Dear Diary,
I've got some really bad news to report. I'm afraid I'm not looking forward to meeting my little sister Asmara at all. From what I've heard she seems like a very wild and violent person.
Yesterday I heard mum shriek and went running into my parent's room to find Dad already there asking her the matter worriedly. And mum told him that Asmara Kicked her!! How dare she kick MY mum?
And the weird thing is Mum and Dad were so happy with this incident. Dad put his hand on top of Mum's bloated stomach and murmured in a loving voice, "My little princess Asmara is being naughty, isn't she?" and laughed.
I don't know whats gotten into him! Last week when I tried pricking Mum's tummy with a pin to let out all the air lest she blew up (her stomach is still getting bigger by the way) I got a pretty long lecture from my dad on not hurting others and now my 'coming soon sister' (in Manorma Daadi's words) kicked my mum in the tummy and he's perfectly happy with that? How unjust!

I think Dad's finally succeeded in making a deal with the hospital and they're handing over my baby sister to my parents the next week. I think they're only giving her away cos she probably goes around kicking people and they're just trying to get rid of her now!

Mum has now started looking like a gaint beach ball when she dresses in her colourful clothes. She no longer fits in her old clothes and dad had to get her a whole new wardrobe of pom pom laden clothes. Pretty soon I'm sure she'll looks like a huge round pom wearing pom poms if she doesn't go on a diet.
I swear had I not seen Mum and Payal Mausi stuffing themselves with my own two eyes, I would've probably assumed that they were walking around with balloons stuffed under their kameez!
My Dad and Anjali Bua are the only people worried about mum judging from their increasing number of "What the's" and Poja's respectively. Poor Aman has to take all of Dad's What The's from the bluetooth. His hearing must be seriously getting affected from Dad's yelling.
And the rest of the family don't even care! Most of them ask about Asmara's health before my mum's! I mean, Hello people?! My mum's in the danger of exploding and all you guys care about is Asmara? And I don't understand, Asmara's not even here! How would my mum know how she's doing?
Poor Dad now hovers around Mum all day long. He doesn't even let her walk by herself, afraid that she might fall. He's right I guess, Mum had a hard time walking straight when she was thin and now that she can't even see her toes, the risk has increased considerably.
Poor dad has started exercising more to handle her weight in case she falls. I doubt he can handle it, he looks like a match stick compared to her. She'll probably end up squishing him under her!

OMG!! Mum had some serious tummy ache in the middle of night and Dad had rushed her to the hospital. I think its all cos of over eating and Asmara's kicking! Yes, she's developed this annoying habit of kicking Mum everyday! Now look what she's landed us into!
I feel a little bad for mum, she's gotten ill a night before she was expected to get her much awaited daughter. Dad called from the hospital at 6 in the morning saying Mum's gone into labour.
I really didn't understand this bit. Is dad letting mum work as a labour when she's already sick? I was pondering over these thoughts when Payal Mausi started hurting in the tummy as well and a flustered Akash Chacho had to take her to the hospital as well. He looked really panicked and kept muttering 'Bhai bhai' under his breath. I felt sorry for him. At such a difficult time Poor thing didn't even have my Dad to look up to.
I sat patiently in Manorma Daadi's lap watching Anjali Bua frantically waving the thaal in front of the mandir. It was raining outside and the weather was very pleasant too. Dad called at 7:15 and informed that Asmara came into the world at sharp 7 o'clock. Everyone started rejoicing at that while I thought about how my days as an only baby were over. And 'Asmara came into this world?' Trust dad to say something like this! He speaks of her as if she's an angel that just entered into this human world.
At 8:30, Akash Chacho called with the news of Anser's birth and the happiness in the house was infectious! Even I felt like smiling!
We all went to the hospital to meet the two new comers. I was a bit nervous about meeting my sister as we entered Mum's private ward. Dad was carrying a bundle of blankets in his arms like it was the most precious thing in the world, his face delirious with joy while mum looked at both of them with tears in her eyes and a smile on her face and thats when I realized that the little bundle was actually my sleeping sister. Everyone looked so happy! So I decided to forget my insecurities as I tried to be happy for my family.
