"I'. I will come. If there is no one else to defend your virtue, against the hordes of women that are after you." She teased him to lighten the mood that had become too heavy with sexual tension.
Swayam beamed happily and came even closer to her. "I was thinking of Alexandro's. It has Italian food. Do you like Italian food Sharon?"
"Yes I love it" Sharon said a little bit breathlessly. This time she retreated. She was afraid of what she might do this close to him. Her body wanted to get even closer to him. To lose itself in his embrace. She was already regretting accepting his invitation. She was obviously too weak to resist him. "Well if I want to be on time for dinner and have that relaxing bath you told me I will have to leave soon. Is there anything you want me to do before I leave?"
Her voice was breathy and low and images of her in a bathtub gloriously naked dressed only in bubbles filled Swayam's mind. He nearly winced at how fast got to those imagations. Unless he reined himself he would probably attack her by the time they serve them first course.
"No. Everything is fine here. You go and relax yourself. I will come by your house around six thirty ok? I will get your address from Kria. It is on your personnel file right?"
"Yes but there is no reason to bother Kria, I will write it down for you" She was too eager to give him herself her address and Swayam realized it was because she would not want people at the office to know that they were going out on dinner together. He promised himself that he would make her trust herself enough not to care what the others said. People were mean and enjoyed to gossip no matter how much hurt their gossip caused. Of course she should be careful but not stop living for that reason.
"All right so I will see you in a few hours" He told her while she was writing down her address. After that she saluted him and left. He picked up the telephone right away and ordered 25 red roses to be delivered at Sharon's place at six fifteen. He really wanted to see her face when she saw the flowers but he preferred not to make her feel awkward.
As soon as Sharon left Swayam's office she exhaled deeply. She had to leave quickly and do some seriously mental slapping on herself if she wanted to be ready to face Swayam again by six thirty. He was so handsome, that now that he had stopped being a jerk and was charming instead, she had no chance in resisting his advances. And it was clear that he was making a move on her. She was not nave enough not to recognize that. What she could not understand was what made him change his mind that quickly about her. Two days ago he was ready to eat her alive (in a bad way), and now his was all sweet and caring and he said good things to their clients about her. She wondered if his change was due to the fact that now he knew that she did not walk out on him the morning after the party, but because she had no recollection of the previous night. Simmi was right when she said last night that he tricked her to verify her story. He actually admitted it today and once again apologized. Could he be that nice as he seemed today? Could it be true that he was not drinking over another woman last night instead of a relative?
Those questions were rolling around her mind until she reached her place. She had left office in a daze, mechanically saying goodbye to her colleagues she met on her way out. She did not even remember what she responded to Kria, when she teased her that she was leaving at last earlier than everybody else. She opened her door and went straight to the bathroom. Started feeling the bathtub with hot water, took off her clothes and entered the tab. That was when she realized Simmi was at the door looking at her questioningly. She screeched from fear.
"Oh my god, are you trying to give me a heart attack? What are you doing sneak up at me like that?"
"Sneaking up at you? Girl, I was on your couch. You bypassed me not even looking at me even though I said hello, and you came straight here, gave me a great pip show by the way, and now you are telling me you never noticed me???"
"Of course I did not notice you. I was not expecting you either. God what are you doing here again? And did you have to come in and see me while I was undressing? Some privacy please!!!"
"I came after work here to wait for you. I am very tired because I did not sleep much last night. You know when we went home from the restaurant Nilesh called me and came over. As you can imagine we did not sleep much!!!" She said winking at Sharon
"I am very happy you got some last night but what does that have to do with you being at my place? Shouldn't you be at your place sleeping or preparing yourself for more marathons with Nil?"
"My my you are grumpy today' And miss on what happened today at the office no way!!!! That is why I came here right away. In case I fell asleep you would wake me to tell me everything." She grinned.
"My god you are insufferable"
"Ya ya I know. By the way aren't you a little bit early today? And what happened to make you come in here in such a daze straight to the bathtub?"
Sharon blushed and went even deeper in the bathtub. "We had a difficult day with a lot of appointments and after the last one Swayam told to come home and relax."
"That was sweet of him." Simmi said suspiciously
"Yes well I did go half an hour early again today so you can say I earned it"
"Hmh' I don't buy it but keep going' How was your handsome boss today? Did he look like a zombie from too much booze in his system? Did he sent you away in order to go and sleep it off?"
"No actually he looked pretty good considering. The only thing revealing of his wrongdoings last night was that he drunk too many coffees."
"Naaah you are biased. I am sure he looked bad. But he is perfect in your eyes!!!" She made fan of her and she blushed even more. "So did he tell you anything about yesterday? Did you tell him we saw him drunk?"
"Of course I did not tell him such a thing. Are you crazy? I want to keep my job thanks you very much."
"Ok, ok! But how was he today? All business and no pleasure? Did he mention anything else from your night together?"
"No he did not say a thing. He was very professional towards me but in a nice way. As of we were equal colleagues. He praised me to our clients and we actually made a great team. All in all it was a very productive day today."
"Mmm. I was expecting more fire today' mmm'. Ok' I am tired and maybe Nil will come back later so I need to rest for a while. I am going to order us some pizza that is delivered quickly. Do you have any preference on what you want on it?"
"Ehmmm I actually have plans for dinner tonight."
"Really? With whom? The girls from the office? And why am I not invited? I feel crushed." Simmi tried to be as dramatic as possible.
"No it is not the girls from the office. Swayam had to tell an infuriating client that kept throwing herself at him that he had plans with me tonight, and now I have to go out with him to make the story legit." Simmi's jaw dropped and her eyes popped out.
"You have a date with Swayam?"she shouted and sharon winced
"I don't have a date. I told you it is a business dinner for making the story he made up legit."
"Ya right' will this client be with you on dinner?"
"Nooo" she whispered
"So he invited you to go to dinner on the off chance you might meet a client he lied to?"
"Yes"
"Oh now I get it. You have to go out to dinner tonight because there are only three to four hundred restaurants in town and that client is going to go through all of them to check if you are actually dining with your boss." Simmi said smirking at Sharon.
"The way you are presenting it, it seems ridiculous but you weren't there when she kept throwing herself shamelessly in front of me to him. I could not leave him with her. She is a man eater"
"Yes he really seemed defenseless last night." Simmi said sarcastically
"I don't care what you say" Sharon's anxiety levels were going up again when she thought of her upcoming diner with Swayam. "Can I have some privacy now? I want to get of the bathtub, unless you did not get enough of naked me."
"No thanks I got enough for a life time, thanks you. I'll be waiting in your living room."
"You do have your own apartment you know"
"And miss him coming to get you. He is coming right?"
For a minute Sharon contemplating lying to her and telling her that she was going to meet him at the restaurant, but she knew her too well. She was capable of camping outside her door just to make sure she was telling the truth. "Yes he is coming. Now could you leave please I need to get ready"
"Oh oh I am going to your room to pick what you will wear."
"I can do that by myself you know, I am a big girl."
"No way I am leaving you choose by yourself. You will probably go dressed like a nun."
"And if you choose I will probably look like s**t."
"As if you own something s**tty." Simmi said and left the bathroom.
A few minutes later Sharon entered her room and saw what she had chosen for her. There was no way she was going to wear that and after some quarrelling they got down to a black elegant but also sexy dress Sharon had not worn for ages. Simmi retreated to the kitchen to make a sandwich to eat and leave Sharon prepare herself. At six fifteen Sharon was still in her room when the doorbell rang. Sharon shouted at her to open the door because she was not ready yet. So Simmi was the one who received the flowers. As soon as the delivery guy left she took the flowers to Sharon's room.
"Is he here? He is early" Sharon whispered thinking Swayam was waiting in her living room.
"Nope this came for you" Simmi gave her the flowers. Sharon looked at them startled.
"Who sent them" She asked
"Well Swayam of course. His name is in the card"
"You read the card?"
"For your own protection. What if they were sprayed with some lethal drag? I am willing to give my life for you"
"Yes I am sure"
"So business dinner right right. I always get flowers from my boss."
"Simmi please don't make me more nervous than I am." Sharon whined
"I am sorry baby girl I am just trying to pinpoint to you that he obvious likes you"
"But he is my boss, I can't risk my job by having an affair with him."
"Look you said he complimented you in front of your clients right? So he intends to keep you. Professionally and personally, if you ask me. I just hope that he is a decent guy, because you deserve no less."
"I am not sure if I am ready to embark on a new relationship Simmi"
"Yes but what if this is the one. The man you are meant to be with. Don't you think you should at least give him a chance?"
"Maybe we are overreacting and he is just grateful for all the work I have done for him. I will just let this evening roll out and decide thing on the way."
"Ok just promise me you are going to try to have fun tonight."
Sharon smiled. Simmi was an eternal romantic even though she put on a hard face for the rest of the world to see.
"Ok I promise"
The doorbell rang again. "Well that must be Swayam are you ready?"
'Yes I only have to put on my shoes."
She quickly put them on and run to the door to open it before Simmi got the chance.
"Hello. Did I get the wrong apartment?"
