried deep down and lacked visibility now, it existed…it was there deep down within her…..

Arjun had managed to bring a little out and he was confident that the day was not far away when she whole heartedly accepts this new life with him!

Flight was announced and they board the flight…..

As the flight took off, she clutched his hands tightly and in the process hurting him with her nails…..He grinned "typical Riya….she hasn't stopped doing that even now!"

Past: He couldn't help remembering the previous time when she had done the same and earned a glare from him….It was long time ago but it still lingered in his memory……They had travelled to Goa for a case and she had hurt him badly digging into his upper palm…..He had turned to her side glaring only to find the sight totally amusing….she had tightly shut close her eyes and a silent prayer on her lips and so his glare went vain!

He let her hold him till the take off and then literally pushed her hands off him sarcastically commenting "yaad tho hai na ke tum ab ETF mein ho?"

She had nodded innocently and slightly melting his stone heart but then he didn't let it out to her……He looked away from her shaking his head as if in anger!

Present: he turned to her smiling and yes, today also, her eyes were shut tightly and her lips were muttering a prayer…..

He cupped her hand on his with his other hand protectively voicing out….."daro matth….kuch nahi hoga!"

She didn't open her eyes till the take off was over as if it was her prayer that sailed them through the take off safely….then she replied "jaanthi hoom….par phir bhi darr lagtha hai!"

He smiled while she looked towards the window…….the white clouds and the blue sky always enchanted her……she always felt that there was a magical fairy land in between the clouds and the queen of fairies lived there…And she felt that the plane journey was her chance to travel through that magical land……

In her childhood and even in her teenage years, she always believed that the queen fairy granted all her wishes……

She used to stand beneath the sky on starry nights wishing for things she wanted for herself……She used to believe that the stars were the sparkling kind eyes of the fairies who was looking at her and also safeguarding the world from evil…

As she grew up, her wishes also changed…if it was a chocolate or doll during her childhood, it was a wish for a crush or a date during teenage…..and it was a career wish during college….and she remembers the last wish she had asked for…….yes it was for him….She had initially wished for all happiness in his life…to take away all the pain from him…..and to make him smile again….

Then when she realized that she was in love with him, she had made a wish for getting his love! That was the last wish she had made to the queen fairy!

Today while looking at the clouds and skies, she couldn't help wonder if this was the only way that her wish could have been fulfilled…..Making her go through all those turmoils and tortures and at the end of all, there he was, deeply in love with her…..ready to do anything for her….and now he was rightfully hers too…..

She didn't know whether to thank the fairy for granting her wish or should she curse her ill luck for having wished that which had forced the fairy to change her destiny and rewriting it like this!

But then, may be it was meant to be like this…..may be this was her destiny too!

Her wandering thoughts were snapped by his voice, "are you fine Riya?"

He had been observing her from the time of take off…..the lines of worries had disappeared slowly but there was still some sorrow that lingered on her face and that worried him….

He gave a little space to her before enquiring that…..

She looked to his side hearing his question……

She nodded and replied "haan sir…..main teek hoom" and before he spoke up, she sensed what he would say now and replied "sir se Arjun tak thoda time lagega but I am trying hard….."

He nodded with a smile…she smiled back too….it was a genuine smile from her and there was a slight twinkle in her eyes too…..perhaps her queen fairy had done some magic on her! Afterall Riya was her most favorite daughter!

He was confident that the day would come soon…..and he could see her sincere efforts in her words….she was really trying hard to come around…All she needed was time!
