Love You Foreverrrrrr………Part 7
RECAP: Raj promises Saira that he'll come to take her Mumbai soon. Seher attends the meeting at St. Stephens but ignores Raj all through.
As the session got over, Seher declared, "I thoroughly appreciate your dedication and efforts towards this institution and no doubt that it is one of the most successful. This school deserves all those funds and I assure you all in its favourable future. Thank-you."
Seher looked at Raj and could clearly sense his feelings. After-all, love is not literally blind!!!!!!!!!!!
Everyone stood up and Raj rushed out of the board-room. Seher's face reflected the same discomfort which Raj faced.
"Mam; any problem?" asked Niharika.
"No nothing!" Seher made an unsuccessful try to hide her feelings.
"But mam………"
"I said naa, NOTHING!!!" saying this she went out.
Niharika preferred to stay quite after such a reaction from Seher.
Outside, Raj was pacing down the corridor, without realizing that he had reached the stairs. Just then Srishti came running from behind and held him just when he was about to fall.
"What are you doing Mr. Malhotra?" asked Srishti in a loud tone. Raj came to his senses and saw where he was about to go. Seher too had come outside.
"If I wouldn't have seen you then?"
"Then I would have fallen down! Anyways thanks." Said Raj.
"Are you all right?"
"I'm perfectly fine."
"But you don't seem to be!"
"Ms. Gupta I'm…… (just then he saw Seher standing and listening to their talk)……I need to leave for a class" and he went down. Srishti turned behind and saw Seher standing there. By this time she had well understood that something was wrong between these two but it was difficult for her to relate them. She was in her thoughts when Seher came up to her.
"You presentation was really nice."
"Thanks, but it was a combined effort! Mr. Malhotra deserves equal credit."
Seher just passed a fake smile.
"Ms. Singhania, if you don't mind, can I ask you something?" asked Srishti. Seher could see the curiosity on her face and said, "I'm sorry Ms. Gupta but I'm getting late! Hope you understand." Saying this Seher left the place and so did Niharika. As they reached the parking lot, Seher saw Raj standing there. Raj too saw Seher and kept looking at her, so did Seher.
Since Niharika had to leave directly for office, she left in an auto rickshaw, so Seher was alone there. Still looking at Raj, she walked upto his car.
"How are you?"
"Alive!! And I know that it only would have added to your miseries."
"Why do you think like that?"
"I don't know; and I don't care!!" Saying this Raj left the place. Seher was really hurt by Raj's words. But she had invited his hatred to her destiny herself by betraying him at the time he needed her the most.
As Raj was pacing up the stairs, he met Srishti on the way……
"Mr. Malhotra?? Where were you? You have a lecture in XII-C naa?"
"Yes; I know!!"
"But you don't know that the class is in worst of its noises. Mr. Bhasin is on round and before he reaches out to your class and finds it devoid of a teacher, you must leave!!"
"Thanks Ms……"
"You can call me Srishti, Mr. Malhotra!"
"Raj"
Srishti just smiles and does a gesture showing him the way up!
Seher is still standing there with wet eyes. She can neither react to what happened, nor can she express out her feelings to Raj. Raj too had Seher on his mind every passing moment. Each heartbeat of his revived her memories and each breath of her revoked his nostalgia.
Raj somehow managed to control himself and reached the class-room. "Class!!! Quiet!!! Is this a classroom or a fish-market?"
The class replied in chorus, "Sorry sir!!"
"It's ok, now shall I begin with the lecture?"
"Sure sir!"
Raj attended the period half-heartedly and left.
In the class, "Neha (Surveen Chawla)! I guess something was wrong with Raj sir today. He was so lively in his first class but today, a bit too depressed."
"Come on Su (Sunaina Samarth a.k.a. Amruta Khanvilkar) May be some personal problem of his!! What do you have to do with that??? Now please get down to revising Physics as next is Mr. Sinha's period and he will scare the hell out of us if we won't answer him!!"
"Ya right, but I was saying that………"
"Su, Sid is at the door for you."
"I'll just be back!"
She goes to the door to meet Sid but just them Pratham comes there.
"I think you don't remember anymore Sunaina that my class has begun!!!" Said Pratham in his usual angry tone.
"Sir I just came to…………………"
"No arguments! Back to your place. And you young man, meet me after this class at the staff-room."
"But sir!!" said Siddharth confusingly.
"I said, no arguments………"
"But he isn't arguing Mr. Sinha." Said Raj who was passing by in the corridor and had heard their conversation.
"Your opinion has not been invited."
"But it is not right to behave in this manner with the students!"
"I have been teaching here for the past 4 years and you who have joined yesterday are trying to interfere in my interaction with students??"
"Because I feel that your behaviour wasn't right!!"
"Do you know that you are talking to the best teacher around?"
"Ask the students!!"
"What???" Pratham was taken aback by his words!!
"Out of 40 students present here, if anyone of them stands for you, I'll shut my mouth and leave!!!"
Raj challenged Pratham in a way. Pratham didn't know what to do! Even Siddharth was looking at Raj Sir with astonishment.
"What happened Mr. Sinha? What brought you to your sweats? Shall I do the honor?"
Pratham was still quiet!!
"Ok! So how many of you say that Mr. Sinha is the best teacher of this institution?" Saying this Raj indicated to everyone with his eyes to stand up but no one does.
"Students! I asked how many of you say that Mr. Sinha is the best teacher of your school?" He again indicated and this time, Sunaina and her friends stood-up, followed by the rest of the class. "We are there for you sir" Said the class, so did Siddharth.
"I'm really sorry Mr. Sinha. Now I know and I'll take care in future of the fact that you are the best teacher around while talking to you, I'm really sorry."
Saying this Raj left with a wicked smile. Pratham was damn surprised that everyone supported him. It was obviously not expected. He was so confused that he came inside the class, stood there quietly for sometime and then left without giving the lecture!!!
"Raj Sir is unbelieveable!! I thought he would teach Pratham Sir a lesson but he made us stand in his favour??? And Su!! Why did you stand up???" Said Neha disappointedly.
"Because I understood what Raj Sir had on his mind!!" Replied Sunaina.
"I think he has no mind."
"Shut-Up!!! Didn't you see Pratham Sir after that? I guess he'd be better-tempered now, all thanks to Raj Sir."
"But…"
"Neha! Enough……its recess, let's hit the canteen…"
"Yippppeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Raj was sitting in the staff-room working out some chemistry problem when Srishti arrives. She sees him working, makes a face and moves foreward without disturbing him. Just then a lady in a pink chiffon sari enters the staff-room!!
"Hello everyone! Namaste Prashant Sir (Mohnish Behl the Hindi teacher)"
Everyone turns back including Raj.
"Geeta; you know naa that you are late?" Said Srishti.
"I know but……" explained Geeta, the English teacher (Aparna Tilak a.k.a. Dr. Shalini of LRL)
"Leave it! Let's have lunch." Invited Srishti.
She joins Srishti for lunch.
"Mr. Malhotra!" Called out Srishti.
"Yes…" Raj replied with his eyes and mind sill glued to the notebook.
"You like having lunch on odd times?"
"Who told you?"
"Your actions!"
"What?"
"Don't you know its recess? Come on; leave your work and join us!"
"Just a minute."
Just then Prashant Sir closed his notebook and offered him to share his lunch.
"Prashant Sir, not fair! We too deserve your bhindi…" Said Geeta.
"Have naa!!"
"Where is Mr. Sinha?"
"Uff!! Why spoil the whole mood using his name?" Srishti made a face.
"Srishti please!! I have told you hundred times that……"
"Ok ok……by the way, (pointing towards Raj) you did something today naa?"
"Did what?" asked Geeta.
"Just made Pratham realize his own weakness in a superb way." Replied Prashant Sir.
Raj bowed his head a bit and Prashant Sir held his shoulder in proud.
"I don't believe anyone could rectify Mr. Sinha of his flaws. I pity his wife!!" Said Srishti.
"We are no one to pity somebody." Saying this Raj stood up and while walking upto the window said, "Mr. Sinha may be having his personal problems which are too personal to be shared. What I asked him today took him by surprise, have you ever wondered why? Maybe because he isn't used to that! Maybe because no one ever showed even this little interest in his life to ask him how he feels!"
Everyone was listening to him in complete silence, Geeta stood up.
Raj continued, "The fear of getting rejected or neglected was clear as glass when I questioned the students about his connectivity. I would have felt really happy if even one of the students would have stood-up by itself……"
"But his attitude is just too much!!!" Grumbled Srishti.
"And its we who can make it better, maybe by creating a better environment for him, right?" Added Geeta.
"Absolutely right!!" Saying this Raj turned just to find Pratham standing at the door who just now heard that none of the students stood-up in his support by itself. He was just about to walk back when Raj stopped him, "Please listen to me! I had no intention to hurt you."
Pratham turned and kept staring at Raj. Srishti was down to nail-biting and Prashant Sir too was at the edge of his seat.
"Then what do you wanna prove by making the students stand in my support?" Questioned Pratham.
"Just that you deserve their support and by little effort you can get it." Raj tried to explain. "Life is a precious gift, not for those who have ever fallen into this world by mistake!!!"
Hearing this very comment of Raj at the current damn serious situation, Geeta, Srishti and Prashant Sir burst out laughing. Raj realized what he just said but controlled his laughter till the time he saw Pratham Sinha, yes, Pratham Sinha smiling.
Everyone was happy as well as surprised seeing the sudden change in him. Before anything could go wrong, Raj put his hand foreward, "Friends?"
Pratham shook hands with him without any hesitation!!!
Just then someone's cell rang. Srishti opened her bag but the smile, due to this too good to be true moment, was still there on her face.
"Hello!!"
"What?? But Kaka………you be there I'm just coming." Her smile drowned somewhere in her tears and she ran out of the staff-room in hurry!!!
"Ms. Gupta……" Raj tried to ask her the reason but she left without giving anyone a chance. Worry had even overpowered Geeta's face and Pratham too wondered what could have been the reason. Geeta was about to follow her when Prashant Sir stopped her by reminding the need of Mr. Bhasin's permission before leaving the school. Everyone could do nothing but to follow the school time table, but Raj took Srishti's address from her class register and secretly left.
PRECAP: "Doctor! How's Rohan?" Asked Srishti in a hesitating tone. "He needs best of the treatment mam, and for that……I mean we can't do anything without the money." Replied the doctor. This statement came just to add to her worries, "How much is required?" Srishti's heart skipped the beat because she knew the answer would be beyond her reach!!!
