Chapter 12: Tum Mile Toh Duniya Mil Gayi
Her mom cut him short again "jo hogaya usse bathal nahi sakthe…..par kya tum iss galathi ko sudhaarna chahoge??"
Arjun was instant in his reply "yeah of course….i can do anything it takes to set things right in Riya's life"
Her mom instantly shot back "toh usse shaadi karlo…"
Riya was shocked beyond words and looked at her mom…..her mom wasn't looking at her but her face appeared stern and her voice had that determination too….

Arjun stood there deeply thinking about what Riya's mom voice out….he was more than happy for it but did Riya actually wish that…..He didn't want to take a decision alone….He had to talk to her and get her consent before saying anything to her parents…..
Before Arjun could speak anything, Riya spoke up "maa…aap aise kaise soch sakthe ho?? Arjun sir, mere boss hai aur accha friend bhi….yahaan guest bannke aaye hai aur aap log unne insult kar rahe ho…unne pareshaani mein kyun dhaal rahe ho??..[giving an angry look at her mom who stood stern in her stand] forget it….maine hi galathi ki yahaan aakhe……mujhe yahaan aana hi nahi chahiye tha…."
Arjun voiced out "Riya…"
Riya walks out of the room ignoring all of them…..
Arjun calls her "Riya rukho….ek minute suno…."
Before he follows her out, he turns to her mom and speaks up in a consoling tone "aap chinta matth kijiye Aunty….main usse baat karunga…usse samjhaavunga.."
Mom: [her stern expressions toned down and walks to Arjun….] Riya tumse bohat pyar karthi hai….maine yeh baat samajhne mein bohat dher kardhi thi….[letting a deep sigh and after a second's silence, she adds] par woh ziddhi hai….bohat dard hai usski dil mein….kabhi nahi maanegi ke usse ab bhi tumse pyar hai….
Arjun holds her hand in his and speaks up "I know that Aunty….par aap fikhar matth kariye….I will bring her out of that…..Riya zaroor apne ateeth se nikhal ke phir se jeene lagegi….trust me!
Her mom nods thanking him for that promise silently…..

Arjun assures her mom again and walks out in search of Riya….
Riya's sister had already got their luggages to be placed in 2 rooms…..And Riya is in her room…..she has already decided to leave from there…..and is just waiting for Arjun to come!
Riya's sister is with her sensing the problems that would have happened inside the room…..She is trying her best to convince and stop Riya from going but Riya is stubborn…..thats when Arjun walks in….
Ritu sees him coming and turns to him "Arjun ji, aap hi samjhaayiye didi ko….meri engagement hai na?? aise kaise chodh ke jaa sakthi hai???"
Arjun gestures to her that he will convince her didi….
Ritu smiles and then decides to leave them alone for a while….
She voices "mujhe ready hona hai…..abi aayi…"
Once alone, Arjun walks to Riya but before he could say anything, she speaks up "Sir, aap kya kehne waale hai, yeh mujhe patha hai…par main kabhi uss baat keliye haan nahi kehne waali…..so plzz!
Arjun tries to lighten the situation "arre waah Riya…tum mere kahe bina hi mere dil ki baat samajhne lage ho, huh?? Shaayad Rathod aur tumaari maa ke baatein sacch hi hai!"
Riya turns to him slightly taken aback by his unusually light response "kaisi baatein??"
Arjun: [grinning cheekily] kuch baatein hai….par filhaal woh sab chodo….tum apne behen ke engagement attend karne ke baare mein socho….aise ghussa karke yahaan se jaana accha nahi lagtha Riya…..usski khushi ke baare mein socho….Agar tum aise chali gayi toh kya woh khush rahegi…aaj uss keliye bohat khaas din hai na?? Yeh special din pe kya woh apni didi ke saath nahi chahegi??? Doesn't she deserve all the happiness Riya??? Aur ussko yeh khushi dena tumaari farz hai ….tum iss farz se peecha nahi hatt sakthi …
Riya couldn't help nod to all that he said…..He was right in every single word he spoke…..She had no choice but agree as it was her little sister's happiness that was most important to her…..
Riya spoke up after a deep breath.."Hmmm…engagement ke baadh yahaan se chalenge"
Arjun smiled and nodded silently…..As he walked out of the room, he stopped a bit and turned to her
"ek aur baat…..tumse shaadi karna mere liye pareshaani ki baat nahi hai Riya….aur yeh baat tum already jaanthi ho!"
Saying that he walked to the guest room leaving her in deep thoughts…..

Later that evening…..all guests arrive and the engagement is all set to happen….bride groom and his family also arrives…..
Riya and Ritu come down together looking like 2 gorgeous princesses….Though Riya was hesitant to dress up like that, Ritu made sure that her didi looked the best today…..Adorning a peach pink lehenga, she looked beautiful and Arjun spotted her the moment she stepped out….
He just couldn't control gazing at her beautiful form…it was a long long time that she had dressed up like that………She could feel his warm gaze on her and she also looked towards him….their eyes met for a long moment before she walked away to be near her sister…..
Rings were exchanged and all other formalities of the engagement followed duly…..
The just engaged couple sat down together and all guests began wishing and blessing them….Photos were being taken….
Riya's mom made sure that Arjun was called in for their family group photo……though he hesitated a bit, Riya's silence and then Ritu's sweet request made him join in…..
Once that was all done…it was time for some entertainment and dinner side by side…..Music was on and everybody joined in the fun and frolic…..
A karaoke session started off and Ritu's fianc took over the mike first……and started singing a romantic song for Ritu…….

Ritu blushed and smiled, giggled hearing him sing for her……Next Ritu carried on with her song for him….
"Aaye ho meri zindagi mein, tum bahaar banke
Mere dil mein yunhi rehna, tum pyar pyar bann ke
Ankhon mein tum base ho, sapne hazaar bann ke
Mere dil mein yunhi rahna, tum pyar pyar bann ke"
Through out the songs, Arjun wasn't taking his eyes off her….she could feel it and their frequent momentary and accidental eye locks weren't ceasing at all…..it was making it more than impossible for her not to look at him…..
As the circle of the karaoke proceeded, Ritu pestered Riya to sing but she didn't agree……then Ritu started forcing Arjun to sing a few lines…..Though he refused initially, he had to give eventually…..
And to Riya's surprise, he started singing and it was directed or rather dedicated to her and only her….

He kept looking at her throughout the song….his gaze following her wherever she went…All through her futile attempts to ignore his presence, his eyes, his song, his intense emotions never failed to reach her…or touch her deeply from within……
At the end of the song, oblivious to both, they stood facing each other….they didn't know how or when they had walked towards each other…..Nobody disturbed them…..perhaps they required that time where in both appeared lost in each other……
Long moments of silent mesmerizing magical eye lock continued……
Suddenly the beats change and the next song rolls….

As the first few lines rolled out, Riya snaps out and realizes that she was gazing at him …..she tries to walk away but he grabs her wrist……Just to make those moments last, Ritu and her fianc take the clue and join in and they call in their friends too and all form a circle and merrily dance around Arjun and Riya not giving a chance for Riya to walk out…….
Arjun smiles at Riya's hesitation to come closer as well as leave him and go away from him…..her dilemma was clear to him!
The song was having its magical effects as well on both of them…. ….She couldn't deny the fact that she had started smiling again…started living again only because of him…and his presence around her…..He was indeed her guardian angel! She couldn't deny the fact that all her sorrows seemed to fade away when he was with her….the whole world seemed to smile back at her when he smiled at her…and she felt coming back alive when he touched her….She couldn't deny anything……she couldn't deny, atleast to herself that she loved him more than anything else in this world….The suppressed love had to resurface some day!
She couldn't run away from him….wherever she went, wherever she hid herself, he would be there because, he resided within her….and she couldn't deny any of it!

But after a few seconds into the dance, she pulled away and stepped back from him….he didn't stop her this time……

In between the song, Riya's mom and dad came to them…..Riya's mom forced Riya to come closer too……She took out a ring and gave it to Arjun gesturing him to slip it into Riya's fingers…..
He was surprised by their sudden move for an engagement but then he looked at Riya's face….her face appeared totally blank and yes she looked confused as well…but one look into her lowered eyes, he knew what he had to do…..He had no more questions in his mind….he knew what she truly wished for but would never accept it or voice it out….
He had heard her unspoken heart in the last few moments….her heart beats had said it all….Now her eyes confirmed them as well….
Without a delay, he took her finger in his hands and slipped the ring into it…..She kept looking at him completely dazed and as if in a trance…..
The moment was truly out of the world…..
