Somehow the guy is likeable despite the complicated life he is living

Cynicism is't born of hurt???? Really? What does one FEEL when each of these shitload of f**ked up experiences happens to one?
I'm not sure if one jumps straight from being f**ked up to being cynical. I think hurt is the worm that works through the compost of these experiences to create the manure of cynicism ( I've never claimed to have any but the most pathetic of writing skills)

I like these shades of Arnav. A person who allows the ladies to pay for the date and night. He sure knows who he is and accepts it and revels in it. It is almost strange that Khushi shines to him. Ah.. must imply something. I look forward to reading, CN. Your writing cannot be said to belong to a noob. 😊

It's fairly simple. Or may be I should have been more accurate or politically correct when I wrote that line. "Cynicism isn't always born of hurt."

Does one need to go through everything there is to know to feel hurt? I am humane enough to react to circumstances around me which leave me frustrated or enraged. These feelings morph further when you see the same thing happening over and over in different walks of life to different people. That is when one derives a formula for their own life. I don't need to go through hurt and suffering to understand what it is. I just have to look around and really talk to people.

Isn't being human enough?
