Mayank adjusted himself comfortably on the sofa, and placed the cup tray in between him and Nupur's seat, "betho Nupur", he said to a rather lost Nupur.

"umm, haan ..", she replied, and placing the cookie plate beside the cups, she sat down formally.

"chai thandi ho jaye gi Nupur", he leaned a bit and moving back unconsciously she said, "oh .. sorry", she quickly grabbed the cup and moved an inch back. She knew she was behaving stupid and idiotic, but it all came involuntary.

Mayank suppressed his smile at her nervousness, and the way she was twitching her lips make her look even more cute. Sighing, he sipped, and was waiting for her to take the first sip.

Nupur took the first sip, and had to expect that she was rather impressed. Tea was very good. She looked up to find him eager to listen to his praises, and coming in a naughty mood, she took another sip, "aur kya kya banana ata hai ap ko?", she asked casually, and a bit disappointed, Mayank took a sip, "sab kuch, I can cook almost everything, I have been living in hostels since 12^th standard", he replied.

"well, that proves that this tea is indeed very good, the best I've ever had", she said, and contrary to her expectation, she blushed due to his broad smile and lowered her eyes.

She must have looked very beautiful doing this, because she almost heard him sigh.

"tumhain kya kya banana ata hai?", Mayank extended his arm across the back of the sofa, and feeling tickled on her shoulder, without even any touch, she replied, "mujhe bhi sab banana ata hai, although I have not been living in hostels, but I know cooking" she replied slowly, fidgeting with her cup.

This was turning out to be much much difficult than she had really thought. She was actually blushing, but somewhere deep down she knew that she was enjoying. It felt beautiful to blush under someone's intense gaze like that.

"great, phir I can wait to taste, tu kya bana rahi ho?", he shifting his position and Nupur looked up immediately, "abhi?"

She was a good cook, but cooking for him was a whole different thing, she didn't even know how much sugar he took in his tea.

Mayank, on the other hand read her nervousness and smiled, "ofcourse not, abhi tu tum nayi dulhan ho", he leaned and yet again lowering her eyes she looked away, "itni bhi nayi nahi hon, hamari shaadi koi ik month ho gaya hai", she said, drawing patterns over the tea cup,

"well, that doesn't matter, merey pass tu abhi ayi ho na", he said softly and Nupur felt it soothing to her thundering heart. His voice wasn't seductive, it was genuine. This made her look at him and smile, "ye tu hai, you know I had thought maybe I'll have to live like thousands of other girls, waiting for their husband to visit once a year", she said, she just had to share this fear she went through.

"what made you think that?, You were to come with me!, it was always decided Nupur", he replied confused, somewhere it ached to think that his delicate wife was going through a turmoil, she wasn't made for turmoil, she looked so fragile.

"I know, but still ..", she was still drawing patterns, "but well, now that's over", she looked at him and smiled, which reflected genuine happiness.

"yes that's over!, so tell me how did you like London?"

"it's cold!"

"and the Heathrow airport?

"crowded!"

"my car", he grinned

"fast!", she grinned back

" home?"

"beautiful, cozy and warm", she replied softly

'and me"?, he added and Nupur instantly looked at him dumfounded, which made him giggle, "okay okay relax! I was just kidding", he was still giggling, and getting caught in an act, she pouted, "that wasn't funny!"

"aww .. really?", he leaned more close, so that Nupur actually felt his warm breath on her cheek and feeling like jelly, she gripped the cup firmly and nodded.

"awww .. ", he whispered, and she kept her head lowered, and being so close, he wanted to press his lips against her fluffy cheek. It looked so soft. He thought for a moment. She was his wife, and even she would mind, he could give her time, but atleast he can take the first step. But wasnt it so early?, she just came today, but well, he will give time if she reacted otherwise. So deciding upon all this in a fraction of second, he tilted his neck to press his lips over her cheek.

This act lead to the involuntary closing of Nupur's eyes, she gripped the cup so firmly that she would break, her heart beat audible and legs shivering lightly. She made sure her head was fixed in the position until Mayank's lips rested on her cheek, and they did for a while longer than required for a kiss.

After a few seconds Mayank separated the contact and Nupur's grip loosened on the cup, he looked at her. She was shivering a bit, her face had clear traces of happiness and nervousness mixed, she reacted just like a bride should, which made his heart contract with affection for her.
