Hey everyone! So yeah...another chapter! This one's really short! I am so sorry! I have exams beginning but I really wanted to post another chapter. Hope you enjoy!
Chapter 6- Revenge is Bitter
Two months. Two months ever since life decided to abandon him. Eight weeks ever since he lost all that he thought he had. Fifty-six days ever since he decided to take revenge. And revenge is never sweet. It's bitter…..and agonizing…..filled with nothing but sheer hatred. Anger built its road through his mind washing out all other emotions and an overwhelming power consumed his body. In one go, he pushed the silver knife into the shapeshifter's chest. Bright red blood spluttered over his face and hands. He smiled….a cold smile, satisfied with his work, as he saw the monster lay lifeless on the floor. "B*****d.", he muttered under his breath. He went out and sat in the back seat of the Impala. "All done.", he said as he wiped the blood off his rough hands.
Sam and Dean turned around to look at Arnav's now emotionless face. His features had grown callous and his behavior calm yet wild. "You ok?", Sam questioned him.
Arnav raised his head. "Why won't I be? I just killed that evil son of a b***h who was causing so much mayhem. I feel great." He let out a sardonic laugh.
Dean turned to focus his eyes on the road ahead. "Alright then. There is a motel nearby. We can stop by."
--------------------------------
An awkward silence dominated the car. Sam stared out the window, his mind racing back to the events that had occurred two months ago. It had been horrible. Arnav's world had come crashing down beneath his feet. Just like him, he had lost what he had loved the most. He could feel his pain…his anxiety….his loss. And now he demanded exactly what he had when he had seen Jessica's body burning. It was what had generated his decision to start hunting again. It was revenge. Pure revenge.
---------------------------------------
They were supposed to get married in a few days. A gleaming tear rolled down his dry cheek. He tasted the salt as the lone tear made its way down and moistened his parched lips. No…he wouldn't let her memories haunt him. He had to stay strong. Strong enough to fight every damn evil thing that dared to confront him. He would destroy every single bit of them…everyone of them until he would get his hands on that demon that had the audacity to snatch his happiness from him.
-------------------------------------
Dean drove, his green eyes focused on the road but his mind wandering through the streets of confusion. Arnav had been accompanying them ever since that dreadful night. How could he forget? How could he possibly forget? He had seen innocent bodies in flames thrice now. He shook his head from side to side trying to blot out the ugliness of the sight that threatened to paint its terrible picture in his mind yet again. When Arnav had said he wanted to hunt again, he couldn't refuse. He simply couldn't. All he knew was that he wanted to help him. And he didn't know why.
----------------------------------------
Khushi sprinkled heaps of salt over the bundle of bones below the ground. She lighted a match stick and flung it over the remains of the ghastly ghost that had been haunting the small town. "Take that sucker!", she screamed. The orange fire reflected in Khushi eyes. They shone with self satisfaction and strength. She flipped her long brown locks and rushed out the old cemetery.
---------------------------------------
She gazed at the gleaming stars above and smiled. "Do you see me Amma and Babuji? I do make you proud, don't I? I am following what you practiced for years. I am doing what you died doing. This was your passion. And now it's mine too. Fighting evil, saving people, hunting things. There could be nothing better than this life. Doesn't matter how long or short it is but I want to live it to the fullest and do what I was born to do. Hunting."
The stars twinkled even brighter and Khushi chewed her bottom lip to stop the tear threatening to pour out. They are watching over me. She dropped her weary shoulders and walked ahead completely unaware of what destiny had in store for her.
