Maanvi arrived hospital right in time. She went to the the reception.
'Hi mera naam maanvi chaudhry hai aaj Dr.Mehra se mera appointment hai aur yeh rahi meri file'
'Hi ji toh aap hain maanvi ji nice to meet you welcome ji welcome to the sanjeevani hospital ji aur chaddo ji yeh file wile yeh bhi koi dekhne ki cheez hai jee dekhna hai toh mujhe dekho waise myself sweety ji is hospital ki head nurse ji.'
She shook hands with her. Maanvi was not expecting anything in the hospital but she being maanvi was enjoying this also.
'Char,paach,che,saath yeh sweety ji kitni baar ji bolti hai lagta hai subah iss ne ji ki poori bottle pe li thi woh bhi dakar mare' Maanvi was saying this under her breath.
'Ji aap ne kuch kaha ji '
'Lo is ki train toh phir shoru hogai' 'Are nahi re sweety ji mein toh bus soch rahi thi keh aap jaisi pyaari, khoobsurat, dubli patli, gulab ki sorat jaisi aise kaise nurse ban gai aap ko toh student of the year mein alia bhatt ka role karna chahiye tha log aap ko dekhte hi behosh ho jate'
'Thanks ji thanks waise mein ne na woh film dus baar dekhi hai aur us mein woh donoon munde kitne sone hai na ji'
'Haan ji bahut sone hai kuch kaam ki baat karein'
'Toh ji hum abhi kya kar rahe the aap bhi na kitni mazaya ho' She gave a slight nugde to maanvi which actually was a little earthquake for maanvi. 'Mujhe doctor se milna hai'
'Doctor se milne ka kya faida woh jab bhi free ho gi mein free hu na ji aap mujhse baatein kijiye na ji'
Maanvi glared at her.
'Acha ji mein abhi phone karke pata karti hu ji' She picked the reciever and dialed the extension of his room. She then disconnected the phone and faced towards maanvi.
'Ji woh doctor ji na thode busy hai na toh aap na bus paanch minute wait kijiye ji phir aap unse mil lejiye ga ji'
She turned to move back when she remembered something and turned back again.
'Sweety ji'
'Ji maanvi ji boliye'
'Mujhe na mere ghar ke number pe hospital se call aaya tha toh woh aap ne kiya tha kya?'
'Ji mein toh aap ko phone nahi kya tha aap ko us ka naam yaad hai'
Maanvi thinking 'Us ne apna naam toh bataya hi nahi tha bus itna kaha tha keh is baar time pe ajao'
'Phir toh ji aap us se pehle mili hongi na ji'
Maanvi nodded in no.
'Mein sochti hu keh aapko kon phone kar sakta hai ji. Waise ji aapko us ki awaz ya bolne ka andaaz toh yaad hogana ji'
'Haan woh bahut soft-speaken thi bahut araam se baat ki magar thodi akro types lag rahi thi'
'Aisi akro aur araam se baat karni wali toh ek hi hai is hospital mein'
'Woh kon hai?'
'Ji Dr.keerthi interns ki head hain bahut guse wali hai bilkul gabar singh ki tarah'
'Oh waise mere ghar mein bhi ek daadaji hain woh bilkul mogambo ki ulad lagte hain' She and sweety started laughing.Phone beeped. Sweety picked it and told maanvi to go to the doctor's cabin. She excused herself but before going she said.
'Sweety ji aap na gabar mera matlab hai Dr. keerthi se keh dijiye ga keh mujhe na mere mobile pe hi phone karein ghar pe na karein problem ho sakti hai na ji'
'Ji mein samajh gai mein bol dongi'
Maanvi was feeling quite nervous. She was feeling like she was getting her result after dreadful exams. She knocked on the door and entered the cabin.
'Hi doctor'
'Hi maanvi betho'
'Doctor uncle mein ne aapne jo tests kahe the woh mein ne karwa liay hain yeh rahi unki reports' She handed it to him. He started to read it.
'Mujhe pehli hi bahut tension horahi thi ek toh di se jhoot bol kar aai hu aur agar phir reports mein masla hua toh aap mera khoon phir nikal le ge'
He was not responsing to her at all. Creases started to appear on his forehead.
'Waise mujhe pata hai mujhe sirf viral fever hua hai magar phir bhi confirm karne ke liay yeh reports aap ke pass le aai kyunke is ki bhasha na kisi alein ki alag rahi thi aur aap ko pata hai na mein insaan hu aur insanoon ko unki bhasha samajh mein nahi aati' She continued blabbering but doctor was not listening to her.
'Maanvi'
'Phir koi masla hai kya?'
'Haan maanvi bahut bara masla' He said with a low but stiff tone.
Maanvi knew that there was some big problem but she ignored all thses thoughts and remained positive.
'Nahi doctor ab mein wapis se apna khoon nahi dongi pichli baar bahut dard hua tha ab nahi please' She joined her hands dramatically infront of him.
Dr.mehra thought how can this happen to a girl like maanvi who is full of life, who knows how to bring smile on any face in any situation. How can this happen this is not possible?
He checked the report for fifth time but still same answer.
'Doctor kya yeh reports poori galat hain?'
'Nahi maanvi mein ne yeh reports parh li hai aur woh bhi ek daafa nahi balke paach baar aur yeh bilkul theek hain'
'Matlab ab mujhe khoon nahi dena pare ga na'
'Tumhe blood tests ab har roz dene pare ge'
'Are yeh kya baat hui aisi bhi kon si beemari hai jahan har roz blood tests hote hai par doctor ab aap kuch bhi kar lejiye mein apna khalis khoon nahi dongi aur yeh baat paper pe likh dejiye'
She didnot wanted to listen to him so she stood up, took the file from his hands and started to move towards the exit. Meanwhile her eye struck to the page which he was seeing for the last ten minutes. She had gone through this once before but not thoroughly so it was possible that she didn't saw this before. She didn't understood the whole page but on the conclusion it was written her life's future. It stated 'THE PATIENT HAS LEUKEMIA.'
'Leukemia' A word came out of her mouth. She turned back to see doctor.
'BLOOD CANCER Maanvi tumhe blood cancer hai'
This made her world go upside down. It seemed like her life have crashed at that moment. A lone tear came out of her eye. She knew that only about 99 percent dies from this disease and only 1 percent survives. And she is not that lucky that she will survive it.
The first thought came in her mind was about her one in thousand JEEVIKA DI. Her whole life from her childhood till now spend witb her di evolved around her. She remembered their trips to gangaghat, walking like free birds in the rishikesh streets, their promises that they would never separate from each other, her marriage rituals, their picnics, their laughter, their crys.
Next thought was about her beeji, chachi chachu, badi beeji, daabu. How would they react when they will come to know about her illness. And how can she leave them now. She had to arrange daabu's marriage, open a big business to chachu, make her chachi fit from all pains, help beeji in organizing money to make their house large and take care of badi beeji in her old age.
Next she thought about his evergreen jiju who took care of her more than a father, his adorable mother who loved her more than her real mother, chachi chachi shlok who didnot made her miss daboo,pinky and madan when she stayed in chandighar, buaji who remains stiff from outside but loves maanvi from her heart and daddaji who treated her like a family member.
Next thought made her shiver down the spine. How could she leave her frenemy, her closest best friend, her partner VIRAAT. She remembered all the moments she spent with him. The first unusual encounter as Viren and Jeevika. Then their small cute fights during the marriage rituals. Their first meeting after marriage in chandighar. Promotion from enemies to friends and then to partners. Their increased closeness between them and a sense of protection towards each other. Their celebrations on New year, Holi, Diwali, Birthdays.
'Maanvi' Doctor made her come out of her world.
'Don't worry everything will be fine. Bus tumhe strong hona pare ga apne liay apni di ke liay'
'Doctor mere pass kitna waqt hai'
'Tum fikar maat karo abhi kuch aur test karwane paare ge jo confirm karein ge keh tumhara can...can...cancer kon si stage per hai' Dr.Mehra was very professional doctor. Although he has solved hundreds of cases in his life, this case made himself worry. In a short period of time he became so attached to her that now was worrying in her this condition.
'Mein kuch medicines likh deta hu inhe time per le lena per jitni jaldi ho sake ilaaj shoru ho jai toh acha hai warna...' He couldnot even think about the consequences so he stopped in between and gave her the prescription. She took it and went outside. While passing through the reception Nurse Sweety saw her and called her name but she didnot listened as she was fully in shock.
In Vadhera mansion 7:30 pm
'Yeh maanu bhi ma keh kar gai thi keh ek ghante tak ajai gi per ab toh 4 ghante ho chuke hai upar se mera phone bhi nahi utha rahi para nahi kahan reh gai' Jeevika was walking here and there in the living room waiting for maanvi as it was getting too late.
'Chinta maat karo beta maanvi ajai gi kisi zaroori kaam mein phas gai hogi' Vanshika told her to console her.
'Haan jeevika tum na tension maat lo woh ajai gi' Chachi said.
'Par ma chachi aisa bhi kon sa zaroori kaam par gaya keh mera phone bhi nahi utha rahi abhi tak mein ne koi 50 calls ki hongi per us ne ek bhi call nahi uthai'
'Jeevika tum fazool mein itni tension le rahi ho woh ajai gi aur waise bhi woh koi baachi thori na hai jo ghum ajai gi' Viren said.
'Maanvi tum kahan reh gai ho' Viraat said in whisper to himself hoping that maanvi come home soon.
'Viraat tumne kuch kaha kya?' Chachi asked him.
'Hm nahi toh'
'Haan Viraat mein ne bhi kuch suna kya bol raha tha tu?' Viren said to viraat.
'Idhar mujhe maanvi ko lekar itni chinta ho rahi hai aur aap log viraat ko lekar fikarmand ho rahe hain jab ke us ne kuch kaha bhi nahi' Jeevika was becoming furious as noone was bothering thinking about maanvi.
'Woh mein yeh keh raha tha keh mein bahar maanvi ko dhoondne jaata hu' His strong behavior about maanvi somewhere made others shocked. He went outside where it was raining heavily. He was about to enter in the car when he saw a girl walking towards the house. He didnot recongnized her but when he watched her carefully, it was none other than Maanvi.
