Part 36
Kria sat on the front row with her hand clasped in Rey's hand .. he kept squeezing her from time to time .. she saw how nervous he was .. he was continuously tapping his feet .. his breathing was a bit uneven and he was attentively looking on the stage '
She looked at him and her heart skipped a beat .. whatever this man did .. somehow he managed to always bring a smile on her face .. she leaned close to him .. and whispered in his ears "Reyaansh .. I know you are gonna win it .. and now stop being nervous like a kid .. look at me " she spoke in a stern tone ..
Rey looked at her with wide eyes .. and in a moment she took his lips in hers to give a quick smooch in the dark auditorium amongst the thousands who were attending the award ceremony ..
Immediately she looked down and a bit her lip at her own action ..
He was amazed but nevertheless very happy .. he licked his lips to savour her taste .. He couldn't help but grin at his bold wife now .. she was the one who hated public show of affection and now she kissed him .. his heart beat had come down to normal .. he was now relaxing .. but that was only till the minute he heard ..
"The Entrepreneur award for this year goes to .. Mr. Reyaansh Singhannia and Akshay Modi"
He literally jumped out of his seat with excitement .. pulling his poor wife along him .. she almost faltered and tripped when he swirled her around lifting her above the ground .. then holding her tightly in his embrace he placed a hard kiss on her soft lips .. "Thanks Wifey .. I just love you for everything" ..
Rey couldn't help his smile growing wider and wider seeing his wife look down and blush furiously ..

As Kria sat and saw Reyaansh and Akshay take the trophy which they both deserved to win .. she felt so proud of her husband .. her heart swelled to be a part of his journey from the very beginning .. her minor contributions which were nothing compared to his devotion .. his hard work .. his passion .. his goals .. suddenly everything which he had dreamt of .. all his dreams were coming true and he was on the ladder towards the peak ..
She could feel her eyes wet .. her emotions making her choke as she heard him give his thank you speech ..
Rey took the award and held the mike .. His eyes looked only at one person .. His Kria .. she was smiling with tears in her eyes .. he could see how happy she was for him .. and he knew whatever he has achieved is only because of that woman .. his inspiration and anchor in his life ..
"Everyone of us have dreams .. for many they just die when they wake up .. for some they take shape in reality but don't mature as they are not supported or encouraged by the people around them and its just a handful of them for whom the dreams become a reality and they live to enjoy it with their loved ones ..
When I had spoken of my dream almost a decade ago to my friends or family .. I was ridiculed at .. But there was just one person who took my words seriously .. she was the one who believed in me .. she saw that I had the potential to make it thru which even I sometimes doubted ..
She was the one who saw me thru all the ups and downs .. she was the one who gave up her dreams somewhere along our journey but never pulled me back from going ahead to achieve mine ..
She has supported me by her words .. by her work .. by her optimistic spirit .. her love and most of all by just standing and holding my hand at every moment of this wonderful and the most cherished journey of my life ..
She is the one who has made me what I am as I stand here and accept this award '" He paused and smiled .. "She is my wife , Mrs Kria Reyaansh Singhannia " and he pointed his hand towards her ..
He continued " I am standing here not only on her behalf .. but for the efforts of all my co-workers and friends who have helped me set up my company .. and who worked along with me ..
And last but not the least .. one of the most important persons who had the nerves to handle me till today .. my best friend and partner Akshay without whom this would never have been possible ..
I have nothing but gratitude and appreciation for all you .. This one is for us .. "
He and Akshay held the trophy high up in the air .. and hugged each other ..
There was a loud uproar in the auditorium .. Kria could see folks giving a standing ovation to them .. she too stood up and clapped as hard as she could ..
She turned a bit to look around .. beamed at the applause received by her husband .. and then she saw a familiar face in the crowd .. some rows behind her .. tears in eyes .. a hesitant smile .. and hands shivering but clapping ..
Her smile vanished .. the twinkle in her eyes turned to anger and hurt .. she hurriedly turned her face so that she doesn't meet the eyes .. her heart was filled with anger and her tears were tears of pain she had gone thru ..

She had been pacing the floor .. her hands clasped tightly into each other .. waiting for Rey from the past half hour .. she wanted to go away from this place as soon as possible .. but he and Akshay were busy with the media reporters inside where there was a small party held for all the invitees ..
How dare he come back ? Will he again ruin her life ? Has he come again with some clandestine motive ? What does he want ?
Her mind was just replaying these questions and again and again .. she was getting very restless and nervous ..
Finally she just sat on the bench near by .. clutching the ends hard .. closed her eyes and started to take deep breaths ..

"Granny .. you didn't inform me that you were so ill .. and Aunt Anne .. even you didn't tell me .. how could you '" an angry Kria cried out and rushed to her Granny's bed side ..
Her Granny gave a weak smile to her .. raised her quivering hands a bit for Kria to come in her arms ..
Kria went and hugged her and cried bitterly in her arms ..
"Kria .. how could I call you .. you have 2 kids to handle .. they are just a few months old now .. how could I ask you to make this long journey and come to meet me .. " she said calmly .. soothing Kria's hair ..
"But .. I wanted .. I want to be with you .. " Kria sobbed like a small kid ..
"I know Kria .. even now I was angry with Anne to tell you about my health .. see you all came here .. I really didn't like it " she scowled ..
"Granny .. please don't do this .. ok ok .. now that we all have come .. you have to now get well soon .. you have to play with your great-grandchildren .. ok Granny" she somehow controlled her tears and touched her Granny's pale cheeks .. she could see how bad her condition was .. but the spirit in her eyes was unmatched .. it was the same she had always seen .. it always had that glow .. the spark of a fighter ..

"Granny .. why don't you come with me ?" Kria asked softly after giving medicine to Granny and was trying to put her to sleep .. Kria had put her twins to bed .. she let Rey know that tonight she wants to sleep with Granny .. He knew Kria wanted to be with her alone .. he understood her ..
Her Granny had become a bit excited seeing Rey and the twins .. Aunt Anne had said that after so many months of being ill ..today she had smiled heartily .. had the soup and some dinner ..
Granny had been ill from past one year .. but she had not let Kria or anyone else know about it .. Initially it was Kria's pregnancy .. and then the twins ..
But now as her health was deteriorating Aunt Anne had to inform Kria .. so Kria and Rey had travelled to India with their 3m old twins to be with Granny during her last moments ..
Kria sat beside her Granny holding her hand ..
"Oh .. come on .. now do you want me to raise your kids too .. and you and Rey would enjoy .. "she said with a crooked grin and then winked ..
Kria blinked her tears .. and smiled .. "Yes .. I want you to raise them just the way you did me .. " she gently brushed her hand over her Granny's forehead ..
"Lazy .. like always .. "
"Granny .. I really want " but she just couldn't complete .. her own voice choked .. she didn't know how her emotions filling her heart was just flowing thru her eyes '
"Kria .. please don't cry .. I know .. you will be the best mom in the world to Riya and Ansh .. just like you were the best daughter for your mom and my best great grand daughter "
Kria had to smile at the old lady's words ..
"Just that you were a bit naughty"
Kria pouted when she heard that and hugged her Granny ..
"But .. I want them to learn from you .. " she said in between her sniffs ..
"Even I wish .. I could have been with them longer .. played with them .. see them grow " she said with distant hope in her eyes ..
"Granny .. no .. please don't say all that " Kria immediately got alarmed ..
Granny raised her hand indicating that she wanted to touch Kria's face .. Kria immediately bend down a bit ..
Granny caressed her cheeks lovingly .. wiped her tears .. looked at her for a long time ..
Both daughter and mother .. yes that's what their relation was since Kria hardly remembered her mother .. looked at each other convening their words thru their eyes .. conversing for all the time they missed .. all the time they had not met .. all the time they wanted to be with each other .. they wanted to say so much .. but words were not required between them .. the touch .. the look and the warmth and love for them was enough to have this conversation ..
"Granny .. I am sorry for all the trouble I have given you .. " Kria sobbed in her Granny's hands ..
"Shh .. no dear .. you were never a trouble for me .. you were so matured ..so confident .. so good hearted .. so loving .. "
Kria had held her tears till now but burst out crying now '
"Shh .. come on Kria .. who would think you are a mother of two .. "
"Stop crying like a baby .. if your babies see you crying like this .. what will they think .. "
"Shh .. " she gently again wiped her tears ..
Kria smiled ..
"You know Kria .. I know you are a very strong girl .. you have always been .. but now that you are married .. with kids .. I know you will just grow stronger .. and be the pillar of strength for all .. "
"I wanted to say many things to you .. but fortunately or unfortunately .. we got that time now .."
"No .. Granny .. you won't speak much .. please you have to sleep now .. I have already exerted you much " Kria tried to persuade her to go off to sleep ..
"Kria .. please let me say .. I really want to .."
Kria looked at her and knew its so difficult to dissuade this old lady .. she held her hands gently ..
"Ok .. have this water .. and I am here .. I am listening to you .. ok .. are you comfortable ? "
"Yes .. dear" she paused .. took a few deep breaths ..
"You know Kria .. you have always been the one who were independent .. who took her own decisions .. stood by it .. some decisions were wrong .. some were right for you .. but you were brave and faced it all .. but I really feel that from now on .. whenever you take any decisions .. just pause for a moment and think .. what effect will it have on yourself .. on Rey .. on both of you and kids and the whole family .. Kria .. its easy to take decisions when you are alone .. but now you have to think for all of them .. you would never want them to face the after effects of your rash decision .. rite ? ..I know you can depend on Rey .. ask him .. but at some point in life .. some decisions only you have to take .. you will understand it yourself .. so always think of everyone before you make up your mind .. "
Kria was listening to her Granny with full attention .. by this time in her life she had understood that her Granny's words always held some value even though she never understood them at that time .. but it was always for her good ..
She gently squeezed her hand to show that she understood everything what the old lady wanted to say ..
"I really love you Kria .. and I wish you all the happiness in your life ' "
"Granny .. I love you too ' now please don't say much .. please .. you must sleep now .. "
Her granny sighed ..

After a few days Kria's granny passed away in sleep .. she had a calm , serene look on her face .. she looked as if she was in a deep peaceful slumber .. no worries .. no tensions ..
Kria was very surprised at herself .. at her own reactions .. she had not shed a single tear when her Granny expired .. suddenly she felt she didn't need to .. she was definitely sad that Granny was no longer with her .. but she was happy that Granny met her great grand children when she left .. she was calm when she left ..
One more thing which surprised Kria .. no no .. which shocked Kria was Rey .. he had been crying bitterly when Granny expired .. Kria had to actually hold him and steady him .. he had been crying as if she was his own Granny .. he had grown to be very attached to her .. she was his family too ..

Kria slowly opened her eyes .. she suddenly knew what she had to do .. how could she not think straight .. This was the only thing she should do and yes she would do '
She walked past the folks standing and stood in front of the man she would never have liked to see again in her life ..
"Good Evening , Mr. Singhannia"
The man turned to face her ..
She could see that he had recognised her .. his eyes which she remembered from their last meeting were hard as steel had been replaced with soft ness .. she could see sorrow .. guilt .. remorse on his face ..
"How are you ?" she asked again when he didn't speak a word ..
"I .. I am fine Kria .. how are you .. " he spoke with great difficulty .. she could feel that he was having a lump in his throat ..
"I am good .. " she smiled ..
She could see that he was grateful that she had come to talk to him .. she could see a lot of questions in his eyes .. but she knew he feared to ask them ..
"Reyaansh is doing great ..our kids Riya and Ansh are fine too " she spoke slowly ..
She almost heard him let out a breath which he had caught till now .. she knew this was what he wanted to hear ..
"I just wanted to let you know that .. you are always welcome to meet your grand children .. they would really love it .. and .. and .. I would also appreciate it .."
She knew he had never expected this from her .. his eyes widened with shock .. and then slowly tears formed in them .. she could see how in a moment his shock turned to regret .. she knew he was sorry for everything he had ever said or done ..
"I am so.. sorry" he stammered ..
"I think we should not let the past come in our way from now on " she looked straight in the eye ..
"But .. Rey .." his voice quivered ..
"I know he will take his time .. "
He nodded ..
She held out her hand to him .. he shook it .. and then placed his left hand over hers .. "Thank you very much Kria .. "
She smiled "I need to leave now .. "

Rey was coming towards her .. after his meeting with the reporters .. he was really happy today .. but Kria knew that she would have to do this '
He came and hugged her ..
"Reyaansh .. "
"Hmm " his head still buried in her soft curls ..
She swallowed once .. took a deep breath ..
"I would really like you to meet somebody "
He looked up .. "Who"
"Promise me .. you will talk ' "
"What's there to promise .. Of course I will talk .. " he was confused ..
"I want you to meet him alone .. "
"Why .. and who is he ?" Rey furrowed his brows ..
"Someone very important .. he is waiting there .. I will be in the car .. " she pointed to a corner and left ..

Kria was impatiently tapping her fingers on the steering wheel .. she was praying and hoping in her heart that everything turns out the way she wanted .. it was not easy for Rey to forgive and forget things easily .. but he has to let go of it .. he just can't carry that burden all along ..
She was in deep thought when she heard the car door open ..
Rey came and sat on the passenger seat ..
She put her hand over his .. he looked towards her .. "I am fine " he said ..
"Emm" she was not sure if he wanted to talk to her about what happened ..
He took a deep breath .. "Thanks .. I will try my best to move on .. " he gave a short smile ..
She squeezed his hand ..
She felt relieved .. yes .. now things will get sorted out slowly ..it will be back to normal again ..
Thinking she dove off happily ..
