" Gautam just called to say that they were seated and the plane was due to takeoff." I had heard my dad tell mom in their bedroom. Thank god I had been outside their room then or I would have never known that Buttercup is coming back. I smiled to myself as lay down on my bed thing about meeting Buttercup after 10 long years.

I need to surprise her I thought. But she was going to surprise me I think. And if she knows that I already knew that she was coming she will be disheartened. Oh I'm so sure about it. I need to plan something so that she gets a surprise and I don't spoil hers." Swayam lets put the mind at work" I said to myself and thinking about my plan drifted of to sleep.

I woke up early the next morning although I knew she would not arrive until noon and like a girl spent most of the time making myself and my room presentable. I was till not sure of my plan. At about 12 when i was standing my room peeping out of my window trying to find something to do to calm myself and my excitement, When two soft hands covered my eyes and I heard a giggle...

"Buttercup" A smile spread across my face as I said it. I removed her hands and turned her around. How different she looked after all these years. But she still had those innocent beautiful eyes and the same sweet smile on her lips. " How did you know it was me?" she asked me as she gave me a hug. I smiles and said " After all I'm your.." and "Best friend" she completed it for me. "And you know what.. there is nobody other than you who covers my eyes like this and then on top of that your giggle can be recognised even in the midst of the crowd Buttercup" I told her. " so are you surprised to see me? " She asked her voise enthusiastic again.

" Yes and No both..." I told her. "Why yes and no? " she asked clearly confused. "No as I didn't expect you till late afternoon and yes cause I heard dad telling mom about you coming back." I told her. " This was supposed to be a surprise . I had made Sameer uncle and Shikha aunty promise the wont tell you" She said her voice clearly showing displeasure. i somehow couldn't see her sad so I decided to change the topic. "we have so much to catch up and we are fighting on this" i told her. Yup we do have lot of catching up to do" she said all excited again.

"Well before that. why are you all dresses up in the best of your collections? Do you have a date today?" She asked as she examined me. "I'm single Buttercup" I told her. "So you wasted your time to impress me? I didn't know people wasted their time to impress even their best buddies." I had to smile at her comment. " You yourself have spent considerable time dressing up haven't you?" I asked her. We knew each other so well still there was so much that we didn't know.

It was so easy to cheer her up, I thought. Not many things have changed over these years. I just hoped she liked my surprise too.

We had so much to catch up with that we didn't even move from where we were standing and I really don't know how long we stood there so engrossed in talking with each other. it was when we heard Mom's voice that we realised that our legs had stated to ache. "Sharon, it's been so long sweetheart!" Mom said. "how have you been?" "I'm doing fine aunty" Sharon said giving mom a hug. "I don't think I would have talked to you any time soon if i wouldn't have come up " Mom said. Sharon just smiled in reply. I mentally cursed mom for interrupting us when we had so much to talk about.

"Sharon, why dont you go and freshen up and come down for lunch. We'll all have it together" Mom told her. "Ok Aunty" She replied. "Mom" I started to protest. "she has had such a long journey, let her atleast freshen up" Mom cut me short. "you both can talk after lunch" "Ok Mom " I agreed reluctantly and Sharon followed Mom down.

Well now that I was alone I had a last minute preparations to do for the night's surprise, so I started my work.

awww. Super cute update. Sneaky Swayam. Found it out after all. I can't wait to see what the surprise is all about. I loved your update Sree. Keep coming with such awesome updates. Thanx 4 the PM n update soon.

thnx so much...i too love the name Buttercup...you'll need to wait for the surprise as i myself dont know how it will turn up...
