Everyone was searching for Khushi but could not find her. Arnav comes in to the house and sees a worried Anjali. He says, 'Kya hua Di? Aap itne pareshan kyun lag rahe ho?' Anjali replies, 'Khushi ji kal raat se ghar nahi aayi.' Arnav was confused and asked, 'Woh kal raat ko kahin gayi thi?' Anjali nods and says, 'Koi raat bhar ki pooja thi. Unhonein humhe bataya tha lekin unhe ab tak aa jaana chahiye tha. Mobile bhi ghar par chod diya hai. Yeh bhi nahi mil rahe.' Arnav flexed his jaw and was furious. He told himself, 'Zaroor dono saath mein hoge. Kahin bhaag'' He asks Anjali where they went and rushes out of the house. He reaches the temple and sees Shyam and Khushi there. He tells himself, 'Ab tum dono ko iss baat ki saza milkar rahegi.' He came nearer to them and was taken aback at the sight that met him.

Arnav stood behind a pillar and looked bewildered seeing Khushi struggle to free herself from Shyam's grip. A part of him wanted to save her but the other wondered why she was behaving this way. Shyam had said that Khushi loved him so shouldn't she be happy to meet him? But Khushi looked' there was no other word for it, she looked disgusted to see him. His thoughts snapped when he saw Khushi finally free herself and register a hard slap on Shyam's face. Arnav's thought process ran off its axis and he stood rooted to the ground.

Khushi stared at Shyam angrily and said, 'Aapki himmat kaise hui humhe haath lagane ki? Uss din chhat par bhi humne kaha tha lekin aap'' She clutches her mangalsutra and says, 'Yeh dekh rahe hai aap? Dhyaan se dekhiye aur yaad rakhiye, hum ab Khushi Arnav Raizada hai.' Even in the midst of trying to collect his thoughts, Arnav's heart swelled hearing Khushi's name with his. Khushi continues, 'Aapki gandee nazar hum par daalne ki koshish ki toh aapko sirf hamara hi nahi Arnavji ka bhi saamna karna hoga.' Shyam replies, 'Khushiji, woh aapse pyaar nahi karte. Aap toh janti bhi nahi ke unhonein aapse shaadi kyun ki.' Khushi is disturbed to know that Shyam knows about the reason whilst she doesn't. But she did not want to know anything from him. He always lied to her.

Khushi firmly says, 'Aur humhe jaanna bhi nahi. Jaane anjaane mein hi sahi lekin Arnavji ne humhe aapse bachaya hai.' Arnav rested his back against the pillar and was breaking under the weight of Khushi's words. Things were getting clearer to him but along with the images of all the wrong that he had done to her. The guilt was killing him and he did not know what to do. Khushi continued, 'Humne ek galati ki, ke Anjali ji ko aapke bare mein bataya nahi. Aap hi hamare paying guest the, aapne humse jhoot bolkar mangni ki, aapne unhe dhoka diya aur humhe bhi. Anjali ji aapse itna pyaar karti hai iss liye humne aapko doosra mauka diya. Yahi hamari sabse badi galati thi. Lekin Shyam Manohar Jha, agar aapne hamara peecha karna bandh nahi kiya, toh hum aapki sacchayi Raizada parivaar ke saamne le aayege.' Shyam grips her again and says, 'Kahiye na Khushiji. Humne sangeet wale din bhi kaha tha, sabko bataiye taaki hum uss ghar se azaad ho jaaye.' Arnav goes completely mad seeing Shyam gripping Khushi in that way and cannot hold himself. He calls out Shyam's name.

Shyam lets go of Khushi who is wincing in pain. Arnav grits his teeth and says, 'Jijaji, aap yaha? Khushi ko dhoondte hue aaye the na? Kitni chinta hai aapko iss ghar ki.' Shyam does not answer and Arnav continues, 'Aap jaiye. Main Khushi ko lekar aata houn. Apni patni ko toh mujhe hi laana hai, kyun?' Khushi senses the tension between Arnav and Shyam and is confused about it. She wonders why Arnav looked so upset. Shyam leaves in a huff and Arnav sees his receding figure seething with anger and guilt all at once. He takes a deep breath but cannot get himself to face Khushi. He slowly turns around to face her when Khushi sees his moist eyes. She wants to ask him about the matter but cannot get herself to. She turns to go when Arnav says, 'Kaha ja rahi ho?' Khushi does not see him and says, 'Hum ghar ja rahe hai.' Arnav says, 'Main bhi wahi ja raha houn. Tumhe le chalta houn.' Khushi is upset with him and says, 'Aapke ghar ka koi sadasya yaha hai?' Arnav plainly replies, 'Nahi.' Khushi rings the bell of the temple and says, 'Toh phir aapko yeh naatak karne ki zaroorat nahi hai. Hum khud chale jayege.' And she leaves without another word with Arnav going insane with helplessness. He collapses on the temple steps and bows his head in contempt of his own actions.
