"Dear, Khushi
I dont know how to tell you all this but this is very important for you to know. As we come towards the end of our 6 month marriage contract I would like to confess something. I know that we left behind that contract long ago, when you made me fall for you all over again; when we fell in love again mutually. I know that you never wanted to know the reason why I married you forcefully after the night you lost to me your precious virginity. The Night when we were one, the night when we resolved to forget everything and start afresh, the night when we fell for each other again. I was selfish not to tell you this that very night before consummating our marriage but that night the uncontrollable desire within me led me to take such a step. I will respect every decision that you take after reading this letter.I ask for your forgivance even before you read this. your words "I trust you Arnav" that you said that night still linger in my mind and that it what has forced me to write this to you."
Khushi stopped reading the letter in between only as she was called by mannat. It was night and they both had just returned from the shop. reaching home after work, the first thing khushi did was read his letters. This was the letter that had destroyed her happy life forever. Seven years before, exactly one day after this, was the fateful day when two people deeply in love were seperated. Their love was not strong enough to keep them together.
"Tomorrow, it will be 7 years since I have seen him."
"Khushi...come fast. Dinner is ready." mannat called out again.
Khushi kept the letter aside and went to join her friend for dinner. they chatted during dinner, while khushi trying to hide all her emotions. But it didnt go unnoticed by her friend.
"So tomorrow's the dreaded day, right."
Khushi immediately looked towards her and saw her eyes also moist. She hugged her hard and started weeping loudly.
"I miss him Manu, I miss him soo much. Seven years..My life without him is lifeless. I know he would accept me with opening arms if i go but..I cant. He doesnt trust me. And thats what mattered to me the most in our relationship. I trusted him only to get betrayal in return."
Mannat patted her back lightly in order to console her." I want to show you something." Saying this mannat got up and brought that day's newspaper.
"Whats that?" Khushi said in between her sobs.
"See it yourself."
Khushi was shocked. The newspaper nearly dropped out of her hands as she read it "Arnav Singh Raizada in Lucknow..."She wasnt capable of reading anymore.
Arnav returned from work and sat down on the dining table. He had been very late and hence he was alone at the table. His di came upto him and served him.
"Di, why are you awake till..so late?"
"You know na, I never sleep without feeding you."
"But di..."
"Dont say anything, eat it now."
"You remember na di, I am going to lucknow tomorow."
"yes chote, i do"
"I am doing this only for you di..After khushi left me, you are the only person because of which I am still breathing."
Anjali put her hand on his mouth to stop him from speaking further "Never say anything like that arnav, This the last possible thing I will ever be able to bear-you going away from me. I love you more than my life chote."
"Di, you sure you dont want to accompany me there. I'll be all alone di and its such a big day."
"You wont be alone anymore after today, Trust me." Anjali had a gleam of hope in her eyes. She hoped things would be fine after tomorrow. Tomorrow.
Why was it such a big day tomorrow? Why was arnav going to lucknow?
