Love beyond Commitment

Part 33

Khushi spent a good time sitting in the bathroom thinking what had just happened between the two. Why couldn't she forget their engagement night incident? He had already explained his reasons to her then ... She wiped off the tears and splashed cold water on her face drying it with towel afterwards. When Khushi came out of the bathroom she saw Arnav already in bed sleeping hugging a pillow. She smiled slightly to see him like that and then moved towards the bed.

Khushi realized how tired he must be. He hadn't slept for more than twenty four hours. Last night in Delhi they had hardly got two-three hours as their wedding night; and then though Khushi could catch up with some sleep in the flight, Arnav hadn't slept for even a minute.

She took off the lace robe leaving herself in just red lacy inners and slipped into the covers. Khushi pulled the pillow away which Arnav was hugging and settled in his arms putting her arms round his waist. Arnav felt her satin skin under his palm and pulled her more to himself hugging her back tightly. He realized how much Khushi was pushing herself to feel physically comfortable around him and guessed all this to be La's plan which Khushi tried her best to follow. He smiled in his sleep and then kissed Khushi's hair slightly.

Arnav opened his eyes early in the morning feeling some kind of void in his arms and saw Khushi missing from his bed; he looked around with sleepy eyes and then saw Khushi standing in front of the glass wall looking out standing silently. The morning sun had just started to rise and Arnav remembered seeing a similar sight once before when he for the first time had gone to Khushi's bedroom in the Gupta residence. That day too in the early hours of the morning he had seen Khushi standing in the exact same fashion looking out from her room terrace. But he was too sleepy to ask her anything about what exactly was she doing.

Arnav: Khushi? He murmured lazily in bed and she immediately returned to bed hearing him call her. She slipped back into the covers and Arnav pulled her back into his arms, his eyes were closed and he dipped his head in her hair nuzzling in her neck. Khushi smiled slightly as a lone tear escaped her eye and then she slipped her legs in between his hiding herself in his arms.

Khushi woke up with the sun shining brightly coming into her room. The sunrays made her turn lazily in bed and hide her face in what she thought to be her husband's chest. But she opened her eyes to see that it was actually a big fluffy white pillow. Her hair was a big mess and Khushi yawned in her sleepy way to look around in the empty room. She caught hold of the alarm clock on the bedside table and was shocked to see the time. It was quarter past eleven and Khushi literally shouted Devi Mayiya! And then hurriedly wore the robe and rushed out of bed. She was all set to run downstairs, but the moment she opened the door, she saw Maddy standing in front of her.

Maddy: Good morning Mrs. Raizaada, I hope you had a good sleep.😊 She greeted her with a smile.

Khushi: Just Khushi Maddy!

Maddy: Right! Good morning Khushi, I hope you had a good sleep. 😃She said again with the same cheeky smile on her face.

Khushi: Good morning Maddy and yeah I had a good sleep, thank you. Maddy, where is Arnav?😕

Maddy: Oh, he must be off to the court by now, he leaves at sharp half past eight every morning. Any ways, I came to ask you what you would like to have for breakfast. And also would you like to have tea or coffee?

Khushi: Hot chocolate! Khushi murmured looking down with frown on her face and her lips pouted. 😔 Maddy nodded and left realizing that Khushi was upset about over sleeping.

Khushi looked down disappointed with herself. She so wanted to spend the morning with him. Get him breakfast, or at least be there around him when he left for office. But well all Khushi Singh Raizaada could do was to spend the morning sleeping in bed! She sat down on the bed irritated. That's when Khushi saw a red color post it stuck on her bed post with a red rose kept next to it on the bed side table. Khushi picked it up and read the little note from her husband.

Important case! Had to leave, will be back by 7 pm! Told Maddy to be there with you, feel free to ask her for anything you need.

Khushi looked away and murmured with a cute pout: why are you so busy? And then went back to read the note.

P.S. - The red color looks really good on you. And you look even more beautiful when you are sleeping.

Khushi blushed crimson and then got up to go into the bathroom. Still with thoughts of her husband she entered the bathroom and took out a rubber band to tie her hair up before going to shower but then saw another post-it on the mirror, a parrot green color one this time.

Stop blushing Khushi and leave your hair open, don't tie them up!

Khushi burst out laughing and then bit her lower lip before putting the hair band back on the slab and moving towards the shower. As she reached the Jacuzzi she remembered last night. Arnav would have used the bathroom in the morning and would have seen how the bathroom was last night. Khushi put a hand on her head with the frown forming back. That's when she saw another white color post it kept on a fluffy white towel with a white rose kept next to it.

Take that frown off my wife's face. And also let your stupid friend know that your hubby isn't that bad romancing. She needn't tell you her stupid ideas and you don't need to push yourself and follow them.

Your 'not so busy' hubby!

Khushi blushed tomato red with an extreme happiness sweeping through her about how Arnav had made her so happy and not guilty at all without even being there.

Khushi: I love you! She whispered and then got into the Jacuzzi to get ready for the morning.

Arnav stood in the conference room with Shaleen, Lavanya and Akaash sitting around the large round table in the room all with serious faces.

Shaleen: Hmm, don't take this lightly Arnav. Up until now it was only about you therefore I didn't force you to take a strong decision, but now he has managed to get to Khushi too. It's not safe for her. When was last that you received his call?

Arnav: Last night after dinner.

Shaleen: And before that?

Arnav: Don't know really. I don't think he has called me recently. And I was anyways busy with the wedding ... so? Arnav went into deep thought and then suddenly remembered.

Arnav: Oh yes! He did call me last week when we all went to the Gupta residence to ask for Khushi's hand!

Flashback: (This was when Khushi had gone on the terrace to meet Arnav and had found him shouting on someone on the phone ' given in part 8)

Arnav: I said JUST SHUT UP!!

Khushi heard Arnav shout like never before and froze in her tracks on reaching the terrace door. He was standing with his back towards her and his pitch was even higher than she had heard that night outside the hospital.

She neither knew if she should go towards him or should go back downstairs. She was really scared to approach him right now.

Arnav: Don't you even dare try and threaten me ever again or else I'll make sure that you spend the rest of your life behind the bars.

Khushi shivered hearing the conversation on the phone and a sudden fear of losing him held her. Tears formed in her eyes as she kept looking towards him. Arnav turned back towards the door to see the most beautiful girl he had ever seen in his life.

Flashback ends!

Arnav: But he didn't call me after that until yesterday night.

Shaleen: That means he called you on your India number. He's keeping track of your every move Arnav. He said shaking his head worried. Does Khushi know?

Arnav: No not yet! But honestly I don't want to tell her. She... she isn't too comfortable.. I mean... new people around her, don't want to scare her with this.

Shaleen: I understand. Lavanya I want you to backup Arnav and Karan on this case and get all the details of all the lawyers who are assisting them both in any case these two are working on, as soon as possible.

Lavanya: Sure.

Akaash: But Shaleen Bhai, all the lawyers of our firm are trustworthy, then?

Arnav: Rule no. 1 Akaash; don't trust anyone other than yourself. If he can reach our home then he can reach here in the office too. He spoke firmly with his lips pressed together.

Shaleen: Exactly! This man has already tried threatening Karan once before using Krystle's safety. We can't risk any of our safety now, especially Krystle and Khushi. Arnav looked up at Shaleen.

Arnav: I left two of my bodyguards to guard outside the house and to make sure Khushi is safe at all times. Maddy too will stay in the house with her until I am back.

Shaleen: Good! Where's Karan? He asked looking for him around.

Arnav: Again he's late. Arnav said angry about Karan being casual about things. La I told you to make sure he's on time for the meeting.

La: He's on his way. Common give him some concession for the day Donny. It's his D Day! She asked smiling expecting a smile from Arnav too.

Shaleen smiled remembering that it was Karan's first wedding anniversary today. On seeing that Arnav still didn't show any change of expression Shaleen intervened.

Shaleen: It's alright Arnav; Akaash will brief Karan on the case details. And La is right, it's his special day!

Arnav: His D-day was one year back! But for god knows why he's been celebrating his D-Day for the last 365 days and for how many more days to come am I going to get the same excuse of his D-Day! Arnav said exaggerating the D-Day word.

Everyone burst out laughing knowing how much Karan was in love with his wife Krystle and how much the love sick friend of Arnav's use to irritate him with his teachings on love.

Next: Arnav: I swear you won't even live a day more if you even dare tried to touch her. Arnav shouted on the phone.
