Chapter 13:

Recap: Sharey's birthday.

Talking to her friends kept Sharon busy. Meanwhile, Lily went to Swayam. "Hello people!" she said to the guys standing with Swayam. "Hello, Lily. Man, you look hot!" One guy said. "Thanks, Derek. I know that. Make sure no one tells your girlfriend about this!" Lily said, and winked at him. "Burn!!" some other guy said, and the guys started laughing. Swayam was just smiling. "Mind if I borrow Swayam for a minute?" Lily asked. "Ofcourse not." The guys said. Lily took Swayam to a corner. "Hey..why did you bring me here?" Swayam asked. "Aren't you going to meet Sharon?" Lily asked. "Ummm…." Swayam was thinking of an excuse when Lily glared at him. "What?" he asked. "It's written on your face that your dying to meet her. Why aren't you meeting her? She's broken." Lily said. "I know…I don't want to hurt her. Again." Swayam said. "She's been talking about you to me from the time she came here. She doesn't know that I called you here. And why the hell did you go without meeting her in the morning? That was very rude of you. You made her cry on her birthday, you jerk!" Lily said. "Hey hey! Chill. Listen Lily, I really love her okay? I do. But I can't face her. I've explained this a million times. What do you want me to do?" Swayam asked, turning away from Lily. "What do you want me to do? You're asking me what you have to do! Well, YOU HAVE TO GO AND TALK TO SHARON!!!" Lily said. "Lily, what's wrong with you? You're never like this. Did you drink alcohol or something?" Swayam asked. "Swayam this isn't a joke. You're playing with my best friend's life. She's still not moved on. She is adamant. She doesn't want to get married to anyone other than you. Look what you've made her. You know that you're the only one she's ever loved. Then why the hell are you playing with her heart? Do you want me to go and tell her that you like someone else?" Lily asked. "Hey ,that is not even in the topic we're discussing. You know pretty well that I don't like anyone other than Sharon. Why would you go and tell her that I like someone?" Swayam asked. "Oh, so you don't want her to move on, you don't want to talk to her, you don't want to be in her life then WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS??? Stop messing with my best friend's life!!!!" Lily said. "Hey! Something's really wrong with you. You're talking irrelevant things!" Swayam said. "I do want to be with her." "Fine, something IS wrong with me. But you know what? My best friend doesn't deserve a guy like you. She deserves someone much better. I don't even know why I'm standing here and talking to you. GOOD. BYE!" Lily said, but before leaving she made Swayam look at Sharon. "But just look at her. She's searching for you. Can't you even see the smile she's faking? And that song, it doesn't mean a thing to you?" Lily asked. "Lils…" Swayam started, but someone came and called Lily. "Lilly!! Heyyy!! Nice party, babe!" the girl said. "Thanks Fiona! Enjoy the party!" Lily said. "Ofcourse. And who is this hottie standing next to you? Mind if I take him for a little while?" Fiona asked. Swayam looked at her like she was a ghost or something. What is up with all the girls today? Why are they acting weird? "Sorry, Fiona. He's mine. So you're not getting him sweetie!" Lily said, making an angry Fiona walk away. "I can't believe I just saved you from a bimbo." Lily said. "Yea. You sure did. I thought you weren't interested in talking to me." Swayam said. "I am not. Bye. But let me tell you Swayam Shekawat. You are doing the biggest mistake of your life by not being with Sharon." Lily said. "Lily, you know what, you're acting completely weird today. Like you're completely mental. So Bye." Swayam said, and walked back to his friends. Lily couldn't believe that this was the same Swayam Sharon had introduced to her years ago. She looked at Swayam and then at Sharon. The pain could be seen in both of their faces. She missed the happy Sharon, always smiling, holding Swayam's hand.

Sharon was running around here and there in her dorm room not allowing Lily to study. "Sharon!!!! Will you stop running around? I'm not able to study." Lily said. "You studied the same chapter last night. Just close the book. Besides, aren't you the least bit excited for Christmas and for Winter break?" Sharon asked. "You topper, don't say anything. And we have exams before Winter Break remember?" Lily said. "I know. But you are no less a topper. I'm your room mate remember?" Sharon said. "Ofcourse. Ms. Sharon, can you enlighten me as to why your so happy?" Lily asked. "My boyfriend's coming today to meet me." Sharon said. Lily got up from her desk. "WHAT?? Your serious??" Lily asked. "ofcourse. Why would I joke about such a thing?" Sharon asked. "You silly girl. You never told me he was coming today. You are introducing him to me." Lily said. "Ofcourse. You're the only person who knows about him and me." Sharon said. Sharon got a call from him. "Swayu, have you reached already? Wait I'll come down." Sharon said, hung up,pulled Lily with her and went downstairs from their dorm.

She saw Swayam standing there, ran to him and hugged him like she's hugging him for the last time.Swayam hugged her back tightly. "I missed you so much Swayam." Sharon said. "I missed you too Sharu!" Swayam said, still not breaking the hug. They stood there in that position for sometime. "Ehem..ehem…!" someone said. Suddenly, Swaron realized that there was someone standing next to them. "Oh…I almost forgot. Swayam, meet Lily, my best friend. And Lils, meet Swayam, my everything." Sharon said. "Hello Swayam. I'm really glad to meet you. She talks a lot about you." Lily said. "Nice to meet you too, Lily. Hope you've been taking care of my girl?" Swayam asked. "Haha! I guess. I don't have an answer for that." Lily said. Swayam and Sharon side-hugged each other. Sharon and Lily showed him around college. "Wow, this is awesome." Swayam said. "This is nothing. You haven't seen the best part. Come." Sharon said, pulling him to a room. "This is our Rehearsal Hall." Sharon said. "Wow. Wish I had a RH like this in my college. I'm so jealous!" Swayam said. "Haha, you better be." Sharon said, and kissed him on the cheek. "You have no idea how much I missed you!" Sharon said. "Don't worry Sharon. You're coming home for Winter Break. Then we'll be together everyday." Swayam said. "Yea, I'm waiting." Sharon said. "I hope you haven't been seeing any other girl, Swayam!" Sharon said, raising her eyebrows. "Sharon…!!!!!" Swayam said, and lifted her in his arms! "Swayam put me down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pleaseee!!!" Sharon said. After a lot of screaming and playing around, Swayam finally put her on the ground. "Don't you dare say that I would go out with some other girl. You are my girl and will always be!" Swayam said, and kissed Sharon. Lily was watching them from a distance. "They are sooo adorable. I hope their relationship lasts forever." Lily said…

Lily actually felt a tear roll down her cheeks. "Hey, why are you crying?" someone asked. She wiped it off. "Oh nothing. I was just thinking about college." Lily said. "Oh I see. But why are you thinking about college on your birthday. I never think about college these days." Preetha said. "that's because you were never interested to come to that college. You wanted to study in some other college, right? But I had a lot of fun in college. So anyway why aren't you talking to the others?" Lily asked. "Well, I came here to tell you that I am leaving. I gotta go. Bye!" Preetha said. "Bye. Thanks for coming." Lily said, and went out till the door and waved to Preetha. After sometime everyone left. Sharon was back at her own place, working because she had taken a day off on her birthday.

She didn't like this birthday that much. She usually loved her birthdays, hanging out with her family and everything but this year, it had given her a lot of pain. She didn't want to remember this birthday. Maybe because HE wasn't there. After doing her work, she slept as she had a long day tomorrow.

Next morning, Sharon woke up late so she rushed to work.She could go whenever she wanted, because it was her office. She told everyone what to do. But her employees loved working with her. They'd never met such a sweet boss. Sharon usually listened to everything they said, asked for ideas and she finalized designs only if the majority liked it. She got along well with everyone. But she liked being punctual.

After a week:

She started working really hard, telling everyone what to do and all. During her free time, Kria came to meet Sharon. "Hey Shar!" Kria said. "Hey, what's up?" Sharon asked. "Nothing, I came to meet you because it's a half day for us today." Kria said. "Oh cool. Tell me which design is better?" Sharon asked. "The blue one." Kria said. "Yes! I liked that one too." Sharon said. Soon Kria and Sharon started talking about stuff and started laughing and everything. "Hey guys! I'm here!!" Preetha said, coming inside Sharon's cabin. "Hey Preetha.." Kria and Sharon said, but in a very irritated tone. "Why did you stop talking? I just came to ask Sharon to design my wedding dress." Preetha said. "Oh. I see." Sharon said, and turned towards her computer. "Sharon, please you have to. It's my wedding. Your friend's wedding." Preetha said. After sometime, Sharon gave up. "Fine fine. I'll do it." She said. "Thankyou. You are the best friend ever." Preetha said, and hugged Sharon. Sharon just shrugged. "Both of you are coming for my engagement right, which is tomorrow?" Preetha asked. "Ofcourse we are." Kria said. The talk went on for long..

"Oh no! We're very late for her engagement ceremony. She's gonna kill us!" Kria said. "I know but drive slowly girl! Otherwise we won't even get there." Sharon said, shocked at how fast Kria was driving. "Slow down Kria!" she screamed. "Stop it. She's gonna eat our heads." Kria said. Finally they reached the venue. The house was decorated beautifully, with serial lights and everything. People were going in and out of the house. "The ceremony started at 6 and we're coming here at 8. Oh my god! She's not gonna spare us!" Sharon said. "Let's just hope for the best!" Kria said. Both of them looked beautiful, clad in their lehengas with matching jewellery. It was not very grand, not very simple either. It was perfect for the occasion. She took the small gifts they had bought for her and then went in.
