When you are a single mother, the child's responsibility is yours, and as a single parent you try everything possible to make your kid not feel the loss of the other parent.

Now when it comes to Aarav and Sheetal.

It's obvious that the relationship between Arnav and Sheetal was not love. It was just a fling, it was nothing.
So the decision of Sheetal's to not tell Arnav remains to be hers - you cannot judge her because you have no idea what she may have been thinking, or going through while making that decision.

While I admit, that the upbringing and the decisions of a child fall upon both the mother and the father, I am mindful of the fact that something as controversial as hiding the truth from the father (without knowing the reasons) is something I am not going to become too judgemental on.

Now when it comes to this OS, Khushi goes to Arnav because her son wants to meet the father. It is his right, it is something that he wants, and as a mother, she feels obligated to fulfil that wish of his. Why should she be blamed for wanting her son to meet the father?
Sure it may be after 8 years, it could have ben after 20 years - but a son meeting the father, you cannot put a time-limit to it saying "Oh, sorry you're too late now"

Sure, as the time goes by, more questions arise as to why it was not done earlier, why did it take so much time - however to put the entire blame of this delay on the single mother who has struggled to bring up a child, give it everything she could give him, and then find the courage and strength to face the father of her child, is wrong in my opinion.

So she takes him there, and tells Arnav that Aarav is the kid.
I am not blaming Arnav with how he reacted, because it is a shocking news - however he could have been more sensitive to Khushi by not blatantly saying that he is not going to accept the child just because it hinders with his relationship with his wife.

Khushi's decision at the end to not tell her son about the father - is again something I can understand, because which child wants to know that their son does not want to accept him? Which child wants to know that they are unwanted? Which child wants to know that they were an accident, something not planned, something not wished for? which child?

Once again, Khushi makes that difficult decision to leave with her son - and this time knowing the answer to that 'what if' that plagued her mind.

There are three people directly affected by this situation, and one indirectly.

Aarav, Sheetal and Arnav are directly going to be affected by whatever decision Arnav takes - and Khushi is going to be indirectly affected as she is the wife of Arnav.

Just because Khushi may be hurt in this entire process, does not mean that Sheetal and Aarav are going to hurt any lesser.
Especially Aarav, who is completely innocent in all of this, who is just a child!

I like your wee post on many levels...but key being the non judgemental...and even with the background story who are we...as truth is always different from evey angle...and every perception...

THe other point being...this is going to effect all involved...and that is karmic crossing is it not...when Kushi and Arnav met whay back when...they left a mark on each other...this mark was to a degree that they shared a life...but were not in the "ideal" of making it a family for many reason...and then so on and so forth in the chain reaction...of what will finish as how Arav will take his life...(trust me children from 2parent families...and the "ideal" upbringing end up in therapy for different reasons...its not a given that aarav has to go down that train...after all he might be the son who understands his mom and why she did what...and turn out to be that himan many woman want to be with...)

yes choices are made consequences are suffered and enjoyed some choices not of our making...some made for us...so made in a tight corner..some by mistake and some by fluke work out well...

whose to say which is the right path...
and coming back to your Key point...the least we can be is non judgemental...for till life ends we all live in the proverbial glass house...and throwing stones is not that wise...we may think this is the ideal way we would do something...but till it dawns on our door we will never know...

liked how you interchanged the positions of the two ladies in the show.. great insight into Khushi being a single mother... its very hard... but loved that she is strong to handle it well enough..

I like your perspective.. i agree that even though as a parent you may decide whatever which you feel is right at the time.. there is no timeline on when a child of such a situation can or should be told who the father is.

i agree the idea is we can't just in a very black and white way.. there are always wrongs and rights on both sides. everybody hurts in the end but the important thing is we cannot judge without knowing

Cannot judge without knowing! Perfect summary of everything this show and this forum has seen in IPK's journey!

Actually, perfect summary of life!

About the show:

I still dont see the big hoohah over a past relationship affecting a current one? Unless there are undercurrents and sexual attraction, But that hasnt been displayed in the show.

Arnav hasnt betrayed Khushi and Khushi isnt a dukhyari whos being overshadowed by Sheetal. In this situation youd want maturity and Arav should be the priority. No child deserves to be abandoned by its parent.

Yes in an ideal world IF Arnav is Aravs father then he should have been involved from day 1. Thats Sheetals mistake and its something both her son and his father will have to forgive her for. But Khushi isnt going to be the evil step mother... shes a loving character who I think will probably accept Arav well before Arnav gets over the bombshell.

Ive seen it happen in real life. Not all sauteli maas are the devil incarnate, not all exes are trying to sabotage current relationships. It all mounts to how strong your relation is and if youre mature enough to love and welcome an innocent into the family. At the end of the day all children need a stable and loving environment. THAT should be everyones priority methinks.

Funny how just interchanging names can change people's attitudes about a situation. It's always Sheetal between Arnav and Khushi, whether she is the wife or the ex-girlfriend :). I have not watched the show since Sheetal's arrival and do not know what they are trying to show but I am sure Arnav's reaction to the information in the show would not be this horrible. He needs to own the responsibility of his child and share the information with his wife. Being responsible for a child does not mean he has to marry the mother. Even people who get divorced handle their children.

What I meant by knowing is only the people in the situation will know. In this OS Khushi and Arnav and and they will only know what was right and what was not and what's changed . other people cant judge coz they do not "live" that situation. Only the mother father and child go through it. Only they know and they ultimately decide what's right. Without knowing any of this who the hell are to judge. It's very easy to be a pundit / saint when you are a spectator.

My previous comment didn't come out right as I typed in a hurry.

Haven't watched the serial for quite a long time,so I don't know what is really

going in the show...But I got the point.
You have so cleverly tried to set forth your point.
I respect your Khushi...or Sheetal(of the show)
