She rushed through the pavements of the sidewalk, with a speed that rivaled the setting sun on the horizon as the velvet sky started to enclose. The lecture after her last final had taken quite longer than she thought and then her friends dragged her to a shopping mall on the other side of the town when all she wanted to do was to rush back to the coffee store and find out who he was. To say the day was restless for Khushi would be an understatement. She pushed the coffee shop's door open and rushed to the cashier. "You ran out of Caramel Macchiato today in the morning at approximately 10: 06, I believe. Can you tell me the last customer who purchased that before that time. Please", she requested catching her breath. The cashier gave her a weird look, "Mam I don't think I can pull that sort of information for you. There are more than nine cashiers that could have billed it and we aren't allowed to give such information to customers." But she panicked, this was the only way to maybe find a clue. "I know it's a difficult task, but please I really need this information. This is extremely crucial for me to know it." The cashier shook his head, "I'm sorry Mam but I can't violate the company's rule" , he said effectively ending that conversation.

"Sir, the client's manager has called again, he wants to know when you want to schedule the meeting", Aman said as he saw his boss sitting at his desk, his head buried in his hands as three cups of empty coffee mugs surrounded him. Arnav looked up and shook his head, regaining himself, "Ahh….Sighania right? Next Friday, anytime between 10- 3. I'll be flying to Lucknow in two days so that wouldn't be a problem", he said as Aman nodded and recorded that into his tablet before looking at up ASR struggling with his head. "Sir, if you have a headache you should probably leave….it's almost 10 o'clock", he said daring to give his ferocious monster of a boss some advice. Arnav frowned as he heard that, "Go call that client Aman. You don't get paid to give me advice", he retorted before going back to his Mac Computer again. Aman just obeyed and headed out shaking his head at the mood swings of his boss. He had been working at AR for four years and still failed to understand ASR. And today he was extra grouchy today, it was probably because ASR's regular coffee fix had gone wrong by the work staff in the morning, where he yelled at the poor girl, literally scaring the daylights off his entire office staff and headed out to get it himself only to come back empty handed with no coffee. Usually their cafeteria had the coffee, but for some reason it ran out and it just so happened when ASR needed his coffee fix, tough luck he thought as he mailed in the meeting instructions. When he saw ASR return in the morning, he could swear he almost looked human, with a barely there smirk and thought he would be off the hook today, but bad luck striked as he was called upon by ASR an hour later to find him more aggravated than his usual standards. Women and ASR, he thought, we'll never be able to understand them...

Khushi clapped her hands as the aarti procession took place at the temple for Devi Maiyya. "Hai Devi Maiyya! It has been three days since he left me those messages and I don't know why butI feel restless to find out who he is. I can't concentrate on anything. I wasn't able to enjoy the shopping for the event that I had been waiting for, for the past three months. Why is this happening to me. Sometimes I feel like I should let it go, as he probably forgot about me entirely. But why does the thought of letting this person go even for a second in my life make me feel anxious. Why do I feel like whoever he may be, I know him, that somehow he is close to me", she prayed clutching onto the bag that held his notes tighter. And she couldn't help as a lone tear crawled down her face as she discreetly tried to wipe it before anyone else could see it. It confused her and alarmed her at how emotional and desperate she got to find out who this stranger was. But as she saw her favorite goddess sitting on the brave fierce animal, with a determined expression, she composed herself. Khushi always believe she was Devi Maiyya's child, born from her blessings to her parents when they prayed for a daughter and she was indeed. And today she decided she would behave the same way Devi Maiyya would, like a strong person. She wouldn't break down like she was about to and would be strong. Yes, she felt some unexplainable feeling and restlessness for the person who she didn't' even know but she decided she would try to let it go for now to gain some peace. Devi Maiyya wrote everyone's destiny and if it were written in her destiny, she would surely meet him, but until then, she would not try to become mad trying to search for him and let destiny play its game. But for now, she would cheer up, pack for her flight in the morning and be a good sister to her brother who needed her help for the big event.

Khushi stared in front of the giant shiny mirror she was forced in front of and looked at herself. The hustling and bustling around the makeup room's were making her almost feel dizzy. Her brother was hosting a fashion show from their company and she volunteered to model for him, though he was reluctant cause it was her first time. She had one last look at what she was wearing and steeped away to look for her brother.
"Yes, please make sure the lighting comes in through a 72 degree angle for the front zone. What you don't understand me? Arre bhai saab aap 72 degree angle mein lights jaagayiye na", NK said into the phone. "Jagayiye nahi bhaiya lagaiye", Khushi said tapping him slightly on her brother's forehead. NK was sent to boarding school in Australia for his schooling days and when he came back, he decided to finish his college there as well, hence he never really learned the Indian language properly. And Khushi always had a blast correcting her brother, who she dearly missed when he was out of the country. But now he was back taking over their late parent's business and Khushi was extremely thrilled that they could now live under the same roof after she was done with her MBA. "Khushi, are you sure you are going to be okay? I mean I know you are going to be amazing and all up there, but I'm your big brother you know. It's so scary to let my baby sister into the real world….", he said sighing dramatically. Khushi rolled her eyes and giggled, "of course I'll be fine Bhaiya! Don't worry! I'm really excited and today I am going to walk down the ramp as a new model, who has nothing to do with Gupta Corps and you are going to show them your amazing talent on the designs and organizing the event and we are going to make Amma and Babuji proud!", she said hugging him. "Yes we will. Hum saab ko dikhaenge ki hum kitne bache hain", he said smiling proudly as he hugged her back and walked backstage as the show was just about to start. Though NK was slightly sad about how Khushi didn't want him to present her as a show stopper to the world, but he also understood that she wanted to become her own person without using their lustrous family name. "NK bhaiya! Its ache not bache. Please do everyone a favor and just stick with English today. No Hindi! Please!", she pleaded. "but Khushi, I even made a speech to talk in Hindi and proofed it using Microsoft word hindi spell check. It's Lucknow, I have to give a speech in Hindi. See", he said pulling out a piece of paper from his pocket. Khushi's eyes just shot up in horror as the scene from 3 idiots played out where the student spoke all the wrong words in the speech. "No!!! no!...please don't do it. Just talk in English please, for me", she asked not wanting to watch a live scene straight out of a hindi movie played out by her brother. NK glumly put away the paper and nodded. She went backstage to wait for her turn to come as she heard the voiceover announcing the start of one of the Biggest Events of the Year, Gupta Corp's Fashion Show.
When she heard the music beats change to her tune, she took a deep breath and started to walk out. She was so relieve her turn came, the guy who was managing the models was giving her disgusting looks and she didn't need to be a mind reader to understand what his thoughts were. As she started to step out, strangely his "good luck" note the first time he left for her ran through her mind, almost as if he was wishing it himself and unknowingly a smile spread though her face. She took a deep breathe and walked out.
"Sir, I still fail to understand why we are at this show. I mean Guptas is a Big Company, but we are definitely bigger than them, they don't rival us", Aman said as he saw ASR staring ahead with a stern expression. "Never underestimate any opponent on the gameboard Aman. They may not rival us now, but the table should not be given an opportunity to turn ", he said ignoring Aman's confused looks and went back to analyzing the different clothing pieces on models.
Right when he was about to tell Aman that they probably do not need to worry for a good six months, a slender figure covered in a cloudy white and red ghagra descended down the stairs and flitted down the ramp gracefully. He was mesmerized as the breath taking girl paused in the middle to pose. And his eyes widened in realization the moment they met her widened eyes ones and time stopped altogether.
Khushi had turned to pose just as she had practiced and smiled at the lot. She saw her brother's teary eyes as they shined with happiness. And right when look at the other side to smile, her eyes met a widened pair of chocolate brown eyes and hers widened too. Those eyes were so different, so uniquely carved, and besides the fact she was seeing this man for the first time, she felt as if she met him before…..as if she's known him before….
Arnav on the other hand was completely dumbstruck at her beauty. She was nothing like he had last seen her before. Wrapped in Red and White, her innocence was shining through. Her doe like eyes were so full of life. He saw her turn around and leave the ramp and his heart tugged a bit. "NO!", his mind said. She couldn't leave, he had to see her…. And without even realizing what he was doing, he got up aleating a lot of people behind him, but he didn't care. "Sir, what…..", Aman questioned. "Aman, stay here, keep a check on the rest", he ordered before heading out as NK saw the whole thing that happened.
Khushi ran to the empty makeup room that was assigned to the models as everyone stayed back stage to see the response to their show. She still had time for their final group till so she sat down trying to even her breathing. That man….had such captivating eyes, something…so alien…yet so familiar……but just before she could finish her thought she heard the door creek open. She panicked ash she saw the same creepy guy lounging forward with a sadistic smile on his face.Ooh! I hav been waiting 4 dis update...
