Dreams and Reality
Naina watched as her roommate entered the room. She was early today, and she was not drunk. It was going to be a long night. She remembered last time about three months ago when her roommate had returned early from her late night daaru parties. It had not been pleasant. Apparently drunk was her normal state. She told long and boring stories in which she featured as the fantasy of every guy in her vicinity.
"Naina, we haven't talked in so long. Today the guy who features in every woman's fantasy dropped me off. He is the MD of India's largest HR consultancy firm and owner of crores. He is the fantasy tall, dark and handsome guy. Oh! I should have introduced you to him. Let me see if he is still there. Maybe if you are lucky." With that cryptic statement she peered from the window, from where they can see the college entrance. "He has left. Maybe, next time." This she said with such a look on her face as if she was doing me a favor. "We were together at a boring party, with awful food. He looked at me once and knew that I would like to leave. He apologized to the host, as if it was required, but he is just so polite, and we left. I thought he would drop me off here straight, but he took me to a fabulous Thai restaurant. I was impressed that such a guy knew about what my preferences. You know how much I like Thai food." Three months earlier it had been continental, but who cared. "We had such a good time. We like same things." Naina could just bet they did, because Mishti's choices changed as quickly as her fantasy guys. She was still saying something, but it the three years Mishti has been her roommate, she had developed a habit of tuning out Mishti after a certain amount of time. She closed her eyes and continued nodding, because that's the only input required of her.

2 hours earlier
Mishti has had enough. Angad was watching that nobody like a hawk watched his prey. She had never seen him so mesmerized with anything let alone anybody as long as she had known him. This was disconcerting and not good for her ego. What did that girl have that she didn't? She went across from Angad, and when his glance flicked to her for a moment, she pretended she has twisted her ankle. The ankle twist trick was an old trick which always came to her rescue. Angad was by her side in a moment. Though she would have liked him to carry her to the couch, but he told her to lean on him. Well, she can be happy with small victories. At least his hand was at her waist. Then, her father had to come running and ruin everything. He started talking about going home right that moment. But she wanted to be alone with Angad.
"Papa, I have classes tomorrow. I cannot possibly go home tonight with you. It is not that big a deal. A ice compress will do the trick. Angad will drop me off at my hostel."
Angad had no choice but to agree. He was indebted to her father and could do anything for him. Sometimes that courtesy extended to his family as well. This was one of those times.

Angad has gone back to collect dadi, as he hadn't wanted to ruin her evening by asking her to leave with him and Mishti. It has taken all his restraint to not go to where Kripa and dadi were chatting happily and ask dadi to leave with him. But the smile on dadi's face has stopped him.
He had longed to go talk to both his green eyes and dadi and smile with them. He had wanted to stay and continue gazing at his green eyes. But Mishti had other plans.
hey guys,
first and foremost sorry to keep you all waiting for so long. my college has started that make it tough to write anything when i have so many other things on my mind, like what am i gonna write tomm's quiz when i haven't read anything. but it has been fun.
second i cannot pm. it takes a lot of time. so what i will do is post an update every alternate saturday at 8 pm IST.
