Inspired by the many couples who are from complete different religions but fall in love and pay for it, we shouldn't be told who we are allowed to fall in love with and who we aren't. Love should be taken and given freely, you shouldn't be expected to convert, or shouldn't be forced into acceptance.
After this hefty note do read it :D

OS: Eid ki mehendi
Arnav glanced at his other half and sighed in content, it took them forever to get to where they were but they got there. The hurdles kept getting bigger and stronger but that didn't stop either of the two, even the religion barrier could not stop them with her being Muslim and him being Sikh.
He pressed a kiss to her forehead trying his best not to ruin the mehendi that was intricately designed.
Even holding her like this took a lot of persuasion tonight, she claimed he would ruin her mehendi and Eid was only a day away so no changes could be made. He sighed as he recalled her words.
She had crept into the room silently after the girls so called mehendi night, thinking he wasn't awake truth be told he couldn't sleep without her in his arms it had become such a horrible habit that he refused to sleep without her.
He heard her go around the room, before crawling into bed, he had intentionally kept his arms out and open so she could take the hint and reciprocate.
But Khushi had other ideas.
She moved to the opposite end of the bed and began snoring lightly; angry Arnav moved rather abruptly and folded her into his arms placing kisses onto her exposed shoulders.
"Arnav-ji" She moaned, her voice deep with sleep.
"Begum saayiba" He would tease.
"Aap hume choriye" Khushi proclaimed "Aur begam-saayiba maat kahiye"
"Kyun?" He said his arms tightening with her struggle.
"Aap humara shoher hai aur hum aapki patni" She said, using both urdu and hindi "Begum saayiba nahi"
"And you are my begum-saayiba and I am your pati" He told her, rather matter of factly.
"Humme choriya" She said again.
"Kyun?"
"Kyunki aap humari mehendi ko kharab kardenge" She exclaimed
"I won't jaan, I promise" He said at once, dreading a night's seperation.
"Nahi hum-" his kisses stopped her denial.
Truth told even Khushi could not resist, it would be quite abnormal to not have him hold her so she gave in.
He whooped with joy and enveloped her further, tugging her so she landed onto his chest as he fell asleep on his back.
But sleep evaded him, as she had started to toss and turn, he had gasped in horror trying to subdue her so the mehendi was not ruined, but Khushi wasn't one to give in, so Arnav had to sacrifice his sleep just so her mehendi could stay intact.
He glanced at her face again and pressed small kisses along her brow line.
"Arnav-ji" She moaned.
"Khushi" His tone mirroring hers.
"Aap aise maat kijiye, humari mehendi" She said, her words incoherent.
"Kuch nahi hoga mehendi ko" He said, and begun feathering kisses again.
"Please" She said, in English halting his lips.
"Fine" he grumbled.
"I want to put my arms around you" She whispered.
"What?" He said.
"Humme app ke ghala lag ne ha" She said.
He got the hint, due to some previously experienced Eids, he knew what she wanted, and bowed down to her eye level so her arms could loop around his neck whilst his arms went about her waist.
"Abb Khush?" He said.
"Mmm" She said in return.
"Aap diwali par sherwani pehenenge?" She asked.
He loved this about her, she never pressurized him into her festivals or her beliefs, she told him that if he wanted he could accept and celebrate them with her that was her preference however if he wished to not participate it was completely fine.
But participate he did, every year since they met he made sure he fasted at least one day with her, and tried to celebrate Eid.
It was the same for him off course, he told her in simple tones that she was not forced to celebrate any of his rituals it would be fine if she didn't want to but she threw herself into them, exclaiming with delight at the various customs.
"Aap sun bhi raha hai?" She asked.
"mm on diwali I'll wear a suit but on Eid I shall wear whatever you want me to" He said, his chest vibrating against hers.
"acha teek hai" she said, he could feel her blowing her mehendi.
"Aap ki didi bohot achi mehendi lagati hai" she said.
"Acha? Dikhao zara"
She un-looped her arms and showed him, his scrutinising made her nervous as she took her lower lip into her mouth.
"Beautiful" He said easing the worry off her face.
"Aap ko pata hai? Jitni gehri laal ho utna app humse pyaar karte hai, arre humme abhi yaad aya, Arnav-ji aapka naam yehi kahi likha hai, aap dhoond lijiye" She challenged, thrusting her hands under his nose.
"Agar dhond liya tho?" He asked.
To this question she blushed rather profusely, her eyes suddenly downcast, her behaviour coy intriguing Arnav further.
"Tho jo suhag raat par howa voh aapko milega"" Her voice was small.
Let there be no doubt that Arnav found his name and successfully ruined her mehendi in return, making it all the more darker.
