PART 18-SHOWDOWN
Shyam walked into the kitchen and wordlessly grabbed Khushi's wrist and dragged her out towards RMs exit. Khushi saw the manic gleam in his eyes, and screamed out to Arnav. Shyam was oblvious to all this in his manic fit of rage and jealousy. Arnav ran out of his room, and felt fire consume his being the minute he saw that scoundrel lay a hand on his wife.
"SHYAM!" he thundered.
On getting no response, he stormed downstairs and caught Shyam just outside the house on the threshold. He grabbed Shyam's hand and yanked it away from Khushi, and pulled her behind him.
"How dare you!" He fumed.
Shyam laughed. "I had told you before ki Khushiji humari jaan aur deewanapan ban chuki hain! Aur aapko laga ki hum aap dono ko itna kareeb rehne denge...!" He snapped. He eyed Khushi wih eyes full of crze ad lust, which made the ASR in Arnav to come alive. He grabbed Shyam's collar and choked him when he saw an auto come up the drive way and Naniji got out of it. She froze at the sight that awaited her...Arnav holding Shyam in strangle hold and Khushi standing behind Arnav with fear.
She went to Arnav, and told him sternly. "Jaane deejiye Damaadji ko..."
On seeing Nani,, Shyam snapped back to his senses. "Naniji, dekhiye saale saab ko..."
Nani held up her hand to stop him as Arnav looked at her in disbelief. No one noticed another figure emerge out of the auto, witnessing this little drama and silently dialling a number on her cellphone.
"Nani, issne Di ko dokha diya, Khushi ke mangetar Shyam yaad hi hoga ko aapko? Ye wahi hai..." he said.
"Saale saab ye kya bake jaa rahe hain aap? Hum aur Rani Sahiba ko-"
He was interrupted by a slap. "Khabardaar Anjali bitiya ka naam tumre mooh se phir nilke toh..." Nani spat at him.
"Nani ji ye sab jhoot hai! Hum Khushiji se shaadi kyun karenge? Ye sab Khushiji ne kiya hai, saale saab ke dimaag mein bakwas bhar chuki hain..."
"Kahe jhoot bolat ho Nandkisore, hain?" A voice boomed from them, as the silent witness walked over to them.
"B-Buaji?" Shyam stammered.
"Haan SHYAM! Pechanne mein dikkat hui kaa?" She mocked him. "Aisan kaise bhula diye Nandkisore...Humre ghar mein rahe aur humka, apni Buaji ko bhul gaye tum?" Buaji asked sarcastically, as Nani pursed her lips.
They were interrupted by Anjali's voice. "Nani? Buaji? Ye kya-" she paused when she saw Shyam there, frightened to death. He looked at Anjali and realized that she was his only chnce to escape...his foolish and ignorant wife. "Rani Sahiba, ye log-"
He was cut off by a slap again. "Humaara naam ANJALI hai. Anjali SINGH RAIZADA!" she said, waves of fury emantaing from her.
Looking at his face, Anjali smirked. "Haan Shyamji, hum ko toh ye baat Chhotey se pehle hi pata tha..."
Shyam's eyes widened.
They heard a jeep pull in and Shyam turned around to see police. Buaji boomed again. "Hai re Nandkisore! Aa hi gaye ee log...Uff! Humka laga ki phone karne se koi faida naahi hoga!"
The constable greeted Arnav and then Khushi. Giving a nod, he cuffed Shyam's hands and took him away.
Anjali sighed. Then she turned to them. "Arey, andar chaliye, sabko prasad dena hai!"
Nani smied at Anjali and inside her heart, wished her daughter also had Anjali's strong heart. Wiping her tears, she lead Buaji inside, thanking her for telling her the truth.
Arnav smiled. "Toh aap bhi planning kar rahi thi...?"
Nani laughed and said, "Haan...Oo ka hai na, humne jab aap Khushi bitiya ka ghar le aawat the, humein shaq hua ki unka bas girke itni chot pahunchna mumkin naahi hai. Toh hum Madhumatiji ko phone kiye rahe-"
"Aur hum uka sab bol diye Nandkisore..." Buaji said.
Arnav shook his head; Nani was clever too... Wow! Di and Nani, need he see someone else?!
In his thoughts, he suddenly met Khushi's eyes. A silent understanding passed between them. Arnav went upstairs, and excusing herself Khushi folllowed.
-ArShi Room-
Khushi followed Arnav and locked the door behind her. Turning, she paused for a second and flew into Arnav's arms. She cleared her throat and said, "I love you Arnavji" and kissed him softly on the cheek.
"I love you more" he whispered, as he nuzzled his nose on her neck, making her shudder lightly. "Its over Khushi. We can finally be together..."
Khushi smiled in contentment. "Yes."
Arnav looked at her. "Well, I have a promise to fulfill don't I?"
Khushi looked at Arnav feeling consfused. Arnav walked with Khushi downstairs and announced. "Main aur Khushi phir se shaadi karenge!"
Payal Akash and Anjali exchanged knowing smiles and Nani looked confused. As did buaji. "Per kyun?"
Arnav looked into Khushi's eyes and said, "Kyunki jiss tarah humaari shaadi hui, woh Khushi ke shaadi ke sapno ke pas bhi nahi tha..."
Khushi smiled and hugged him, tears filling her eyes on hearin her Laad Governor talk that way.
Nani smiled and agreed.
(Yes, the truth of their marriage won't be revealed to the elders of the house...)
