Nanav...mere bhai...get up now! it is getting late for the classes...MBA is not a joke, we can't afford to miss our classes like in our graduation days...NK started complaining.
5 more minutes NK...please don't shout near my ears, you go ahead, I am coming in 10...Arnav shouted from his bed.
Lazily opening his eyes, Arnav saw it was already half past 8, and the first class starts at 9 am...in the Business management Block, of Social sciences dept.
But his dream from last night kept him on his toes, while he could not understand how he felt that dream to be so real- even Khushi's feelings were felt by him...howz that possible? wierd...and yet sweet!!
he quickly rushed to brush his teeth, and shower at the same time...in the shower he was again lost in his dream. Somehow he managed to bike to class in time.
Prof. Palekar was very strict with his MBA students, he never let anybody enter his class after first 5 minutes, and luckily for Arnav, he was late today due to traffic and that helped love struck souls like Arnav to get admission into the class.
Arnav impatiently waited for the Lunch break- he wanted to walk to the canteen and get a glimpse of Khushi. As soon as the last class was over, he quickly walked towards the canteen not paying attention to NK, Lavanya and Udaan.
He was in the canteen in next 3 minutes, and quickly scanned for Khushi and her group...he found Kiran and Vijay at the counter and could not see Khushi though! It was painful not to see her...he thought he should go ahead and ask Kiran about Khushi.
As he started approaching Kiran and Vijay, his heart slipped a beat, and he felt Khushi's presence in distance. Khushi was coming from Library with Sam and another handsome looking guy, who Arnav never saw in Khushi's group.
What the ...Arnav thought in his head...who is this stud? And why is Khushi smiling at his words? What the f**k Sam is doing allowing the new guy walk so close to Khushi?
Arnav's blood boiled...and he quickly sat at a near by table to observe what happens next. Lavanya and NK came along and sat in the other chairs...Udaan aksed everyone, if any one wants to buy from the canteen...and Arnav declined the offer, while Lavanya cooed aloud- what's wrong with you Arnav? Why are not eating anything? Shall I bring your fav. snack form the canteen?
Arnav did not answer her, all his attention was on Khushi and the new guy who now entered the canteen and waved to Kiran and Vijay... Hey, Shyam bhai, long time, no see...shouted Vijay as soon as they saw each other...
So, his name is Shyam then...well well, I need to know all about this Shyam now, hmmm...sighed Arnav aloud...
what is it nanav...what did you say? Come again! Asked NK, with his standard expression (eye brows raised and temple twitched).
Nothing NK, go ahead and get your food order with Udaan, exclaimed Arnav.
Lavanya on the other hand, saw Arnav's gaze being fixed on Khushi and a new guy, and she did not like Arnav paying attention to another girl.
She thought in her head- I need to get to the bottom of this thing soon, Arnav seems so lost in her from past few days...this is not good for me at all!
Khushi on the other hand, felt quite at unease with Shyam's extra attention on her. It's been an hour since Shyam met her in the Library, and since then he never left her side, and showed his complete attention to her and made sure that Sam (khushi group mate) remained aloof from both of them while he sat next to her with a book in his hand pretending to refer to it as long as Khushi was in the library.
After an hour of getting irritated with his pile-on behaviour, Khushi decided to walk-out of the Library with Sam for her Lunch break, and as was expected, Shyam also self-invited himself to join them.
Shyam was their senior in MA, and was interested in her for a long time, and Khushi never felt any attraction towards Shyam and so kept a respectful distance from him throughout the years when he studied in the Uni.campus.
Now, Shyam was in JNU, Delhi, doing his PhD and kept on writing emails and paying visits every time he came back to Mumbai. He never stopped hovering around Khushi, depsite her non-verbal communication of lack of interest in his advances towards her.
Khushi could feel Arnav's eyes on her and Shyam, and was irritated a bit, thinking now I have two such romeos to deal with...hey...devi mayyaa, madad!
As she took a sip from the water bottle she saw Arnav's face become all red and his brows joined together in a tie and him being lost in deep thoughts, while the only girl in their group desparately tried to get his attention back on her.
Khushi felt pity for Arnav. She thought, Arnav was suffering like her with all unwanted attention! For the first time she felt familiar with his pain.
Meanwhile, shyam came back to the table with the others with a variety of snacks and hot tea. Khushi was offered the food by Shyam, and she politely declined only accepting the tea.
Kiran, Vijay and Sam had started giggling and giving wierd looks at Khushi and Shyam. Within a short while Khushi was irritated by Shyam's over-attention, and her friends' antics. Khushi got angry, and left the canteen and her friends excusing herself in the name of headache.
Shyam immediately got up, and offered to go with Khushi, to drop her in his car till the LH (ladies hostel). Khushi again declined his offer saying, she would prefer walking in the fresh air to reduce her headache. With that Khushi left the canteen, and in few minutes Shyam also took the leave from Kiran and others.
Arnav was close enough to listen to their conversation, and was relieved to see Khushi leaving early. However, when he observed Shyam leaving soon, he decided to follow Shyam.
As Arnav expected, Shyam ran towards the direction in which Khushi left, and in 2 minutes he joined Khushi who was now walking few steps ahead listening to her fav. Yurima music with her ear phones on! Shyam called Khushi's name out loud, and Khushi could not listen due to the music.
As soon as Shyam quickly reached Khushi, he held her shoulders from the back with a grin on his face...and a stranger's hold on her shoulders from the back scared Khushi. As she shrieked out in fear and disgust, Arnav, who was at a distance, jumped in his tracks with fury...
Since, he was closely following them on his bike...he could immediately pick up speed and block Shyam who was now trying to pacify Khushi.
Before Khushi realised what was happening in front of her, she saw Shyam being stopped by Arnav with a punch on his nose, for which Shyam retaliated with a punch back...
Both the guys were now on the road throwing strong punches across each others faces, while Arnav shouted at Shyam, "how dare you touch her like that! Can't you see she is not interested in you? "
Khushi was shocked to see two fully grown men fighting because of her, while a small group of students going for their classes from the lunch break gathered around and started murmuring among themselves.
NK, Lavanya and others noticed this sudden commotion and heard Arnav's shouting, and started running towards them to stop the fight...while Khushi stood there shocked and upset at the sudden turn-out of events.

Just one note to my friends reading this FF: all updates/parts of this ff are now posted in one thread (one below the other) with the title Arshi ff: that one night I will never forget!
