Prologue
She sat anxiously waiting in the room fidgeting with her hospital scrub. Her mother's pacing in the room seems to augment her concern, expediting her nervous rocking on the bed. She kept her eyes focused on her Grandma's bible. The smell of old paper empowered her senses but she kept reading the piece of paper that sat neatly inside the book.
When you try your best but you don't succeed
When you get what you want but not what you need
When you feel so tired but you can't sleep
Stuck in reverse
And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can't replace
When you love someone but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you
The door suddenly flung open startling her.
"IT'S A MATCH!" said her father exclaiming in joy!
Her mother ran forward and hugged her fragile figure and held her bony hands tightly as the tears rolled down her cheeks. Her father came forward to join her mother in holding their most precious possession.
Khushi Kumari Gupta daughter of Ratan Gupta the world renowned entrepreneur and Tina Gupta the leading designer of Belgium. Here she was battling last stages of acute myelogenous leukemia; her last ray of hope after three years of chemotherapy was this bone marrow transplant. Money was never the problem but unfortunately it had seem impossible to find a perfect donor match for her. But today it all appears to fall into place as the family rejoiced.
"Ma we are gonna make it! God has sent me my Angel. "
Arnav gulped the third shot of vodka and cheered along with his friends at the bar. One of his friends winked at him calling his attention to the girl that he was dancing along.
"HOT" said Arnav as his friend read the lips.
"Two more large here" he called out to the bar tender and now truned to face his gang.
"Enjoy Karlo Salo! Afterall I am the one who can die" he said high fiving his friends
"Arnav are you sure about this, is this all worth it for money. Ek bar phir sooch lay yaar" Asked Akash in concern.
"Oh! Come on five million dollars for a piece of my bone marrow is worth it. This Gupta chick is my lottery."
